  1. Wait, you're not one of those guys that still thinks he needs to run mono for topwaters are you? I've been running braid for topwaters for ages, zero issues... Except of course when I decided to spool up some Suffix 832, lol. Brian, I got tip wrap all the time with 832, especially when fishing topwaters. If you're bombing spinnerbaits you'll most likely be fine with the new PP stuff... Just make sure you're not wrapped before you cast or that $10 spinnerbait will be donated to the lake bottom I run 6lb Nano on the pin but be warned, do not use it when fishing below zero temps.. Ice in your guides will rip it to shreds in no time. If you want to run braid in the winter, try Fireline instead.. Puts up with way more abuse. The zero stretch of braid combined with the pin makes a deadly combination... Especially for those hero hooksets
  2. Lots of crown land out there, quite a bit of private as well... Bass fishing is good if you know where to go.
  3. It's not the bedding that sucks, it's the tip wrap... Way too limp, especially when fishing topwaters. I'm not the only one that hates it, lol. Back to normal 20lb PP for me. Spinning reels get 6lb Nano or 6lb Fireline Crystal. No complaints about either of those. Nano casts further then anything I've used (I also use it on the pin as well)
  4. Almost as bad as Suffix 832.
  5. Hop in the boat and release the bow clip once it's in the water. Same with putting it on the trailer. I didn't like rollers at first (always had bunks) but now I wouldn't trade it for anything. No one is ever waiting for me at the ramp (Which is a giant pet peeve of mine) Also like everyone has already mentioned, if it's crooked, you're putting the trailer in too far. I get the rear rollers wet and that's it. Drive it up, leave the motor on, hook up the strap (plus safety chain), done.
  6. Yeah the game was a bit of a snooze to be honest. Both teams were playing to not lose.
  7. You're not, I catch all kinds of big snakes on a 5 of diamonds Although my go to is still a Johnson Silver minnow with a big 5in white grub on the back.
  8. I love their no haggle policy as well. Wouldn't catch me buying a car there.
  9. Yup, that's still some very reliable transportation for someone. Shouldn't have an issue selling it on Kijiji or similar.
  10. I think I'll hit the store maybe an hour before closing tomorrow. I could use some big Kalins 5in grubs.
  11. It doesn't take a big pike to slash through braid.... 20lb flouro or even mono is cheap insurance for that $15 jerkbait.
  12. Last year isn't like this year, not even close. You forget the winter we had and how much it's delayed the fishing?
  13. If I'm trolling for walleyes, especially in pike infested waters, I always run a 20lb flouro lead... Same goes with jigging, perhaps it's habit more then anything.
  14. They tried the exact same stuff with us this year as well. What a crock of crap.. Glad the oldman had everything.
  15. Find a bunch of similar boats, look at the prices and that should give you a good baseline..
  16. Did you get out this spring on the southern shore? We had some slammers out there early in the season.
  17. Yup, hate the shootouts.
  18. Bluffers is the north shore of Lake Ontario, Scarborough.
  19. Well at least there's bait out there, appears to be about the only thing. August *should* be on fire.
  20. Yess!!!!!! More spoons! lol!
  21. 15-20 marks maybe, lol.
  22. I'm having deja vu.. There's another thread a few down with the exact same questions.
  23. Super cold winter, things are really behind. Maybe a bit of a food die off as well (Smelt, alewife?)
