On a serious note, I actually snagged this thing right off a trout. Float went down, I yanked on it and thought i was snagged but it was pulling ever so slightly. After a few second of pinging the line this ugly bugger came out at me!

I have laminate all over my house too Sometimes you can get expensive floors that are 'leftovers' from another project for cheap. We just did a bathroom for half price so check that option out

I always used to use daiichi size 12s, but after a ton of pulled hooks two weekends ago (I went 1 for 7 on thursday and 2 for 9 on friday) I switched it up to a size 14 raven specialist and landed 90% last weekend. I find the raven hooks to be larger than most others...also from personal experience DO NOT use the raven sedge hooks, i found them completely useless and I broke two hooks on a 4 lb lead in one day.

Just another point... I personally would GLADLY pay an extra 40 or 50 bucks a year for a fishing license if it meant greater stocking in the great lakes of salmon and trout...and I wonder how many others would do that same?

That bay you are talking about does hold pike but only when the water is high though. I also came across a dead musky in the 45 inch range, just a monster. Problem is its really shallow. REALLY shallow like to the point of birds standing in the middle of the bay some days. Lots of carp though

Marketing ploy or not, its great that they are sending money but we have to be realistic. We stocked a million Atlantics and what...37 came back? When do we cut our losses and start stocking species that we KNOW are going to thrive. I really wish that we could get the Atlantics back, but it just doesnt seem possible and its sucking up a whole lot of money that could be used elsewhere. Im no pro on the subject, but it just doesnt seem to make sense to pour millions into a program that has a success rate that is so low?
