pigeonfisher replied to fishhunter's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like fun. Put your tent on a hill! -
Someones was using part of my name... DANG, BEER, CHICKEN WINGS, ELITISM
-
Try Gordon Highlander, it is an exceptional blend. Also the White & McKay 13 was on sale a couple of weeks ago in LCBO's for 21.00 (reduced from 41.00). It is a nice blend as well. I truly enjoy the Bruichladich myself, the last bottle I bought was over 100.00 and that was 7 years ago. A great gentleman from the board once brought me a bottle back from Scotland...nice fella.

So far...So Good!

I failed to mention that three cases combined... Straub Natty Bo Yuengling Premium Lite 24 cans x 3 cases = 72 beers 3 cases (11.45+10.95+15.00) = 37.40 You could subtract 1.50 if you buy them "warm" as they do charge here for cold beer.

If any of you ever get up this way (Southern PA or Maryland) you should check out our local favorite. National BohemianNatty Bo!. It is presented as being from the land of pleasant living. I agree! Another cool PA beer factoid is the eternal tap in St. Mary's, PA. Learn about the Eternal Tap PA's most famous beer is now being distributed across the Eastern Seaboard to compete with Sam Adams, Yuengling Lager. Here we just order "A lager" from the waitress or bartender and our beer will be delivered cold, no questions asked. My beer of choice these days is Yuengling Premium Light. Americas Oldest Brewery. If you haven't had "a Lager" you should keep American beer slams to a minimum.

Great to hear!!!

The photo attached to the article is earily reminiscent of a scene during my brother in laws stag party in the French River. We were only recovering from hangovers though. I can't imagine what these young men must be feeling. Canoe Dot CA Story

Great deal man. I have seen the majority of the country; however, it was all done alone making sales calls. Fly into somewhere, drive like crazy and get on the next plane from whatever town. I second the Alaska Hwy. My one suggestion for this portion is bring a jerry can of gas, or two. I look forward to sharing portions of that trip or maybe the whole thing when my boys become friends, when I am 60 and they are 30. Enjoy your time, take a pile of photos and share them with us.

This should possibly be posted as a general rule somewhere. Even when making a decision on a fishing lodge...hahahaha It may not be applicable here though.

Okay...I stand by the above position; however, I have been presented with a case of sircumstances that make this situation very different than what was initially presented. Rich has been dealt a deck of cards that not many of us could deal with. He has proven to be a stand up man during a time that many wouldn't.

Brian, Big night for GSP...I have faith but it isn't blind! Still working out strong. Been doing a lot of running and have been hanging out just around 200lbs for a few weeks. So I am down 55-60lbs depending on the day. How about you? -
I think am taking this one in solo. All the family is back home and the neighbours seem tied up. I can't wait!!!
-
Good deal man...looks like a great time was had by all!!!

Drink Guinness or Labatt 50. No need for a cooler.

Well, some of the reports are flying in and from a distance it is bringing back a lot of memories. Sounds like everyone had a blast. Congrats, Great to see you guys are carrying on the traditions. Next thing you know someone will make a post looking for a swill at the firehall at Bronte. F.F.#2...Keep the streak alive? Get some folks out the firehall for some wings and beers...and call Colin to head the table. DANG, Beer, Wings, Elitism.

I have a troybuilt and mow my acre lot around all the trees and up and down my little hills. I got it from a friend for $600. That is the right price for me. I love my little red tractor. If you are buying a $3000 tractor for your own lawn I would consider how many mows it would take with a lawn service to pay that off. Figure on $50 per mow and trim...sounds like a few years worth of mowing.

I stayed in that same cabin (I am damn sure) about 7 years ago... We really enjoyed our time up there.

I am one of the people that has been forced to hand out the lay off notices and explain to employees why we are all taking salary roll backs. Not fun. The comment saying that you don't want to go backwards is both stubborn and foolish. In this industrial and economic climate we are all fortunate if we are only going backwards. I have taken a 10% cut this year along with all my employees, it hurts but is much better than the alternative. I also have no pension My crew over here are all thankful to be employed and ask daily what else they can personally do to help us get through this. The 300 families that I am still responsible for are taking small cuts so that they can contribute to the success of their neighbour, more lay offs are a much less forgiving option. I would suggest others work towards the same attitude that these folks have.

And a Chinese investment firm just bought Hummer!
