Where's The Best Place Locally to Buy A Bowmount?
SlowPoke replied to solopaddler's topic in General Discussion
Don't forget your rebate: http://www.minnkotamotors.com/_docs/2012%20Minn%20Kota%20Bow-Mount%20Redemption%20Form.pdf I picked up a Terrova 101 US2/iPilot yesterday from Angling Outfitters yesterday and saved a bunch over internet pricing. Also, if you're getting an iPilot be sure to check if its the new version. -
if the tire isn't tracking properly it will cause tire wear. The axle may be bent, misaligned to cause this. A worn bearing could but is less likely

St croix pm610mf premier, ? for the muskie guys
SlowPoke replied to vinnimon's topic in General Discussion
The Calcutta 400B is a great duel purpose reel but might be a little more money than you'd like to part with. -
Ummm, okay. Did somebody hack your account, Cliff?
-
Check out Muskies Canada. If you become a member, you will have access to their web forums where you can read/ask about anything muskie related. If you're not sure you want to commit the membership fee, go to a local chapter meeting and sit in on the action. I'm sure once you get to see the passion these guys have for muskie fishing, you'll have no trouble reaching into your pocket. Your best bet to learn about getting started is to hook up with a seasoned muskie angler. That's how I got hooked!

My Kijiji buying experiences have been stellar... I've spent over $100k (Work truck, 2 boats, 2 Suburbans and a Tahoe for big purchases). The best deals have come from big ticket items in small market areas. My work truck was very low mileage and I still see them listed with higher km's for more money than I paid last May. My selling experiences have been pretty good. I think I'm pretty good at establishing a fair price and I've never needed to sell ASAP so I'm able to stick close to my price. What I find helpful is; without sounding like a jerk in the ad, establish some rules. - no negotiation via email or phone, in person only. - preset viewing times (available for viewing/pickup Saturday March 20 between 10am and 2pm, first come first serve)

Whats the best way to slow my boat down for trolling?
SlowPoke replied to coreyhkh's topic in General Discussion
Troll uphill. -
Nice job Emil! Let me know when there's enough to drive out there
-
I doubt it but we can check. Mine requires the blue connector which is fairly new. Rob (scugog) might have a transducer kicking around. I might drop in Tuesday with the Suburban; it's due for a service... and probably a bunch of other things LOL
-
I can lend you a Lowrance 522 GPS/SONAR and can probably figure something out for a transducer. I just have the ice-ducer for the portable. By the way, drive or fly? How long do you want to leave the boys at the shop unattended? LOL

I like dealing with someone that knows their field. Recently I was considering replacing the cushions in my truck's bunk that make up a bed (think fold down camper style table) with a mattress. I called a truck dealer in Brampton and asked for a mattress and the counter guy was stumped; he needed my vehicle serial number to look up the part. I told him it didn't have a mattress from factory (many of the same model do but mine had the 'work station option'). He said he couldn't help me, I'd have to find a serial number from a truck that was equipped with a mattress from factory. Paul; I betting if you had mattresses in your inventory, you wouldn't need much help from the computer to find them! Kudos to you for helping your community and ours. Brian

I've been using an accordion file folder for sandpaper for decades. I don't consider that an invention but re-purposing. I do have a fishing related idea that will impact the lives of millio... thousan... hundreds of people. Okay, maybe "hundreds of people" is exaggerating but it'll make my life easier! I have to test the theory this season and may present the idea to a company that could introduce it into their product line.

The amber lights you're talking about are marker lights. The amber lights mentioned in Wayne's post refer to fog lights. We don't see them that often nowadays. People often refer to white auxillary/driving lamps as fog lights but they just add glare when fog is present. I believe 'by the letter of the law' she is not wrong for issuing a ticket but it seems insane considering; you had the replacement bulb with you, I assume it was daylight by the time of your post and I'll also assume you were polite. That might not be enough to toss the ticket. Imagine how pissed off you'll be taking time off work to lose the case.

I hope she's proud of herself; you could have killed someone running around in daylight with one headlight out. Medal of Honour.

I'd say address your battery/charging issues before going to the trouble of a block heater. We really haven't had the deep cold temps yet and a good battery would have cranked it over. I'm having the same issue with my Suburban right now. Anywhere below -10 or sitting a couple days and no start. Jump it with the spare battery and it fires right up. When it gets a little warmer I'll pop the new battery in. A block heater will help the engine start easier but it's main purpose is warming the engine and fluids. If your battery is that weak, it still might not start!

I buy it a year at a time. I figure it gives me a couple extra opportunities to visit with Steve at Lambeth Rod & Tackle!

Nice Vince! Enjoy the goodies!

I was waiting for your Catfish fly-in report!! They're aptly named; "Catchin' Bass" would have been the misnomer. Having said that, I think Dan forgot to take a picture of his bass about 142 times this summer LOL
-
Ohhhh my! LOL I don't have time to change it now but you're right, thanks... I think.

May Santa bring you a 'clean bill of health' this Christmas!

I have the Garmin 1490LMT and I'm happy with it. One of the best features of the larger screen is having a nice size map to reference AND customizable data at the same time. I also think you gain some processing speed with the larger, more expensive units. I paid $169 a year ago from Costco.

Congratulations Ernie! I grew tired of lining everyone else's pockets for 20+ years and decided to go out on my own this spring. It has been pretty smooth for me and I've relied on great advice and insight from my accountant and others in my field. Enjoy the short commute and best of luck with your new venture. -Brian
