Since my outing with 2 friends when the water was real bad I didn't wear a life jacket while fishing. Since that day I have and I will when solo fishing no matter wwhat the weater is like. I want to go home to my wife and kids. I agree that this link to the video should be a stuck thread. Pete, I thank you from my family for this video and I hope many others pay attention to this too. If you are not sure about a baitcaster then stick with a spinnig rig. I added a baitcaster to my 'bag of toy's' last year (and another for this season) but find I still can chuck a senko on a hook much farther and with better aim with my spinning gear. Like the old saying, if it ain't broke... BUT I do like to troll with a baitcaster much more then a spinning rig. You all may LOL at this but I got a Shimano 7' rod with a spinning reel at Walmart for $50 + taxes and LOVE it! To ech thier own so I guess you need to hit the stores to find out what you like, cheers. Geoff

Rather a sled, much faster... Still, call a local if you know any to see what it's like right now...

last weekend it was 14" thick in the N/E end of the lake BUT I have not been since. I would guess it is still OK for walking but not for any toys... After all, all huts have to be off this weekend anyway but if you go out use EXTRA care. The Buddy system is in effect for sure...

Take him out for the strippers, or is that spelt sripers? either way it's a charter day for you both... -
I like amber BUT it depends in the day... (that can be read in sooooo many way's....) I have grey and amber lenses and all depending on the weather will decide what I wear. Most times I bring both out with me in case the weather changes.

Nobody will be shopping at Rock and Reel anytime soon
GBW replied to irishfield's topic in General Discussion
I went past it today and was SOOO temped to pull in but decided it was in my best interest not to... I wanted to see if I could get some HOT deals but I figured I better not push my luck... -
Any place that sell's eyewear can write up "frames + lenses" with the most minor (and maybe fake I might add) 'prescription' on the invoice. The good news is if you have a 'prescription' you are not paying the full taxes. Hence my Ray Ban P's (P means polarized) that I got this year in the GTA for $185 all in... You just have to ask around if they can write it up like that for you. I know a few places if needed... LOL!

Thanks folks. I'll be defrosting them soon and I'll preserve them some way. I was thinking the mineral oil and garlic way but now I'm not sure...
-
Hey all. So I read a post about how to preserve dead bait and VHS and it got me thinking. I had a bunch of minnows left that I got from the bait shop on 7A in Port Perry so I took them home and stuck them in the freezer. This bait should be VHS free (I would hope) so is it going to be a concern for me to use it on the lake my cottage is on in the summer? I don't fish Scugog in the summer, I'm farther North in zone 17. Thanks in advance. G

Where are you and Ray Ban P is what I wear now. Light and good.

DANG! I was about to go in there today around 3:00 PM to have a look see but I had to get home for my daughter to get off the bus from school. OMG, I even told the wife next time she's looking for fishing stuff for me to check this new location out! I can just see it now, "here honey try these new rocks insteads of the splitshots as they will get more fish looking at your bait"... Glad I didn't stop in today (BTW, I haven't read the link yet). -
Oliver, I'm not a hunter (yet) but I read your other post about fishing Thursday. PM me if you want to as I MIGHT be able to get out. I'll check for a PM later if you read your other post and are interested. Cheers. Geoff

I found this on Snopes too it's worth a read!!!! Male Date Rape Drug Police warn all male clubbers, party-goers and unsuspecting pub regulars to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink from a woman. A new date rape drug on the market, called "beer", is being used by females to target unsuspecting men. The drug is generally found in liquid form, and is available almost anywhere. "Beer" is sometimes used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to convince their male victims to go home and have sex with them. Typically, a woman needs only to persuade a guy to consume a few units of "beer" and then simply ask him home for no-strings attached sex. Men are helpless against this approach: After several "beers" men often succumb to desires to perform sexual acts with women to whom they would usually not be attracted. Men often awaken after being given "beer" with only hazy memories of exactly what happened the night before, just a vague feeling something bad occurred. Some unfortunate men report having been trapped in a familiar scam known as "a relationship." Apparently men are easy victims for this scam after "beer" is administered and they've been sexually approached previously. Please! Forward this warning to every male you know. If you should fall victim to this insidious "beer" and the predatory women plying it, there are male Support groups in most towns where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter in an open and frank manner with similarly-affected, like-minded guys.

I get the car one on average 1 time a day. The real P-off is that this is a new to me cell number, as far as I know it wasn't used before... The house, not so many at all and I am on that DNC list as well. If anyone calls me I say "Sorry, my father would KILL ME if I used his competitor" and most of the time they hang up before I do. -
because the Walmart by me is garbage, they never have anything in stock. The CTC is closer but the place it a royal pain to get out of at the time I was going out because of the school.
