  1. I'm working on getting some up-to-date info to post!
  2. Here's a bit of an overview of the project as of 2008. This was a really good presentation by Jason Borwick, one of the head Biologists running this project...Even if you don't read all of it there are some great photos and charts/graphs. http://www.muskiescanada.ca/lsmrp/2007_LSMRP.pdf Here's some background on the LSMRP http://www.muskiescanada.ca/news.php?article_id=7 There continues to be several hundred to a thousand Fingerelings(7-10") stocked every fall. The plan is not to create a put and take fishery like in many US states but to restore the natural self sustaining Muskie population in Simcoe. Muskies Canada is a pardner in this project, if you want to contribute, Join Muskies Canada, or come out to the Muskie Odyssey in St. Catharines this April and spend some money!
  3. Nice Eyes! And some pretty good
  4. Welcome Mike, impressive first post!
  5. A classy guy, I remember two great playoff runs in 93 and 94!
  6. Those look like the same ones I use, though mine are spring loaded...As stated, they are handy for cutting hooks that are in humans too!
  7. Monster tube!
  8. I just cut the hooks on the Muskie I caught Tuesday, she had the lure sideways in her mouth, a couple points up and down, mouth essentially locked tight. Add to this 2-3 foot chop and It would have been real tough to remove the hooks...I was able to cut them in about 1o seconds and the fish was back in the net underwater...Put new hooks on the Grandma(lure) and was trolling it again in minutes!
  9. Two very nice Lunge! That second one is thick!
  10. I have a Lowrance LCX-27, works well rigging on Lake Ontario, easily marks the DR balls down to about 80 feet. I know alot of guys on spoonpullers.com like the Lowrance HDS units...That would be a good place for this question actually!
  11. Nice fish Brandon!
  12. I haven't had a very good year for Muskies, 5 or 6 fish under 40"...Finally put a good one in the boat this morning, a nice heatlthy Lake Erie girl...
  13. Well, congrats Ryan, you are obviously a very dedicated parent...Sooooo, another one shouldn't be a problem!
  14. Never heard that about a MK PD before, maybe it is haunted???
  15. Nice car, GMs answer to the Altima and Camry...
  16. Most people aren't fogging their 4 strokes, but you can add some fogging oil to the cylinders(not too much) Lower unit oil if being stored in below frezzing temps is VERY IMPORTANT, you don't want a cracked lower unit! Do it anyway and check for H2O! Fuel stabilizer! You should be using it year round anyway! Fuel goes bad in as little as 2 weeks! And of course its not nessasary for winterizing but changing the oil and oil filter in a 4 stroke is a nice thing to do before it sits for months.
  17. Usually change the gear oil in the lower unit, if the motor will be stored outside it prevents any water in the lower unit from freezing. Do it anyway, verify the old oil is not contaminated with water(bad seal)(remove prop, check for monofiliment line that can ruin prop seal) While running, spray fogging oil into the carbs through the air intakes till the motor stalls, this lubricates the cylinders and crankcase for storage. If not draining all fuel, add fuel stabilizer while running to ensure it gets into the engine.
  18. Can't go wrong with Burl Ives!
  19. Nice Muskie!
  20. You'll have to go to the local MTo office and get a plate for it...
  21. It all began with an iPhone. March was when my son celebrated his 15th birthday, and I got him an iPhone. He just loved it. Who wouldn't. I celebrated my birthday in July, and my wife made me very happy when she bought me an iPad. My daughter's birthday was in August so I got her an iPod Touch. September came by so for her birthday i got my wife an iRon. It was around then that the fight started......
  22. Lew, thats a very cool family history, thanks for posting that.
