  1. I'm guessing those are co-ordinates..plug'em into a gps or Google maps...or scour zone 18 for Bow lake.
  2. I like where HH is going....I like-a-a-LOT Just flipped thru one online magazine...my favourite article was...who else? A Justin Hoffman piece on bucktail 'eyes
  3. You asked...I think you have to keep an open mind and use ALL the comments to continually be improving your product. Instead of getting defensive, look at this board as an opportunity to receive legitimate, honest feedback. If you have any experience at all (and it sounds like you do) you should expect that not everybody is going to love everything. Just my $0.02. And for the record, no, I don't think you were trying to promote your site for free (the most common form of spam in these parts)...although you might want to keep the flame-retardant suit handy if you don't respond to honest feedback (read: criticism) well.
  4. You can only hope, Terry
  5. Wow...nice!!! As much as I want the ice to come....you gotta try one more week for that monster that got off!!!!!
  6. Hmmm....Baby Emma says she wants a play-date!
  7. Were you trying to copy the look on their faces in the photo? Nice fish, man!
  8. Great attitude!! And a fantastic post! Keep up the great work at school, and on the water
  9. I have to pick just ONE? sigh...okay...but I notice that Ling are missing from the list...you never know....
  10. My simple understanding of it is that wildlife activity increases/decreases along with the position of the moon. The experts take you right down to the minute in terms of when the peak activity will be. I don't put a TON of faith in it, but I do check the times/days before I head out. If it's supposed to be a good day, I make sure my line's in the water at the suggested peak times. If it's supposed to be a bad day, I tell myself the stuff doesn't work anyway An old-timer once told me that fishing is best 3 days after a full moon, and 3 days after the moon is fully out of sight. It actually kind of lines up with the trends that the solunar tables have.
  11. Oh my goodness.... I didn't think ice-fisherman bickered about anything...but we have a new topic -- who's sled is best?!? Stuck at work and can only picture my setup in my head...can't access any pics from here to post But I go on foot most times, pulling the 2-seat fish trap with buddy heater and tackle inside. If the 5-ton plow is on Temagami, then I take the Jeep out there Easy to drive out somewhere between Manito and Bear Island, park, and wander off to start drilling holes. The 8-inch Normark hand auger is still fine with me...new blades in it's 3rd or 4th season had it practically pulling itself through the ice...and where I go I usually have to deal with 3 feet tops.
  12. Nicely done, Jay...you have to get someone to put the camera in the boat without you being aware of it if you want to get the monsters on film. Not that the pike you're holding in that shot isn't a beast...
  13. DOOOD....that's AMAZING!!! Thanks for sharing
  14. Good luck! Could totally be a simple mistake...you'll know more after you talk to someone
  15. Hey, I saw that on the Shant....very very nice!!!
  16. Ooga...me like big bird...Onk..make hungry.... VERY cool...I would love to see that while I'm out!
  17. Local MNR offices also are likely to have lake surveys on file...not so much for navigation purposes, but at least contours of the lake, if locating fishable structure is your goal. You can call ahead and ask if they'll make copies for you.
  18. There ya go...then you know my answer My A-V has been very reliable...they seem to have the most up-to-date product line, and customer service is excellent.
  19. I like my Aqua-Vu...but I'm just wondering...do you already have a flasher/sonar device? I only ask because I bought the camera first, and regret it...wish I had've bought the sonar first....it shows you what's going on from top to bottom, not just one limited window of view. Just my $0.02 If you're getting a camera, go Aqua-Vu
  20. LOL -- I saw you driving up hwy 11 on Saturday, Eddie!! Or at least, someone with a www.eddienorth.com bumper sticker on the back window of their truck cap...beige Chevy pickup...was that youuuu?????
  21. Yeah, Wayne is right....your ears will fall off before the fish dies, so long as you handle it quickly and gently
