Wanted to go pickup some berkley plastics and planos ... guess going from Oshawa to the location is definitely NOT worth my time. Reels ... no JDM models. Rods ... no St Croix, Phenix, 13 Fishing, Halo, Kistler. Lures ... no Megabass, Imakatsu, Nories, Lucky Craft, Duo Realis, Keitech, Jackall, OSP. Lines ... no FINS, Sunline, YGK. Dropped off the wife to work on Saturday (she was working in Richmond Hill). Was curious as to what kind of deal the G Loomis Rods would be at so decided to swing by the Woodbine location ... this was around 2pm Saturday. Ooops ... made a right on Highway 7 to go south on Woodbine ... GOSH! The lineup of cars trying to get into the damn puny parking lot. A crap load of people lining up just to enter the building. Didn't bother to make a left turn into the FULLY JAMMED parking lot. So I hung a left at Yorktech Dr. and then made my way to Bass City (Highway 7 and Kennedy Rd.) in the Subway Plaza just past the railway tracks ... Had a much better time there looking for a rod to replace my 6'6" Clarus. Bass City has a way better selection of crankbaits, rods, lines.

Steeles/Taunton ... take my time ... no rush ... besides ... gas is cheaper in Ajax/Whitby/Oshawa ... so I fill up on my way ... Then get onto the 35/115 ...

Well ... some people are more concerned about work than fishing ... I really don't understand ... life is not all about working ... why work 6 days a week for a firm and have only one day to rest? It's not like they care about your well-being ... if the hierachy cares ... they would hire more staff ... Why worry about other client's finances when you don't have time for yourself to enjoy life? Who cares! The office is strictly for Mondays to Fridays ... weekends are to relax ... regardless if you fish or don't ... If work piles up in the office ... so be it!

Ontario Human Rights Commission releases report on assaults on Asian-Canadian anglers May 13, 2008 03:51 PM Noor Javed STAFF REPORTER Racism was the primary motivation in physical and verbal assaults against Asian Canadian fishermen, according to a report released today by the Ontario Human Rights Commission. “Racism played a role in the harassment and assault of Asian Canadian anglers,” said Barbara Hall, the chief commissioner. “It also reaffirmed racial profiling exists and that successful communities acknowledge that and take steps to combat it,” she said at a press conference in Markham this afternoon. The report entitled Fishing Without Fear offers solutions and commitments to address discrimination in communities across Ontario. The report outlines 50 commitments aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future. The commitments are the result of consultations with 21 community organizations. Initiatives range from information brochures to providing racial profiling training to conservation officers. Police in Georgina, where many of the incidents occurred, will also launch a project this fishing season aimed at monitoring popular fishing sites for problems. The inquiry was launched last November after at least eight Asian anglers were assaulted in various places in southern Ontario. The latest report comes just days after recent reports of two such incidents in the Simcoe area. Police are investigating.

After cleaning the fish ... sprinkle black pepper on the fish ... then use bacon strips to wrap around it ... loosely wrap foil around the fish ... put on a grill ... 15 minutes later ... dig in!!!

The fish were all scaled and then cut open to remove the gills and internal organs. Then cleaned with salt by rubbing the salt on the fish ... to get rid of the dirt on the skin and fins. All the bluegills were fried slightly and then dumped into the pot to boil. We boiled it for about 3 hours .... with tomatoes, potatoes, onions .... everything melted .... the soup was awesome. added some black pepper as well. Actually three bottles of whisky! Don't forget the Chivas! It was a blast!

Went camping with a few friends for the Victoria Day Long Weekend. Finally had time to get the pics together. A little bit of fishing ... all on the shore ... just behind our campsite. Caught a few decent ones ... bass ... all photographed and released. A lot of bluegills ... all used to make soup. Beautiful Sunset. A nice family enjoying a little swim Terry's 2lb Smallie Freddy's 12" Crappie My 12oz Smallie My 2lb Bucketmouth (2 shots) Our Catches ... all cut up and cleaned Some of our catches ... in the pan ... In our soup ... Wrapped by Bacon to go on the grill ... Our drinks .... 5 cases (Saturday noon till Monday morning) ... plus 2 bottles of Canadian Club and 1 bottle of Chivas (mixed with Green Tea)! Our fire ... The Crew!
