  1. Awesome fish! And great report, thanks for the info and the good read!
  2. This weekend my wife and I toured around Bruce Peninsula to do some sight seeing and get some pictures. We went to some places suggested by Deano and also found some of our own. This one was taken at Bruce Caves near Wiarton. These are really amazing caves carved into the Niagara Escarpment. These ones were taking at Lion's Head lookout. An amazing view of Georgian Bay, the pictures don't do it justice. An abandoned old truck we found in the bush. These final pictures were taken in Southampton. The sunbeams coming down from the clouds were just amazing. It was a great place to hike and see amazing views. Recommend it to anyone! I think we'll be going back before the end of the year.
  3. Those are all amazing pics! Great work. The sunset ones are so warm.
  4. Nice bucket! You'll be hooked on them for sure!
  5. Great bass! Congrats man! Just showed my wife the post and she made the comment "that last one looks like my kinda fish"! So you've impressed her as well!
  6. Nice work! That water you're fishing looks amazing.
  7. I have learned a ton of info over the past year and most of it has come through pm's to board members. I find most people on here who are actively posting reports are the most helpful and willing to share information in a pm. I have also had people ask me for tips or help on a location I fished and I gave them every last ounce of info I could remember, hopefully it helped someone. I always have trouble paying attention to the details and paying attention to what the fish want, but I am trying to get better at that this year. Maybe I need to go into the day thinking I will report on how I was able to catch these fish and not just what I caught, then maybe it will help me pay more attention to what i'm doing rather than just reacting to things without really thinking about it. I love helping people catch fish, just not sure if I want to make every little detail public for the world to see. I have no problems responding to questions to help someone out though.

    Zoo Pics

Yesterday my wife and I made a trip over to the Toronto Zoo. Never been before, it was nice to see the animals so close. Here are a couple pics that I thought turned out pretty neat. I like how you can see the motion... If you like animal and flower pictures check out the rest on my flickr site: Zoo Pictures
  9. Great work! Nothing like catching fish with the family.
  10. Haha! Ya, thats me! I was going to post a link but I wanted to wait until after the voting because I know lots of people here are voting for Joey, so keep voting for her guys! That video was sure fun to make. For the record, this aluminum is not technically my boat, it's my brother-in-laws and I borrow it (won't be able to borrow it forever). Would love to have my own! Thanks for the encouragement! Evan
  11. Thanks guys! It was a blast. I'll try to answer some questions that haven't been answered yet. Some of them fought like crazy and kept wanting to bury themselves in weeds or stumps. Some not so good, they just sort of let me pull them to the boat. The best fighter ended up having about 6 pounds of weeds on his snout...kind of disapointed when I got him in. Yep, pretty much all on the western side. Didn't have a need to go try out the other arm of the lake. Looking forward to those pics! I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. And yes almost every fish we caught had then now when I look back at the pics. I do have a rubber net, so I doubt I caused that. It is a catch and release lake for bass, so maybe it is due to the fact each of these fish has probably been caught a bunch of times. Or maybe its something else in their environment. Took my own. 14 foot tinny with a bowmount , its perfect for these conservation areas. I don't even what to know what that would be like!!! I love seeing her catching nice fish...just I want a big one every once in a while!
  12. Yesterday afternoon my wife and I took the short drive up to Island Lake Conservation Area to give it a try. I had fished there before and got a couple nice bass so I was looking forward to it. Well we did WAY better. They were biting on everything as well. Spinnerbaits, jigs, soft plastics. They were everywhere. Overall we got 27 fish, 16 of which were decent bass. We started the day off with a double header! Our first time getting a double header so it was pretty exciting. We caught lots of fish around this size: At some point in the day we were talking about how it was cool we were able to get a double header when wham, fish on. I yell for net and my wife yells, "oh crap! I got one on too!!!". So I had to scramble back to the back of the boat without falling in, net my fish, then net her fish. Somehow I managed to do this without flipping the boat or falling in myself, and neither fish were lost. But I noticed after the fact that somehow amongst the chaos I blew the button off my shorts...maybe I need to consider loosing a bit off the waste line. My wife's fish was a really nice one. I don't know what it is but she always gets bigger fish than me. No matter where we go she does it. Anyway, it was a great time, I love getting out fishing with her. Even though she tends to show me up!
  13. Very nice! Looks like it was a peaceful evening.

    HDR Daisy

Ya I know. I tried about 10 times before getting a series where it didn't move too much. It still wasn't perfect but it was still enough to do the job.
  15. I'm playing around with ufraw and Raw Therapee, so far Raw Therapee has my vote (I like top try the free programs first). I think the delay has to do with the fact my camera uses SD cards which are pretty slow, and the fact my camera wasn't supposed to have the ability to capture the raw files but someone made an upgraded firmware that opened up alot of possibilities.

    HDR Daisy

A patch of daisies popped up in my backyard so I took a couple of quick shots of them. I think the HDR one turned out pretty cool so I thought i'd share.
  17. Thanks guys...that ones my fav as well. I found my camera always gave landscape shots (or any shots for that matter) a dull grey overtone to them and with a jpg file its hard to fix without loosing quality. I managed to find a way to unlock RAW capabilities on my camera so now I can take those shots and correct the color after without loosing quality. I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do. Question for you guys with the SLRs...when you shoot a RAW photo how long does it take to save to the memory card. My point and shoot camera takes about 5 seconds which gets a bit annoying, so i'm just curious if the higher end cameras do something to make raw shooting a bit more useful.
  18. Spent some of the Canada Day weekend up north near the Sault and spent canada day itself in niagara peninsula. Here are some of the nice scenes we got to enjoy.

    Grand Canyon

Agreed, very nice. And looks like you had a nice trip.
  21. I think next week some night i'm going to take my wife over to Guelph lake. I have fished from shore before and caught a couple small bass and small pike. This time we'll be from my boat though. My main goal is to cruise the lake pretty quick to get an idea what's out there. I may grab a map at the front desk to help my search out. My main target will be pike as I hear there are supposed to be decent ones in there. I was also wondering what the crappie population is like there, I wouldn't mind letting her catch a couple of them. She really wants to get a pike though. She has to out-do all the 5 pound smallies she catches in the summer. If anyone has any general tips, much appreciated. Don't need details since i'm planning on cruising most of the lake, just would be nice to have some ideas to start off with. Thanks! Evan
  22. I unfortunately probably won't get out for bass opening weekend, i'll be at a family reunion up near the Sault, i'd better fish for something at least! Good luck out at Long Point, it'll be a zoo out there.
