  1. Spending a few grand on a boat and cheaping out on the thing that may save your life does not make sense. Get inflatables...worth the $200 cause you will wear it. All life jackets suck if they are on the seat when you get tossed.
  2. Geez..read the post. I live 30 KM away from the store but it is on my route to work. I rearranged my day to get the tire done. I had an early morning appt Tuesday which required travelling on the hiway. U can't do that on a donut spare. Had the sign been accurate, I would have made different arrangements and not had to have had to make alternate travel arrangements for Tuesday morning. I worked Monday so only had the one shot to get it done. All I am upset about is that they did not mention that their core component...the reason they ever existed..was not part of what was open. An oversight like that to me is either intentional or stupid.
  3. Hmm...32 clicks on the banner. Not that there's anything wrong with that
  4. That was my point exactly Huey. I am not belaboring anyone's vacation..just let me know what the score is. I bet if you went into Bass Pro Shop and they had a section closed for the holiday..the one section you were there for, you would not be happy if they did not make this known ahead of time. If Canadian TIRE is not selling TIRES that day, I would find that worthy of pointing out to people. I found a local shop down the road and got some nice new Michelins at a really great price today The factory messed up the paint job on the whitewalls, so I got a lovely discount....I mount them whitewalls in anyway.

  6. I work STATs...every one of them, so did the rest of the CTC store..just not auto..which is fine...just let us know.
  7. I came out to the employee parking lot to find a flat in my rear left tire. Not surprising..original tires on a 2001 vehicle. I work in Niagara Falls and after changing the tire tot he spare, noticed the main sign in front of the CTC saying "Open Victoria Day 10-6"..awesome since I work till 8 and getting it done that night was not possible. Dorve by the CTC by my place in St Catharines and their sign said Outdoor Center Only Open Monday. I rearranged a few things at work to be at the store right at 10 am. Got there right on time and went to look at some tires and then saw a sign... Auto Service Closed..Sorry for the Inconvenience.!! I asked the guy in parts and he said no one was around to do tires. Can't buy tires at CANADIAN TIRE!! Everything else was available except service. There was room on the sign to say 'Open Victoria Day 10-6..Auto Service Closed'. Then at least I could have looked around elsewhere..now stuck another day driving on the donut (which BTW, when they say don't go over 80 KM/H..they really mean it..like trying to drive a sleigh). Oh, CTC, how I loved thee...but now it is time to part ways. My two new tires will have to come from somewhere else...as will my fishing purchases, tools, paint, flashlights (I wreck alot of flashlights) and the rest of the few thousand I likely spend in there a year. If you cannot figure out that mentioning your auto service being unavailable might be important to people, it leaves me with no confidence in the rest of your policies. Too bad..you have some great people working there.
  8. Helping him untangle lines and what not is fine, but that being said, getting him a license may be a thrill for him and start him on the path of understanding our responsibilities to our resources.
  9. We have different culture and a different goal than europe. I think chronzy is off the mark here. We are adding more and more slot limits to reduce harvest. No C&R would devastate the fishery.
  10. If I can lift 25 pounds twice does that count?? Thanks for giving OFNers first shot at the job, Percher!
  11. Dunno what it was but they rebooted us and all was well.
  12. Because of the different bill, I was thinking snow/domestic cross. There should be no snow geese here this time of year.
  13. I saw this bird tonite. It was huge. Almost swan sized...much bigger than a Canada Goose. The colours were exactly like a seagulls.. I looked through the Ducks Unlimited site and saw nothing close. Maybe some kind of hybrid??
  14. Okay...everyone take a time out... Remember that the summary of the regulations you get are NOT THE LAW. The law does not say you must immediately release a fish..it just says you cannot possess said fish. It goes the same for out of slot fish...you may not possess the fish, but THE LAW does not say you must do it immediately...same deal with a musky on a conservation license. The LAW is written in two parts, one Federal, one Provincial with Provincial being the lions share. Now go read the LAWS not the readers digest version. Even the summary this year gives an unofficial okay to take a pic in its release directions.
  15. SWEET! Nice craft for sure, bud. It might even make you smile a bit
  16. Perhaps you exceeded the recommended load maximum. Sorry your foot hurts bud. Thankfully fishing requires little foot strength.
  17. Had my meniscus shaved 15 years back..felt like a new knee within 4 or 5 days. No problems since.
  18. I think a tact to take is that you do not sell the same product. Yours are sausages or all beef foot longs...theirs are 'by product meal' poop on a bun.
  19. At the same time...we do have to stand up occasionally and say we have the right under law to fish here. we cannot keep backing down to appease those who buy up the shoreline. I have fished MANY marinas and have been yelled at. My reaction ranges from ignoring, to talking to showing them a copy of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act showing that they are breaking the law by harassing me. They do not own the water or the fish in it...we do. And if a storm blows up they actually MUST let you tie up until it is safe.
  20. Well it looks like it doesn't matter now. CNN just did a story and one of the interviewees was the head of Ontario's Health Dep't says this has probably been going on for two or more months and we are just now getting confirmation as all the pieces came together. Containment is no longer possible but it appears the cases in Ontatio and the rest of Canada have all been mild. Thinking back to a few weeks ago when I was sick..I am left to wonder. Many of my friends have been to Mexico over the last 2 months.
  21. Just make sure the line goes to the decoder THEN to the VCR...if that doesn't work, the VCR may be incapable of receiving a digital signal...depends on how old it is. I miss my old beta-max.
  22. stay on track here guys..its about the motor..not CTC.
  23. I have heard that doctors are giving out letters to patients that they have an inner ear infection and cannot fly so that cancellation is free though cancellation insurance..but it appears the airlines and such are now waiving penalties cause i would imagine the flight staff doesn't want to go either... Personally i think we need a travel ban until it has been contained. My buddy was going to go next week and said that the Mexico gov't website said the flu was contained to one state there...i reminded him he doesn't even trust our gov't yet he was willing to trust theirs...he cancelled.
  24. They are made by Parsun Motors. They are a Chinese import. the Australian Magazine/TV Show 'Fishing and Boating' (F& has a video review and actually gave them very high marks, but did include the caveat of the unknown long term performance because they have just arrived. http://www.seamedia.com.au/streamingVideo/...-2stroke_lg.php
