  1. I can't believe its not been mentioned yet, most important gear to have for Muskie...Proper release tools. #1 a good Muskie specific net, Frabill Big Game, or Big Kahuna(deep boats). Long nose pliers, and most importantly HOOK CUTTERS. Knipex brand mini bolt cutters are worth the extra $$, CT mini 8'' bolt cutters are better than nothing...
  2. A friend is selling an Abu Garcia 7000i, its in great shape as he fishes for Muskie sparingly, he's asking $100 or best offer...PM and I can get you in touch with him if you like, he's in Hamilton.
  3. If its a do-all set up and you plan on some trolling with a rod holder a clicker is a must. An Abu C3 is a good choice. As Cram stated a good choice of rod would be an 8 foot 2-6 oz. Definitely watch the classifieds, you'll get a nicer combo for the $320 if you buy used. Muskie Odyssey....April 25th!
  4. Yamaha 4 strokes are solid motors. Be interesting if they could tell you the hours on it...Not sure on price but I bet they would come down a bit..Go for it!
  5. Just a reminder, if you're planning on going to the Toronto Spring Fishing and Boat Show, that Sunday morning at 730am we're having a great silent auction in conjunction with the 'Muskie' speakers! Custom baits from Hosebait, Brett's Baits, Bare Bones Baits, lodge stays at Wolseley Lodge, Sandy Haven Camp. Guided fishing trips with Mike Parker, Frank DiMarcantonio, and Keith Davison. Doors open at 730am, fishing show starts at 10am. Come spend a couple hours getting your Muskie fix!
  6. Had good luck with the Everstarts from Walmart, I think they only have combo Cranking/Deepcycles now but they have worked great for me for 4 seasons...And before that the single I had lasted 5 seasons....Best price too! And Wayne, if we never talked about something here more than once...It would be pretty boring here...Just sayin'(crusty old....muttering under breath...)
  7. I don't understand the need to have your cranking battery hooked to the onboard charger? Isn't that what your alternator does?
  8. Please explain the misinformation....lol
  9. Apparently Target owes Canadian cities, suppliers and landlords over $5 billion, and their CEO is getting a $75 million bonus, 17,000 Canadians lost their jobs...HECK WITH them, have some stones and do the right thing, don't go near there stores!
  10. I support my local Canadian Tire, I'm always treated good there. I do not go there for fishing gear though! I don't think to many serious anglers are shopping for gear at a Canadian Tire.
  11. It would be nice to see you Sunday morning Lew, its a whos-who of the Muskie world, and your smiling face should be there!
  12. We will be having an amazing Silent Auction Sunday morning along with the Speakers! Guided trips, Custom Baits, etc.
  13. Yellowknife to T.O. just to see Mary-Ann???
  14. Keep in mind the first video is of jetboating UPSTREAM from the Whirlpool, some of the biggest whitewater in North America...
  15. Yup, 1000 hp boat doesn't impress me as much as a paddle...
  16. All nets split fins on Muskies, some worse than others, not the end of the world as they heal...you'll notice split and bleeding fins in a lot of Muskie pics...
