  1. I have had pics done at the Costco in Burlington and they are poor quality. I found even the standard pic sizes didn't turn out the greatest. Based on what others have said above, it sounds like not all stores have the same printers though. You can refuse to accept the pics if you are not happy with the quality.
  2. I caught a walleye at night 2' out from the rocks beside the pier. There are also cats, carp and drums around. See PM for more specific details.
  3. My motor has a similar idle speed to yours and a drift sock can put me around .9 - 1.3 mph. I only tried it once so far, but I do find boat control is much more difficult with the drift sock out and hooked onto the bow (even with a tiller). Not sure if I had too much rope out on the drift sock (10') or if the 2' chop was moving the drift sock off alignment with the bow. Maybe somebody with some more experience in doing this will chime in. Drift sock ain't bad to have in your arsenal anyways for those rough days when you want to drift. They start at 35$ish for the smaller ones and increase in price for the bigger ones.
  4. There are a couple in the Hamilton area: Bay City Marine and Dundas Marine. Be glad to pick up the required parts for you. I work near 401/Keele in Toronto, so you could meet me there to reduce your trip. Send PM if I can help.
  5. I believe the shop is called Anjen. Based on my searches, he seems to be the only Toyota tech around our area (aside from dealerships). I was wondering if he was good, thanks for chiming in. He has always been honest and gets everything fixed the first time?
  6. Thanks for all your responses guys. Cleaned the battery terminals and she fired right up. The positive lead I could have pulled off by hand how loose it was
  7. Old Ironmaker: its all apprentices working at RedHill, which really concerns me. They don't even remove skid plates to change oil. I get home and see puddles of oil on my driveway and then to be told, they didnt clean it up properly. That is something it definetely could be Bill. They were also notorious for bad connectors on starter.
  8. Having issues with the 4Runner intermittently starting. 1 week ago I go to start it and it wont go. Open up the hood to look for anything visible and nothing. Just as my friends dad is bringing jumper cables I decide to try it again and it fires. It worked for 1 week flawlessly after that. Last night it did it again at the gas station, but I got it to start after repeated attempts. When I got home, if would not start again, same with this morning. The dash on the lights come on half the time and the other half the time they don't. When they do come on they turn off when I turn the key past a specific point. When they remain on, the car starts. When the lights are off on the dash, no other electrical in the car works either ie) windows, door locks. Thinking I need to take it in somewhere. Anybody know of any good Toyota mechanics in Hamilton and surrounding area?
  9. Nice report. That eye looks VERY healthy with beautiful colours.
  10. If you want to venture to the West Arm I could give you a few pointers for the walleye. Shoot me a PM if interested.
  11. I would guess majority are trying to hide that they are texting while driving and maybe they read a funny message.
  12. I have only ever seen brake dust on the wheels.
  13. Glad everything worked out. Its amazing how wreckless people are out there. I found this past weekend on Rice Lake that alot of the bass boat guys love to pass within only 100' from you.
  14. When I was younger we did pretty good there for catfish during the summer, particularily where the stream splits to the left, away from the main river. My neighbour also fishes there with waders in the main river area and does pretty good.
  15. I had the pleasure of riding in Gerritt's Polar Kraft and had no complaints. Maybe he can chime in further.
  16. Just got back on Sunday after a 4 night trip and no pickerel to be seen. Water is very warm. Back at er again this weekend. If you see a 14' Princecraft with a 40hp Evinrude with a big dude and small dude in the boat, thats me, holler.
  17. Try near the Caledonia Dam. If your not after any particular species, I would just cast out a worm.
  18. Awesome report Mike, thanks for sharing. So nice to see such a young lad with such a strong passion and initiative for fishing.
  19. I stripped my winch handle on a fairly light set up and am beginning to question the quality of the winch. Saw a 1200lb at Princess Auto with the steel cable for $30. Those who use winches with steel cables, do you prefer it over the strap? Does the steel cable rust? I am open to suggestions for good quality winches.
  20. Nice report. If you keep feeding that bear it will associate humans with food, be careful.
  21. Assuming you have a pick up truck, try finding a place that rents truck campers that sit on the bed. Then you could tow boat and truck camper. Take a look on kijiji too I have seen ads where people rent their trailers out.
  22. If you do decide on Lakair, send me a PM I have spent many weeks up there chasing exclusively pickerel. I second what aplumma said, the Prospector tent at Lakair is nice. If I remember correctly I believe it was 50$/night. I have yet to fish a lake that is more scenic than the West Arm.
  23. My understanding was that you could only pull a boat behind a camper trailer if the camper is hooked up to truck with a 5th wheel.
