yes should note--I would'nt jack on a pipe style axle---she'll bend My trailer has a square steel axle running under the trailer frame---that's the spot
-
Is it a real heavy boat?---if so--I'd try to get on the axle If just a light tinny---the frame should be ok Hard to judge without lookin at it

bushart replied to BillsTheBassMan's topic in General Discussion
Again...the Mr. Pike had several versions---I'm pretty sure the older models were very much like a 16 foot tinny Lund the newer ones...get a different hull----and are like a Pro v deep v hull design-----if you find that model for under 4 with a motor---let me know cuz I'll buy 2 -

bushart replied to bushart's topic in General Discussion
Cool My mother was born in 21 in this area my uncles used to work those logging camps How did they end up in Chapleau??...long way from killaloe ok here's a true story...somewhat of a family legend...and likely the basis for many jokes My Grandfather's brother.....decided one day (likely in the 30's) that he was gonna walk thru the bush---to killaloe and grab a bottle (red root is the lore) now that's a good hoof---likely a 3-4 hour walk So he makes it-----gets about 100yds from home---falls and breaks the jug and we're still talkin bout it today -

Hey Guys..I'm Tryin To Deal Some Postive Vibes

Thanks Lew No it's across hwy 60---just a bit up the hill---think it used to be the red canoe cafe -
First let me state I do not know this guy from Adam (or Eve for that matter) Anyway this guy opened a shop in Wilno, On. (just east of Barry's Bay)---so a couple months ago he calls me up after seeing one of my ads and inquires about takin some of my Ced-Art works in his store on consignment. So like many places it's been dead---today I picked up my stuff because I'm takin it to the road--anyway that's not the story. This guy is like many of us----middle aged guy moves north to get away from the nuthouse and try to cut out a livin (how many here have dreamed of this?) Now this person is trying real hard and he just needs to get folks in the door ------he's got a great gift shop with some unique things--and people just drive by?? I think he's feeling a little disillusioned about this venture---so I thought I'd throw this out there If your up in Cottage country and drivin thru Wilno---and the wife is lookin for a quaint shop--maybe you can try it out It's called "Canoe Creek"---got a yellow canoe in front of store ---it's right on hwy 60 in Wilno---they even have Mennonite furniture Now if this guy was'nt tryin at all---I would'nt give this a 2nd thought---but I'd hate to see a guy in need and not try and lend a hand---especially when he's tryin to help himself I truly can respect the courage it takes to make this leap into business.. Again I have zero ties with this Thanks

Lund 16' Mr Pike....looking for reviews and experiences
bushart replied to BillsTheBassMan's topic in General Discussion
If I recall...Lund made a 16 footer with a floor in it----was much like their Alaskan---a step up from a reg 16 foot alum lund Then I believe The Mr. Pike went somewhere closer to a Pro V style So there's several animals out there that could be branded Mr Pike -
What did John Denver sing?....".Rocky Mountain High.....where's the guardrail?" oh yeah..some of those roads down the slippy slide--for some reason are "Sans" guardrails---get close to the edge there and nobody's home
-
A lesson I learned some time back while driving thru the Rockies You know that hill that goes down steep forever --sharp corners--and has 4 runaway truck lanes Anyway..I'm driving thru and as I'm going down the mtn---periodically I step on the brake to slow the ever increasing speed and to negotiate the corners Sooooo 3/4 ways down my brake gets real spongy and is gettin worse---so I stand on the pedal and yank it over to a small clearing Get out to the familiar smell of burning brakes---so We stayed there for a while till the wheels cooled---and I shifted her down into a lower gear for the rest of the decline---driving an automatic trans. I stop at a garage and get him to check out my brakes---called it "Brake Fade"---apparently your brake fluid boils at the cylinders and creates a vapour pocket making your pedal spongy So he says in BC---even regular vehicles like automatics should consider gearing down a bit like the truckers to avoid this-----Never dealt with that before So if I've just saved your skin---please post a pic of yourself in a Sens jersey...2 thumbs up---with a sign saying ..."Leafs Suck"
