  1. Thanks! that explains a lot. It helps to understand why some people could eat so much and not gain any weight when people like me can eat little and not lose much. Not making excuses, but I do come from a family that is not the thinnest of people so we must work harder.
  2. Thanks for sharing. your experience makes me want to try even harder to reach my goal.
  3. How do you explain slow metabolism and fast metabolism? I believe my metabolism is slow and most people will say to that a fast metabolism rate is what is needed for the body to lose weight.
  4. Thanks for all the replies. I have been struggling with weight for a long time. I lost 100lbs one year but we all know that's probably the worst thing to do. I'm not too bad right now most people think I'm around 180-190 but I'm slightly over that. I try everyday to eat healthy and have been able to maintain my weight but would like lose another 30 lbs and keep it off long term. I do find that drinking lots of water helps. I have to be honest I haven't read every post here yet, but I will read them all and follow the best of recommendations. Thanks
  5. Agreed on the fishing. I've walked a lot this year in the name of fishing! And a good mental detox.
  6. lol. worded a little differently now.
  7. Not a new years resolution but have started working on getting more active for better long term health. Trying to do 20 mins brisk walk daily and would like to compliment that with a detox. I am sure some of you have tried this so looking for ideas on homemade blends or food schedules/types that work and won't break the bank lol. There is way too much online so I would like to hear some real experiences of dos and dont's. Thanks in advance!
  8. Jalapenos FTW!
  9. So got a great deal on clearance at factory Shoe. Picked up a pair of Teva Tanza River Sandals. Was the best of the bunch that I tried. Price was not bad $85 taxes in. Fit and arch support was excellent. Thanks for taking out time and giving your recommendations!
  10. thanks for all the replies. I can't believe the amount of research it takes to find the perfect pair of sandals! Basically I have narrowed down my search to Chaco Z/1 or Z/2. Second option is the Teva Terra Fi lite. Thanks Again!
  11. Curious why hydro is charged every second month instead of every month. Or at least that is the way it is here with oakville hydro. I feel monthly is easier to budget monthly expenses.
  12. thanks for the recommendation thus far. Ive read good things about the Tevas and Chris thanks for the heads up as I will check Winners. I was considering Merrell as well but as Lew mentioned perhaps the quality is not the same. Will look into Keen and Eccos as well. Dutch01, thanks for the tip on the boots. Unfortunately I do need sandals for this trip but will keep your recommendation in mind when hiking in tick territory. Thanks
  13. Lookins for recommendations on comfortable and durable sandals for long hiking (3-5 kms hike at one time). Will be used on all types of terrain so a all rounder and should have good arch support. Lighter is better. I know a lot of you are the adventurous type and hike a lot so should get some good recommendations. something like this design. Thanks
  14. just curious, do the bigger size suckers stay in the rivers and creeks this time of the year? or do they head back to the lake? I'm asking because I would like to fish a part of the river that is closed to salmon and trout at this time but open to whatever else is available excluding bass of course. I would head to that spot if there is a possibility of hooking into a sucker but if its all trout, Id rather stay away
  15. Thanks for letting me know what the market is for used. Definitely seemed overpriced from the start but $150 used seems like a good ballpark figure from what Ive seen online.
  16. If is penetanguishene, and I still have it next summer, then its all yours!
  17. Thanks! I knew is was west something. Wow that is quite pricey.
  18. I believe its Westlake or something of that sort. the ratchet is actually telescopic so it doubles in length. I will check the name and report back.
  19. I inherited this tool set. it is some sort of ratchet set with a 1 inch socket head on it. Any idea what this is worth?
  20. I do have plenty of of power cords at home and was actually thinking of how to make one. I have a modem cord and a few chargers from my old cell phones. So what do I do with this power cord? Sorry I am clueless when it comes to electrical stuff.
  21. Good thing I asked lol. Sure I can wait. Please shoot me a PM when you do get back from the cottage. Thanks
  22. Recently bought a cheap fishfinder to use for ice fishing and it came with the standard brick size battery. I have a charger that I use for my car batteries. I assume I can use it to charge the fishfinder battery. Also do I use the charger on the 6V setting or 12V setting. lastly, how long does it take to charge the battery completely? Its the first time I'm dealing with a battery like this so sorry for the newb questions
  23. Congratulations!
