  3. Good stuff bro! Maybe see u at the walleye opener???
  4. The ONE and ONLY Canadian Team left .... gotta give it to them! GO SENS GO! (although I really hate Alfredsson)
  5. I only go to this tackle store and I live in Markham. Since I go on the 401 a lot ... it's actually more convenient: AV Fishing Tackle 4830 Sheppard Av. E., Scarborough ON M1S5M9 Tel: (416) 293-8228 Location: ONE Traffic light east of McCowan Rd. on the North side of Sheppard Av. E. in the Tim Horton's Plaza (@ Shorting Rd.) http://www.yellowpages.ca/mp/ON/null/A%2BV...0056345007.html
  6. the park on south lakeshore rd ... keswick
  7. Since you're going there .... head over to Golden Lake Chinese Restaurant ... the food there is great! Rr 2, Golden Lake, ON K0J 1X0 (613) 625 2366 http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formt...ON&zipcode=
  8. COs should have showed up at the park in Keswick .... they'd make lots of money for the government. They should send the entire squad there so they could catch all those people that fish without a license and those who take OS fish.
  9. I agree with the testing. Some people can't even tell the difference between fish. Like this past weekend at Keswick .... these Mainlanders caught a perch. They called it a "Long Fish". Then they caught a bass ... they called it a "Long Fish". Next they caught a bluegill ... guess what? They called it a "Fat Fish". They then landed a tiny crappie ... and ... yes ... they called it a "Fat Fish". Of course ... they put every single fish they caught in the bucket. However, they knew catfish ... why? Obviously the whiskers gave them the clue. I believe their is a fishing guide in Chinese printed by the Ministry. But unfortunately they might not understand the stupid guide since it is written in proper Chinese (Traditional Chinese Characters) as opposed to what they were educated in (Simplified Chinese Characters). Sucks not to see any COs around the area ... especially when these losers take everything regardless of size. Pathetic!
  10. Arrived at around 5am .... dark. Then a whole poop load of Mainlanders showed up .... causing lots of noise. So damn annoying those people. No fishing etiquette. No respect for the locals .... who are deeply in their sleep. Caught about 14 5 inch crappies, a couple of perch, one bluegill and a 12oz. largemouth .... all returned to the water. Caught two decent sized catfish for Mom to make soup. These Mainlanders kept everything (a lot of catfish, bluegills, perch) including a couple of bass. One guy landed a northern and released it. The Mainlanders said that the guy was stupid to release the northern and that he should of kept it. Obviously the guy ignored these incompetent people. Too bad the COs did not show up .... or else it would have been a great seen .... a few of them (I am guessing) did not have a license ... esp. the women.
  11. Division 6. Refer to the Regulations on MNR Site. http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/pubs/pubmenu.html#fish
  12. That's Division 15. What's open? Perch, Crappie, Trout, Splake, Pacific Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Whitefish, Sturgeon, Channel Catfish
  13. I totally agree with Sinker. I don't believe crappies kill the population of walleyes/pickerals. There is no concrete evidence that this is true. Myths have always been misinterpreted as the truth. Until studies of the feeding habits of crappies comes out ... then I will believe in this myth.
  14. any marina's accesible on scuggog for shore fishing?
  15. I use a spreadsheet and different coloured lines.
  16. I have the Okuma Metaloid MDS-30 (Gear Ratio: 6.3:1; Weight: 11.5oz; Ball Bearings: 9+1; Capacity: 250/6 200/8 170/10; Spare Aluminum Spool included) .... bought on eBay in 2004 for $58 (shipping included). Currently have one spool with Cajun Red Cast 8lb; the other Vanish Transition 8lb. It's paired with my 7' 2-pc G Loomis IMX SJR842-2 (Fast Action; Medium Power; Lures 1/8-3/8; 6-12lb)
  17. 5 inchers and you kept them? Gosh! I turn a blind eye on anything that is less than 8 inches on crappies. Such small ones should be released.
  18. The first fishing trip of the 2007 Season was CRAP! We went to a place called Half-way Haven Marina (off Simcoe). Landed ONLY one Crappie (10") and three Perches (longest being 9.75"). Horrible! The Indian lady charged us $5 a head since it was our first time there. Her regular charges (for the purchase of coupons) to use her docks were: 5 coupons/$50; 10 coupons/$75; 20 coupons/$100. Each time you go to the place, there is a drop off box for either $10 per person or one coupon per person.
  19. I would go with this combination: G Loomis DSR822S ... 6'10" (Line 6-12lb; Lures 3/16-1/2oz; Extra Fast Action) plus Shimano Stradic MgFA ST2500MgFA (4BB+1RB; 6/200, 8/140, 10/120; Gear 6.0:1; 8.4oz.)
  20. Or .... maybe give these guys a call: A V Fishing Tackle 4830 Sheppard Ave E Scarborough , ON M1S 5M9 (416) 293 8228 MAP: http://411.ca/webdisplayservlet?cname=av+f...=1&id=21406
