  1. Thanks for the kind words Garry ....now for the true story: I arrived on site and Garry and his daughter are there slugging away, they have this fellow installing a new front and back entry system. Apparently it was a very difficult install as he was on the install 3 or was it 4 days. As well Garry forgot to mention that he installed all the light fixtures, all of the plumbing fixtures, and all the upstairs laminate. All I did was the lower floor, screwed up some cabinets on the walls, some case and base and a little bit of odds and ends. Garry is a good student! The admission has to be made that the whole week one of us was grumbling, "Teach a man to cast, and he'll spend days putting laminate flooring down" All in all it was fun, despite the company
  2. I will be there in the afternoon as well, just look for the guy with 4 teenagers with him. Oh, you might be able to figure out who I am from my van as well...
  3. Neither a bender or a lowerer be......or something like that.
  4. Made me look...
  5. Thanks for that info! I guess I will have to find another venue.....As Blake was saying Binbrook may be a good alternate, but a bit far to go for the pig roast afterward. It is in Copetown area.
  6. I am looking at setting up a fundraising fishing tournament for a group home that my wife is the executive director of. The whole thing needs to be started from scratch, and will be targeted at a specific population. That means it will not be open to the general public. The place I am thinking about is Valen's Conservation area due to the following reasons: 1 It has handicapped fishing facilities so the residents can participate 2 There are lots of family activities, as the target population tends to have large families 3 It is centrally located to Brantford Cambridge area where most of the target population lives. Given these limiting criteria what do you suggest I do to attract sponsors? Does anyone know of another suitable venue keeping in mind the above criteria that I could approach? Do I need any permits, etc to do this? The planned date is July 11 I anticipate a turnout of 25 - 40 participants at the most. Any advice is welcome.
  7. And the best thing is...............you can give them back! On the other hand that can also be the worst thing....*sigh*

  12. I don't know anything a these covers, but I would let them install it, that way any scratches are their problem. Not that they will, but if you do it yourself, if it does happen there is no recourse.
  13. Waiting with the fishbonker....
  14. So there I am, sitting on the side of the road when this fellow goes zooming by horn blaring, lights flashing the works. I end up behind him at a light, and his door opens, he gets out, walks towards me in my van, calls me by name and say I'm radnine from the board. Good thing I let go of my fishbonker. Nice to have met you, next time let's meet up on the water.

  18. Thanks for your help today with my motor troubles, I appreciate the time you both took. It must have been fun to watch such a stubborn person not give up untill it was well past obvious that it was not gonna happen. I hope this is not a sign of how my season is gonna go.... PS the skunk is still strong *sigh*
  19. Nah, a 12 gauge if its a shark...
  20. Yes it is a hijack, but a quizz dockside will allow you to rent a boat...go figure!
  21. Quit pontificating, possibly the pointless pursuit of pushing a poorly used pronoun to the past is fruitless.
  22. I would suggest that you use a marine grade adhesive, (if a hole can be avoided that is a good thing) and when you are lining up the transducers try to make sure they are parallel to the bottom of the water body. As well, you will want to make sure that the transducers are on different frequencies to eliminate interference and false readings.
  23. Everything that sinker said, along with the appropriate safety gear. Any marine store will have what you need. One PFD per passenger, and a HEALTHY respect for the water Happy boating!
  24. I fish that spot too! Nice kitty
  25. When are the cats gonna be running again??? Early April, or mid April...I hope to hook into some of them again this year!
