  1. That's awesome Rich! I was probably only in about 5 - 6 FOW under a bridge piling at night. Nice fish again!
  2. NEVER let those people ruin your day! Smile at them and think to yourself "look who gets to fish from a boat on such a nice day!"
  3. nice crappie. I was in eastern ontario a couple of days ago, and I only managed a few very small crappie. Any hints and tips on what kind of structure and depth were you are fishing on? and BTW, are the crappie you caught still spawning? A few of the ones I caught still had spawn left in them.
  4. probably best to wait unless you're willing to gamble with your money. Wait until someone has a review of it somewhere and then you'll know whether you should get it or not. Your other option is the Mojo Bass rods from St. Croix right? If you're in a rush to get a rod, get the mojo then, or you can gamble 100 bucks for the new bucoo. To be honest with you though, the bucoo does look really nice from pictures. I don't know how long that clean/matte look will last because of the EVA foam, and my Damiki rod with EVA foam has turned slightly smooth and glossy after about 2 months of use...about 20 days of fishing or so.
  5. awesome scenery pictures! Good job!
  6. nice job! looks like you did way better than me at fishing this week.
  7. nice to see you catch walleye at the toronto islands!
  8. This is one of those questions where it really depends on the person, the type of braid they are using, and the conditions you are fishing. IMO, the both of these lines cast just as far as each other when you use a two handed overhand cast (on spinning gear). But supposedly, mono is supposed to be the winner when it comes to casting distance. I'm assuming the difference between the two would only be measurable with the computer, and barely noticeable by yourself.
  9. awesome fish dirk!! Haven't heard from you fishing in a while!
  10. Had it once before, they don't taste as good as the saltwater ones...And well, you've read it! You shouldn't be eating them according to the Ministry.
  11. Awesome report and nice pictures!! Glad you're able to take your two year old daughter out fishing so much
  12. Assuming you want crappie in quality, I'd go to Rice lake over simcoe any day. Crappie there are more common and average size I think is better than Simcoe's
  13. Lol Mike. You always ask if you need anything else. You have got WAYYY More than what I have myself, and I can almost assure you that not every single one of those baits are even going to see water in 2009. Get out and get Fishing!
  14. Rapala Contact Us This is the Rapala Canada Contact us site. I've sent in questions and they reply within a day!
  15. Thats some really nice sized fish! Congrats!!
  16. X10000 on Trilene XL! If you're looking into braid, PP and Sufix, you can't go wrong!
  17. care to share where this ad is?
  18. Just be sure to have a variety of colours for the tubes.. I had purple turn on really hot for me for about 10 minutes, and next thing you know, they just refused to hit purple. Switch around, and if there are people around and catching crappie, try and match them. If they aren't catching, change to a new colour. Must have colours : Pink, red, yellow, green, white
  19. I think that you will need a bunch of hooks and sinkers and then make sure you have a few good quality jigheads. Have a bunch weighing from 1/16 to 1/4 ounce. Worms will definitely be the best way to start your kids off, and if they wanna upgrade to using plastics, I think it's time to bring on some tubes and gulp! After that, maybe a couple of rapala countdowns, and maybe even a cotton cordel wally diver. Oh yup, and for your children don't forget the floats. Children would find fishing so much easier if they started with floats. You should also have a variety of sizes, maybe 2 or 3 of each..(a few small ones, a few medium ones should suffice) Gluck in getting your children to go fishing this year!

  22. I say you should probably get what she wants this year since you already asked her, but then I think you will be needing to get her another rod within the next couple of years (Hopefully upgrading to spinning gear). I remember I first started using spinning gear at around 7 or 8..If youre lucky, you can get her to use it earlier!
