  1. Not lookin good for game 5 Stoty. 4-0 after 2 in game 2. Hope Colorado can win one at home. It would be sweet if you were there to close out the series. Go Avalanche! At least for one game .
  2. Yeah, as would I. Not too often do you get decent deals along with quality when you purchase a combo. I would suggest looking on eBay for a reel and checking out the local stores for a rod. You can find reels on eBay pretty cheap but watch out for shipping, some guys are good and some are ridiculous. Rod shipping is normally too expensive to make it worth while. I just took a quick look and found some decent deals. Abu Garcia 5600 BCX Quantum Accurist Daiwa Procaster (used) This was my first baitcaster only the older model. I still have it and still use it. Never had any problems and I have caught some monsters with it. Good luck with the rod and reel hunt. It'll take a while to get used to the baitcaster but once you do, it's a ton of fun!
  3. Might try for carp. What do you use for carp and what depth do they hang out in? Should I be looking for rock, mud or sand?
  4. One looks bad for starting this thread, the other looks worse for replying. Grow up!
  5. Sweet, I've never fished for steelhead or carp. What do you use for these? I heard corn for carp but how do you rig it?
  6. Hey guys, I'm going to visit the girlfriends parents next week in Collingwood / Wasaga Beach area and I am dying to do some fishing. The thing is that I have no idea where to fish in that area and I won't have my boat so it will have to be done off shore. I did some research and I could fish in zone 16 or zone 14 (Georgian Bay). Looks like all that is off limits is walleye, bass and pike in zone 16 and just bass in Georgian Bay. Does anybody know where I can catch something, anything, off shore that isn't too far away from that area? I don't really care what it is, I just want to fish .
  7. I'm a big Lindner's fan. The Fishing Edge is always informative and tells you what to look for in water to find fish and discusses colours and everything. Mercer's show is cool. I like the format except he doesn't tell you where he fishes sometimes. Scott Martin is a cool concept too. Shows I don't like, well Cronzy is a tool. Aside from the fact that his campfire is completely ridiculous, anybody can go to a lodge and have guides put them on fish. I also don't like that Fishing University show. That guy a billboard and doesn't stop plugging products. Another show I can't stand is Lunkerville. The guy looks like a bum and looks so awkward when he is fishing.
  8. I like Terminator. They are more expensive but they will last almost forever. Made out of titanium so when a big fish hits, it doesn't need adjusting. But I have twice as many cheaper ones as I do the Terminators and they all catch fish.
  9. For the last month I have been thinking about how to set up my boat I bought at the end of last summer. I'm still at school and my boat isn't with me, it's at the cottage, so I can't work on it, I have to wait still.
  10. I have never bought a house but if you can't do what workwear said couldn't you just sell your house, pay it off with the money you get for selling it, then get a new mortgage on the new house? Like I said, I have no clue on what the rules are but it just seems logical.
  11. Boosting it give it enough juice to start, it does for vehicles and its the same principle. Make sure you are hitting the starter while somebody turns the key. You want the starter trying to start and the tapping should free up the brushes if they are rusted. If that doesn't work your starter might be toast but thats pretty simple. 3 bolts or so and a wire connection was all it took on my 83 Johnson a few years back. Somebody might no a way to test the starter, I'm not sure how to myself though.
  12. The longer minnow baits you have will work, husky jerk, original rapala. But my biggest pike, 30 pounder, came jigging for pickerel with a jig and minnow so they will eat almost anything.
  13. Rada Cutlery has probably the best fillet knife I have ever laid my hands on. Not sure if you can get it at any local stores, I got mine for Christmas but man, what a knife. Nice flexible blade and holds an edge beautifully. I would recommend this knife to anybody and it's not that expensive as far as knives go. http://order.radakitchenstore.com/storefro...amp;itm_index=9
  14. If you end up getting the baitcaster, throw spinnerbaits and jigs with it and also lipless cranks. Not much else to add to your list though. You might want to go with a braid on your baitcaster and tie on a fluorocarbon leader when you fish your jigs if you want but it wont matter with the spinnerbaits or lipless cranks because you fish those fast. Good luck!
  15. Looks awesome, what do you do with it in the winter?
  16. Signed up, team is Maverick0140. Where is Bill Dance??? and Rolland Martin?? What the hell? haha
  17. yeah 1.25 in North Bay. Freakin ridiculous if you ask me. Waiting for the States to hit a full recession, that should drive down the prices.
  18. Yes kids, love your "stick". That was hilarious!
  19. If you contact the place where you got it with your card number, they should be able to issue you a new one. The site I got mine doesn't exist anymore so I'm not sure what you would do. I do believe that there was one site that bought a bunch of the others so you might have to call around if you can't find your site.
  20. I'm not sure how it works, I've never been but I will keep you posted on how he does.
  21. They are just starting here in North Bay, a buddy of mine went last night but I haven't heard how he did yet. I will let you know when I hear from him.
  22. I am currently in the process of switching to bags. It is a lot easier to grab a specific box and go rather than grabbing a massive box with everything.
  23. No prob, I searched google and thats what showed up .
