  1. I think any of those cameras you would love. The only thing I would like to point out is that out of the 3 the D60 doesn't have automatic exposure bracketing, which is something that is very handy if you are doing HDR work. You want the bracketing feature because otherwise you would have to adjust the exposure for all your shots, making it really easy to move the camera. I know Deano here has a A300, so he can give his input on it if he reads this, you may want to shoot him a pm. Out of the three I would probably lean towards the Xsi simply for the reason it has auto bracketing, and there are a ton of lenses and accessories readily available. Although i'm sure Sony is getting there as well...
  2. Here's a picture I took of a sundog during a sunset last week. I was amazed at how bright this sundog was.
  3. Great shots. Really shows the power of nature.
  4. Great shots man. I like the peek-a-boo one, good title for that one! That last sunset one is great, having those people in it really adds to it.
  5. Thanks guys! I am definitely enjoying it and don't regret spending the money one bit. I can't wait for some warmer weather though so I can get out and do some exploring.
  6. Went to Niagara Falls this weekend for a weekend away. Wasn't too cold out so we went for a couple walks and got some pictures.
  7. Good shots Brandon. Whats the temperature out west these days?

    Blue Sunset

Here in Waterloo the sunset isn't as fiery red as in BC...it seems our only sunny days have no clouds lately. Here are a couple from the other night...
  9. Awesome shot Brandon! I shoot RAW only now as well. It has enhanced so many of my photos, and downright saved other ones as well. I am also finding that whatever software you use you can eventually set up a collection of processing settings that you could quickly apply to a bunch of photos so you don't have to tediously tweak each one. Because of this I found I was just throwing the jpeg out, so i decided to save the space and buffer time and just shoot raw.

    Sunday Hike

All great as usual. I really like the one with the frost.
  11. I have also been toying with the idea of upgrading lately, but hadn't really decided on what I wanted. I ended up getting a used Nikon D80 which was in great shape, and didn't break the bank. I haven't been able to get out much, or haven't wanted to since its toooo cold lately. Here are a couple of shots snapped from the warmth of the car, or with the car really close by. Nothing really great, i've had it a week and have almost mastered the settings (yeah right) This is my favorite shot of the day, which was actually taken by my wife with the old camera! I really like it for some reason...
  12. Wow, those clouds are amazing! Really looking forward to seeing what else you get!
  13. Ya I know thats there, but thanks for pointing it out. Its annoying though because this is a point and shoot camera. I have a feeling the only way to get that sensor clean is to send it to canon...
  14. Took advantage of the break in the clouds this afternoon and went for a drive. This year I hope to do lots of exploring, looking forward to it! This spot looked cool with a thin layer of fog rolling in:
  15. Good call on the black and white, and even better on the selective colouring of the rope. That first picture is really nice.
  16. I keep all my photos on http://www.flickr.com/photos/evankirkland/ . Lots more on there then I have posted here.

    Big otter

Whoa, where abouts was this taken? I'm off to Tburg tomorrow to my parents for the week. The river runs behind their place, i'll have to be sure to check it out!
  18. Congrats Dan! That will be fun to play with! I'm going through the same debate right now as there are some good deals out there. Looking forward to seeing more from this camera!
  19. Great shots Brandon, must be fun watching a hockey game through a camera!
  20. Good shots. I like the one with the snail, very simple.
  21. Same as FishNAutographs I wanted to get out for a drive to enjoy the gorgeous day we had yesterday in between the snow storms. Got some nice shots of some trees right before sunset.
