You said it, Doug. And when you're done with him, I'll get my licks in too! The saddest part of all is that there are some people just like him.....

Thanks to Doug for posting that. I've never seen this & I had tears in my eyes & a lump in my throat the whole time. God bless all our soldiers, past & present - hope they know how much they mean to us... DebS

Gerritt, the sleep study is a really good idea - you may have sleep apnea & not even know it. I was diagnosed with it a year ago. Even when I went to bed at 9:30 at night, I'd wake up so tired sometimes. I had an overnight sleep study in a lab & they found that I was waking up 23 times each hour and I wasn't even aware of it! Once I started using a CPAP device (it blows air down your throat while you sleep), there was a big change. Kind of hard to get used to, but what a difference.....Can't help you with the restless leg problem but I'm sure the docs will find an explanation for that. Good luck! DebS

Wow, what a little beauty! I just love the markings on her face. I'm sure that you'll have many, many adventures together, fishing and otherwise. Great choice! DebS

So sorry Mike to hear about your friend Kareem. Keep remembering all the great times you've had together. Some people go through their whole lives without experiencing such a special friendship with someone. My condolences to all of you. DebS

Glad to hear that you are all OK - such a stupid act could have had terrible consequences if you had lost control of the car! I just heard on the local news about a woman who was walking down the street when a car came up behind her & honked the horn. When she turned to look, someone threw an egg at her. The egg hit her in the eye, seriously injuring her and maybe costing her the sight in that eye! How can these idiots think that something like that is funny?! It just seems like there are so many acts of thoughtless cruelty anymore....Thank goodness you and your family weren't injured by those morons! DebS

Hi Rick, I'm picking up a camcorder tomorrow night - Canon ZR800. It uses mini-DV's & has gotten great reviews & it's less than $400. Did a ton of research between mini-DV, DVD & hard drive formats & this is what I chose. I didn't want to spend a lot on my 1st camcorder - I figure that the way technology is always advancing, I'll replace it down the road with a higher-end model. As far as transferring your video, it's pretty simple. You upload the video to your PC via a Firewire port on the back of your CPU (might be called IEEE1394 port), then you can edit your footage, add special effects, etc, before you burn it to a DVD. The DVD camcorders, from what I've read, don't allow you to edit your footage, but you can play it on the TV as soon as you pop it out of your camcorder. Anyway, as I said, I'm no expert - just thought I'd tell you what I chose & why. You could always check out the following sites - I found them pretty helpful: http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Begin...uying-Guide.htm http://pcworld.about.com/news/Mar242005id120086.htm http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,125646-page,1/article.html http://reviews.cnet.com/Camcorders/4520-76...-1.html?tag=dir Anyway, hope this helps - good luck with your search DebS

Hi Sturgman, We fished Bisco a few years ago & it's an amazing lake. It was a bit overwhelming because it's so big & we didn't have a fishfinder at the time, but just fished a lot of good looking structure & were able to catch some nice walleyes. Don't think you'll have any trouble finding a camping spot. Here's a link to a map of the lake (It's from Grey Owl Camps' website) & it's pretty accurate. Good luck & show us pictures when you return! http://www.duenorth.net/greyowl/cabins.html

Congratulations to the whole family! The little guy's a sweetie & big brother is a real cutie too! I agree with you - there's something beautiful about a woman who's just given birth - what a miracle!!!! DebS

Hi Mike, I have the Eagle Cuda 168 & it's been great. I've never had a problem with the suction cup coming off, even at high speeds and on a rental boat. For the price, I think it's a really good unit - not fancy, but all the basics that I need! DebS

Fantastic report Mike, thanks for sharing! The pics were awesome. Glad your adventure turned out so well! DebS -
Nanook, my deepest sympathies to you and your family on the loss of your friend, Cocoa. Take heart in knowing that the last thing Cocoa saw were the faces of the people who loved him the best. He left this world knowing he was loved. I know what you're feeling right now as I just found out this morning that my 12 yr old Golden Retriever, Amber, has cancer & I can't imagine life without her..... Just remember all the good times you had with Cocoa -he may be gone, but the memories will always be with you. Deb

OK, I just posted my vote for Maureen. Good luck & will post again each day!!!

So sorry for your loss. One more fishing trip sounds like the perfect way to end the story...

I've always had prescription polarized sunglasses with anti-reflective coating on the lenses & never had any problems getting them made up. Just get your prescription & take it to any reputable store that sells eyewear & they should be able to fix you up with no problems, even with bifocal lenses without breaking the bank. Good luck!

That's hilarious! What a whacked-out squirrel. Any plans for a repeat visit to that island???? I can't wait to hear the next chapter in this story! Thanks for the laugh!

Thanks Dustin, that was beautiful. Powerful message. DebS

Lew, so sorry to hear of your loss. My condolences to both of your families. Just remember all the laughs you shared over the years & I'm sure that Eddy is already scouting out the best musky holes. Deb

Wow, that was unbelievable! It's a wonder any of the young ones survive to adulthood. Thanks for posting that Rick! -

Wow, beautiful pics! Has to be one of the prettiest places in Ontario. Looks like you guys had a great time! You're right - when you really look around you realize how small we all are in the big picture...Thanks for sharing.

Hi Maureen, She's a real beauty - just look at all the love in her eyes. I'm sure that before too long, she'll seem like she was always part of the family. She's a sweet looking little thing and I'm sure she'll be a great companion. Good for you for saving her! Deb

Thanks njm, You're right, I checked the ON map & it IS spelled "Wasi" ( on the guy's website, he spelled it as "Wassi ).... I see that you're from Powassan. Have you fished Wasi Lake? Just wondered how plentiful the pickerel are & if you can recommend any presentations that worked for you? Thanks for any advice you can give. DebS

Hi all, Planning my vacation & just wondered if anyone was familiar with Wassi Lake, near Powassan. Thinking about staying at Wassi Lodge for 2 weeks - there's supposed to be pickerel, bass & perch in the lake, but I haven't been able to come up with anything on the Internet, so any info would be much appreciated. Thanks, DebS

Mo, that is the saddest news to hear. Take heart in knowing what a difference you made in Dallas' life. Your guys are all lucky to have a "mom" who loves them so much. I went through it myself and I know how much it hurts but hold onto your memories of all the good times you shared with Dallas & let your other guys help you through this sad time. So very sorry for your loss....Deb
