  1. Hey Toronto Angler I was just there with no luck. An OPP boat stopped us and even said rice lake was a hit and miss sometimes anyways wishing you luck. By the way where is that cliff in your avatar???
  2. So my friends and I decided to go to Rice Lake since I've heard amazing things about recently and when I was there a few monthes ago it did seem promising. We rented a pontoon since there was 7 of us and started the day on the southern side of Rice Lake. Right off the dock my friend dipped his line in with a worm and caught a small perch right off the bat. Off to a good start right? Once we hit open waters we used crankbaits, jigs and worms. Didn't feel a single pull. Moved the pontoon around a feel places until we hit a golden spot for panfish, caught tons of perch, huge sunfishes and some rockbass. All in all was an amazing day out on the waters with friends even if we didn't hook a single bass (our target).
  3. Thanks a million evster! I'm heading there tommorrow either island lake or rice. I'll report back here.
  4. Do you have any tips what area I should try and go? I like to head there sometime this week?
  5. Amazing catch! when you mean foot bridge, do you mean that metal walk way in the area that like separated into many sections??? I was just there a few days ago and the end closest to the parking lot is covered in weeds and duck droppings so nasty there now. Before it was clean and clear what happended?
  6. I too can say I'm addicted. I haven't even caught any fish that I can be proud of, yet I still love fishing!
  7. I enjoy fishing at Humber Bay park as well. Anyone ever caught any fish in those 3 ponds surrounded by the wooden broadwalk??? I caught a perch and saw carp in there.
  8. Thanks for all the tips! Sounds like the water level really is a problem this year. The lake is recommeneded as a catch & release.
  9. Where is this pier exactly??? I would like to give it a try. Do you need a 10' plus rod for this? or will my 6'6" medium action do ok?
  10. Has anyone fished at Island Lake Conservation Park formerly known as orangeville reservior. They have boat rentals there and on the site the lake is listed as having pike, perch, LM bass and crappie. I called the park as well and they said water levels are a bit low this year so it's really weedy and hard to find good spots. Any feedback on this lake would help thanks a lot.
  11. love this site, hope it doesn't slow down during the cold monthes.
  12. Amazing report MJL! very detail and exciting to read. I too enjoy carp fishing but have almost no idea where to start besides the fact that they like canned corn lol. We must go fishing sometime, I'm in the gta area as well. I never knew there were so many things needed for serious carp fishing.
  13. Nice report and nice catches! My girlfriend and I were fishing there back in May and didn't have any luck. Caught only sunfish, catfish and crappies. Did you rent the boat from anglers retreat? We should go fishing sometime together my gf and I and the same age group as you guys and we are from the gta as well.
  14. right outside bass lake provincial park about 1km is a place with firewood for sale. It's like $4 a bag.

  16. Hi All, So i'm heading up to Bass Lake tommorrow for some fishing and camping. I was just wondering if anyone have ever been here. I mean the name of the lake itself hopefully self describes the fish in the lake. It's a provincial park and fairly close to Orillia so I was wondering if there would any good fishing there?
  17. That is crazy!!! I don't know how they could catch a shark from shore.
  18. The ugly stick are a good price at bass pro as well. Does bass pro ever have sale on crankbaits made by rapala?
  19. Ya I let one of them try and it wasn't able to break my skin. But you sure can feel the suction.

  24. I would have to agree with FamilyFIsherman. Toronto Island is the best urban spot to catch fish in T.O.
