That link isn't working, maybe because if you make an allegation? You are supposed to be able to prove it? -

No clue, it doesn't seem like it was handled properly to me? Years ago at a tournament at an area lake two guys pre fishing snagged a piece of wood with a line attached. At the end of the line was a live bag with a limit of good sized bass in it. They clipped the fins on the bass slightly, lowered the bag back down and reported it to the tournament director. The next day, day of the tournament, the would be winners tried to weigh in fish with their fins clipped. Both were locals that lived on the lake and had won there before and rarely did well elsewhere. They got booted and never showed again. In this day of cell phone cameras? A bit more concrete evidence? Anyone can make an accusation? Or plant alleged evidence? -
Sing, there should be some good weather left. I am just guessing but the shorter days probably affects water weed health and growth also?

Nipissing First Nation discussions with MNR

Last week's grocery sale ad had fresh caught Lake Erie Walleye at 16.99 a pound, yikes! So far Ohio has resisted all attempts by some groups to allow commercial netting of them again. The money generated by sport fishing only for them is huge, and gets passed around to a lot more pockets. -
Cool! How far north are you? We just ended one of our hottest weeks of the summer, but the days are getting noticeably shorter. The cold front is hitting here with a high of 62 today, it was pushing 90 all last week.

Raf, when I was young diesel was always cheaper than gas, then the demand grew! If you get better mileage from it? They charge more for it? LOL
-
My son's buddy told me he saw it about 15 miles north of me for 1.97 a gallon this week. Fridays it seems like the prices magically go up for the weekend here.

http://www.gasbuddy.com/ If you know where you are going it may help? 2.29 here, they have a 10 mile monopoly.

I fished Pointe Au Baril from 63-64 to 88-89, it was rare to see someone in camp with a Muskie, but always worth a look when someone did manage to land one! Some huge fish! We never caught a small one, and never managed to land a big one! We got to see ours as they swam away! Totally unprepared! LOL I have hooked them there that I was pretty certain would have been 50 or over. Like trying to stop a torpedo on bass tackle. http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p3571995 http://www.tripadvisor.co.za/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g2457799-d6002304-i89530062-Rock_Pine_Resort_Cottages-Pointe_au_Baril_Northeastern_Ontario_Ontario.html google pointe au baril muskie pictures or moon river muskie pictures, they still seem to be around?

Looking For Weedy Pike Bays on the St. Lawrence River
OhioFisherman replied to MrSimon's topic in General Discussion
Sounds about right Mike, there are a couple of places off of Lake Erie here where you might catch one very early in the spring, but they disappear around early May. Spawn and gone! -

Mr. Simon, it's sort of interesting, I don't even see hardly any videos of pike fishing on the St. Lawrence on youtube. http://www.letsgofishin.us/Pikeimages This site has some pictures, but they seem to be based around Massena NY? The first couple of days of the recent tournament there had 6+ pound largemouth as big bass, but they didn't say in what area they caught them. Some of those weedy bays have to hold some good largemouth? -
I agree with Old, Lake Erie can be hot for big smallies and walleye in October, some of the biggest of the year. Here on the Ohio side we don't usually see any snow to speak of until around Thanksgiving in November, and some years after that. It is big water though, and prone to blow when the gales of November come early. Planning a trip here that time of year here puts you in the same position I had trying to plan a trip north in September, it's a long way to go to hit bad weather? It was 90f here yesterday, and still around 80 at midnight, they are saying we could see temps in the 40's at night by the weekend. That will be our first major cold front of the end of summer season, it won't last, but that is what we always tried to time our guy trips north around. Guys on the board used to do a BOQ thing in the fall? Big walleye there too.

Night Fishing Small Mouth/ Mississauga lake
OhioFisherman replied to Cloudy15's topic in General Discussion
Not sure, you're losing the hook? Set the drop line deeper. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/dropshot-hooks/845120.aspx With this type of hook it is pretty easy to tie it to your line and use a lighter line below for the weight. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/fishing-sinkers/345490.aspx With this type of weight and a rubber peg, constant pressure should allow the line to slip the weight if it becomes snagged. -
There is a couple from the 1980's, the small one was 18 inches, Lake Erie had them in the 60's and 70's too.

Night Fishing Small Mouth/ Mississauga lake
OhioFisherman replied to Cloudy15's topic in General Discussion
http://www.anglersatlas.com/media/photos/previews/medium/708681.jpg Looks like a much deeper lake than most I have fished, but smallies at night? A small jig and pig, jig and plastic around rocky shores, reefs, flats, they sometimes move real shallow to feed. Just from the poor quality map in the link? They don't seem to have to move far to find deeper water, beating the shoreline at night might not be a bad plan. -

Many years ago Rick O'Banion or Gerritt mentioned FireFox in thread, I made the switch then and haven't looked back. -
