The first is a giant water beetle and the second from the side looks like a helagramite. If it had big pincers it is. Otherwise i think caddis fly would be it

Hi. That lake is in the matheson area and is quite small. It is a fairly private lake surrounded with cottages and gets alot of boating traffic as well as fishing fishing pressure from the residents. Holds smallmouth and walleye and pike but i havent been there in years and at the time the numbers were down. Good luck and practice conservation on that lake.

Totally understand why boots are so well loved. Caught one myself sat morn running 30 lbs and uglier than Bill's. Fresh fish. If it was open water I would of been spooled for sure. Completely under gunned even with salmon gear. Sent him back to tire himself out the preferred way.

When it comes to catching pike this time of year as any fish they are all sluggish due to the fact they are cold blooded. The colder the slower and vice versa to a point. Use a leader and slow down your presentation. Suspended baits, swim baits, jigs all will work. The little jetty at ontario place and boat dock on the other side all hold fish all season so keep tryin. My answer would be to get a big soft plastic swim bait/jig and fish it really slowly along bottom rpund 10 am and onward into the day

One from this weekend on sat morn. Had a couple hours to fish and managed this male. This guy fought like a pissed off king, best fight so far this year.

Not to many will post info on lakes or rivers (especially) since that creates to much traffic. You'd have to pm someone here for a great response. Otherwise if you have a computer use google maps on satelite and check for the river mouths out east on a map of southern ontario. You can't fish any of them past the 401 or cn tracks whatever comes first in how they parallel each other. Hope this helps

Those eggs your talking about come from the west. They have a different modality of pinning there. Those fish are all ocean run so those eggs are designed for them. Looked into it myself but decided that fresh roe from here is better. Basically any row will work this time of year, but match the hatch so to speak. Mostly chinook spawning right now so use chinook roe etc. Centerpin angling carries great stuff i use their roe as well.

They are not around in the fall at all. Your best bet for downtown fishing is either the humber or the Toronto islands. Suckers are spring spawners. good luck

Well size doesn't matter to much with braid as it is always thinner than mono. What you will have to do is put backing on first than knot it to the braid to fill up the spool otherwise you'll need about 600 yards of braid to fill up the pin. Than after that a swivel and then florocarbon and the other stuff to finish the setup. If your fishing muddy to green than the floro isnt necesary depending on the clarity of the water. I typically use two micro swivels for my setup, which aids in line twist and quick retying from breakoffs. Remember setup is everything for success. Trout are finiky about how it looks in the water. best of luck

Hi: I got married in the dominican at Dreams Palm Beach and it was nothing short of amazing. Totally worth time and money (7K) spent. Staff was amazing, as well as food and most importantly the wedding crew. We had to spend only 1 hour on the day after we arrived to set the details and then wait to be married. This is a kid friendly resort with many adult ammenities. Congrats and good luck. Make sure you do your research to make sure when you come home that what you did was valid.

Thanks for the response Jimmer!! I kinda guessed at smallies or lakers due to the fact that it is a "kettle type lake" but you never know if there is anything else in there. Also most of my fishing will have to be done from shore so lakers are out of the question. Its to bad that the MNR has changed up their fishing guide and rule book from the old one with all the lakes and fish species in it. Again thanks for the reply

Hey there: Im from Timmins myself and if you are looking for shore fishing i know a few spots. There is frederickhouse river coming into timmins on highway 101 (big steel bridge past kettle lakes pp) fish under there for walleye sauger pike. Porcupine lake boasts nice walleye and pike from almost anywhere and mattagami river in downtown timmins itself has those as well. The southside of gillies lake has sm bass and kettle lakes provincial park has alot of trout in the park. You can find all this info on the web. Good fishin
