  1. :thumsup_anim: way to go!!! I'll be on the ice...somewhere...in 6 short days!!!!
  2. This whole year seems to be 2 years behind last...I'm heading up north on the 20th lookin' for ice! Stop first in Muskoka, then keep going until I find somethin' solid
  3. I'd be happy to settle down with my Panther Martin #20 with gold blade and yellow/red-fleck body. Yeah, #20. I can toss it all spring for shallow lakers and big fat pike. And this coming summer we'll see how it does 30-40 feet down on the lead core...or possibly behind the dipsy
  4. Hmmm....I wonder if you'd try it if Raven and Islander came up with a nice ice-rod combo?
  5. Pay the bills...pay as much of the family's bills while leaving enough to buy a lodge up north and have a reasonable amount to live off of when the lodge doesn't break even. Sighhhhh.
  6. The Vexilar people, eh? They gonna let you bring your Lowrance?!
  7. Nope. I'ze serious!! Don't let me down, man!!! It will be my new avatar...a pic of me and the Arctic Angler :D
  8. 4 inches I'd be out there...maybe wearing a life jacket...definitely with my ice-picks out and hanging at my side, not jammed in my pockets.
  9. Also hit up Angling Specialties at Conderation and Central Pkwy. If you DO end up going there, call me! I GOTTA meet the legendary Drifter!!!
  10. Forty...Eight....HOURS?!?!?!?!?!? Can't wait to see the new layout...thanks for all your hard work, guys
  11. Awww rats! I would LOVE to fish with Dr. Lunge!!!! Obviously you're prolly out there by now, Wayne...good luck!
  12. Excellent topic...ridiculously tough choice. I'm torn between Musky and Brookies...even though they are fish I've caught the least of...they're the ones I most enjoy pursuing. Ultimately would have to hand it to the brookies, based on being able to ice fish them, track them down in smaller, quieter waters, and fry'em up!!!
  13. Well there ya go...I wonder if he's related to the guys that always seem to be sitting at the Port Credit pier...never seeming to catch anything...all year...any time of day or night...
  14. Lookin' good, Wayne. Not exactly the time of year for it now...but are people allowed to fish from shore there?
  15. welcome aboard, icceman....I see you were waiting for first ice to make your first post Keep the updates coming, my good man!!!!
  16. saw this report at work this week, but pics wouldn't show....finally getting to enjoy it now. Nice work, man!
  17. I don't see a problem with it...too bad that people can't keep things clean, but, it is what it is. Thanks for the post J R

    Ice

I'm with Terry for 2nd week of Jan. on the big lake. I was on 4 inches of very fresh ice at BBP last year on Jan. 9th...this year is a little bit behind, but hopefully by the new year, we'll have had enough cold weather to close the gap.
  19. Hey...we all gotta start somewhere...nice fish. Occasionally, you will see through the flames on this board that it can be a wonderful place for learning and self-improvement...if you've been bitten by the muskie bug, and want to catch more of them while ensuring their healthy survival, you will pick up all kinds of tips from the folks and links on this board. Congrats, on the fish...thanks for posting...and welcome to OFC
