  1. He's saying you're tying a knot regardless. Whether it's to a snap or a hook it really doesn't matter
  2. A piece of rubber tubing over the notch of the spinnerbait will stop the swivel from going down the wire arm. I think they mentioned this little trick on OOD recently as well. I've been doing it for a few years.. Works awesome.
  3. I like crosslocks. Anytime I'm using a crank, jerkbait, spinnerbait, spinner, whatever I'll use a swivel.
  4. Sounds like everyone needs education (river fisherman and the boys out in the blue zone). Bad apples in both groups.
  5. I don't think anyone would have a problem if the charter boat guys also used selective harvest.. A little education goes a long way.
  6. I tried that early on, only to have my oldman yell at me!! :rofl2:
  7. Use your mirrors, small movements of the steering wheel and all will go well. I love watching the guys with their one arm over the seat, looking out the back window snaking back and forth down the ramp, lol!!!!! Backup up a trailer isn't rocket science, just take your time and go slow.
  8. Great shot!
  9. A jighead and half a shrimp will catch pretty much everything. Cast it out as far as you can and rip it back with some big 1-2ft jerks... ladyfish, pomps, sharks, whitings, whatever..
  10. Yeah, the kill boards are pretty brutal. Lake limit should be 2.
  11. Selective harvest and habitat improvement will do more for the fish population then anything else. I take maybe 1-2 fish a year for roe (and those are stateside stocked fish)
  12. If it's spring fed and cold enough, trout for sure.. If not, then bass.
  13. If the boat's crocked on the trailer, give it a little push when it's out of the water. Backing it down the ramp again trying to line it up is an exercise in futility.
  14. Nothing wrong with disposing of fish or keeping your worms healthy to be honest. Another one of mine, pulling your boat up half the ramp then getting out and putting on the tiedowns, etc. Get out of the way so OTHER PEOPLE CAN USE THE RAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Agreed, that's brutal. Or someone who has their fingers up the gill plates about to release a fish...
  16. Some guy asking me if he can keep a steelhead on the Notty standing about 5ft away from the No Kill sign. Although I give him credit, at least he asked, lol.
  17. Pretty sad when it wouldn't cost them a dime or even their time.
  18. Oldman had 18 turkeys in the back yard yesterday
  19. I just put a mark on the inside of the tailgate. Line that up with a specific point on the boat and I'm golden every single time.
  20. Brian, I think we've found a new part time job for you! (Wildlife advisor for CTV?) :)
  21. Doesn't seem like it would take much for the MNR (or other groups) to give those fish a helping hand over the dam...
  22. Let's hope they do that..
  23. Nice laker!
  24. Wow, I got the boat out on Sunday... All I found was 33.8 degree water, lol.
  25. Cliff, I wanna see the check you get in the mail with a return like that!
