  1. Mainframe Programmer Analyst / Manager for some 29 years now with the same company. Quarrying and Highway construction here in PA. What would I like to do. Retire and own a summer home on the French River, or that general area. (Like that's ever gonna happen). Oh well ... it's always nice to dream. Ya just never know.
  2. Congrats on your opener Lew. Give me two more weeks.
  3. I can see it now ... Mike the Musky Fisher. Congrats on your first .. it does get addictive.
  4. Very nice minnow. Looks like a number of folks are having success on opening day. Congrats on the PB. Next trip 45+ ?
  5. Nice fish. Great way to start opening day. Get's you off to a good start.
  6. Well spoken Jen ... very well spoken.
  7. Nice Report DP. It could be that, if you are driving the boat, you are such a skilled driver and observer of fish structure, that you do such a magnificant job putting your partner on the biggest of fish. Great job on this one ... very respectable fish. Congrats.
  8. Yup ... Pens are gone. Great run though for them. Gotta admit that Detroit does have a great team.
  9. Now that is one bad-ars music video. Great job Cliff ... Love it.
  10. Can't wait. I'll be doing some shopping in the next couple days and be bringing a bag of goodies to help sweeten the pot a bit.
  11. Rich & Patsy Clemens 30 people and counting
  12. I saw an add for this product in the June/July 2008 issue of Musky Hunter Magazine (page 83). This is supposed to counter-act many of the effects of Ethenol. Double the corosion inhibitors and more cleaning additives - as the advertisement claims. Thought about picking up a bottle.
  13. Just picked up a couple double cowgirls fromm Musky Tackle Online. (gonna give them a bath in a few weeks). One is black and the other is Black w/ some Red. Another vote for Black.
  14. Quiet little trout lake you say ... sure does look like a great place. Cozy little cabin, water-front view, great scenery .... heaven. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Let's not start counting those chickens before they hatch (but, I have to be honest and say I thought it would end last night too).
  16. ALL WILL BE MORE THAN OK IT'S GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAT (As Tony the Tiger would say). Last year was my first time and have been anxiously awaiting this year's GTG. Met a lot of great people last year (We'll have to see how many names I can remember). Hope to add to that list this year. I too will be arriving on Thursday and staying for a week. Musky opens on Saturday June 21.
  17. Glad to have you on board and don't hesitate to share some of your pleasure. We like pics of all species no matter how big. Heck - just look at my first report for the year ... nothing bigger than the palm of my hand. Hope to fix that in just under 3 weeks.
  18. Now that was a great report and love the pics.
  19. Very nice coloring on your catch. I like the phrase "match the hatch" - should make for a good catch'.
  20. Looks to be one pike of a great time. Great report. Thanks for posting.
  21. That's great stuff Lew. Pretty tough times back then in Northern Ontario. You just have to admire hearty folks like your grandparents.
  22. Well I finally had my first opportunity to get out on the water this year. My next-door neighbor and a friend of ours (who both retired from the same company I work for), took the day off to hit a local river. Both of them just like to lay back, throw out a worm and bobber and see what bites. Not all that exciting, but it was a great day on the water with great friends, good jokes and laughs, and some fish. Unfortunately, I don't think any of them were bigger than my hand. Bass does not come into season for another few weeks yet, so we had to target panfish mainly. This also gave me a good opportunity to get the boat out and make sure everything is in working order. Thankfully it is. Also gave me a couple more chances to work on my backing-up skills with the boat - which went pretty good I must say. Scenery Pic: My buds cookin up a little shore-lunch that we brought along: Hoggin' up the boat with all their 'stuff'. I told them it looked like I just finished a day on the water with my 6 grandkids. Messy ... messy ... messy. But we had a great day together. Poor Larry, he took the brunt of all our jokes and shenanigans. He wasn't doing too well in the afternoon, so as I caught a pan fish, I was sure to release it right in front of him ... just in case he forgot what a fish looks like. Oh Yeah .... I need to find that smallest fish post. Mine would be a great addition. I did manage to catch my very first stripped bass, actually caught three. Being OOS, we didn't even take any pics. All in all, a great day on the water and future trips are being planned. Although we were just dinking around, I was never on this part of the river before, so this gave me a chance to search out a new few spots to hit when bass season comes in and gain some understanding of the layout and structure.
  23. How many fish does it take to fill a 1 KG bag ?
  24. Bettin around 5 to 5 1/2 pounds. Dang nice bass regardless of the weight.
  25. Musky Hunter and Esox Angler are the only two I subscribe to. I like the pics ... just to prove that there are big fish out there.
