  1. Admittedly, I hit BPS more than the others just because I end up there a few times a year with my wife because she loves shopping that mall it is attached to. For local tackle though they guys at Bridgenorth Sports are Marine are the best around. I've never made it all the way up to Bobcaygeon to KLO, but BSM carries most everything I fish with and they are friendly fellas. I find their prices to be a hair high, but in the end, if I need something its cheaper than going all the way to Vaughan from Ptbo. Honestly, most of my hardbaits come from antique lure collectors who sell the fishables cheap that they get out of their field finds. That's the cheapest way to go for me
  2. Fishing swivels (hope that is what they are called in Canada, I attached a pic just in case) <img src="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Angeln_zubehoer_wirbel_01.jpg"> Do you use them? I never have, but can definitely see the advantage of being able to quick change your baits. I was told by someone when I started fishing they mess up your baits movements and shouldn't be used on Rapalas, crakbaits, ect. Is this true or myth? If it is true, what application are they good for?
  3. I fish Selwyn Conservation area between Bridgenorth/ Buckhorn. They don't collect fees during the week so the gates are closed but the conservation area is still open. Its a little walk, but good fishing off a couple of points and a beach on Chemong Lake.
  4. $15 will get you to Peterborough, three blocks from little lake and the Otonobee River...
  5. Hosts 1. Hank Parker 2. Roland Martin 3. Bill Dance (yeah, Im serious) Location Lake Okechobee in Fl or Clear Lake in Cali Target Bass - Large or Smallmouthed
  6. Thanks for the responses... Any chance you have a picture of this? He must have his PMs turned off.
  7. Anyone ever crafted something that was easy to use to put some wheels on the back of your aluminum boat for portaging? Nothing too long, just figured if there was an easy wheel setup it would make things easier. Thought about creating something that would bracket onto the boat I could affix a couple of bike wheels too... but I'm not engineering genius Thanks in advance
  8. Wow - that's really strange. Never heard of that one before. One's a fluke, if its two, that seems like something else going on. The chances of how you handled them are very slim. Some other variable there. Did you catch any that lived?
  9. The Rebel Craw in a variety of colors..... I hadn't fished these in a few years, just a forgotten bait. Picked one up in a tackle box from ebay and it was awesome. Been two seasons now and I just can't keep the bass off of them. Great bait, nest robber is the best color for me in the Kawartha's but my buddy uses a deep diver in a different color and catches lots of fish up around Buckhorn. It's proven to work all over, I used to use them all the time in the Greenbrier and New Rivers in West Virginia - they are a real go to bait for me.
  10. Who uses a hook sharpener? Just a whetstone one or an electric one? I was thinking of the one from Rapala that is electric, just wondering if anyone had any experience with them, I've never owned one. Just can't lose another fish from a dull hook (because it couldn't be me missing the hookset, lol)
  11. What motor is in the F150. The 4.6 (which I own) is not as good on mileage or power as the 5.4. I bought used and the price was right so I didn't have much choice, but the 5.4 has a lot of guts and the mileage is slightly better as well. Amen Brother.

  13. Sweet, my parents had a GTP - it was awesome. My first car was a 78 Ford Mustang II. Nice car, too bad it caught on fire while I was driving it. Is that the GLH edition of the Dodge Omni?
  14. I used to pull a 15 or 17' bass boat with my 2wd ranger all the time. It had a 4.0 v6 in it, no problem. Towed it with the ball in the bumper, brought it all the way from Georgia to WV and that is one mountainous drive. Had absolutely zero problems. Like the others, i would not buy a Dakota but would buy a RAM over a Silverado. I would not buy a foreign truck at all. I bleed Ford blue myself and swear by the F150. Right now there are a lot of good deals on 2004+ in those. I drive a 2WD too and have zero issue (even in winter). If I were you I'd get a used F150...
  15. Set your air? Sorry, not sure what that means. I don't think I can adjust that on this motor though...
  16. My tank is on the motor. So... I don't think I have access to any of that...
  17. I need a carb kit for my 1963 Johnson outboard as well as a service manual. I can order them, but am hopeful that someone knows where I can pick them up in the Kawarthas. I used to work at a shop that sold it all... but that was back in WV. Thanks
  18. Is it a really hard thing to do? It seems like a pretty simple motor but if it's too hard, I'll consider taking it in.
  19. So had the 3HP out for the first time tonight, had it running in a trashcan and it seemed ok, but not sure if I actually pushed the choke in or if it was out the whole time. (first time I've owned an outboard, lame I know) Put it on the boat tonight, hoping to do a test run a little fishing in the local river. The motor starts fine with the magneto on start, then with the choke out I can swing it to fast and it runs fine, choke still out. When I push the choke in, it sounds like it is going to turn into a champ and take off and then if fizzles, sort of coughs and dies. I would think, and I'm not mechanic or even really knowledgable, but either it is a carb problem or could the mix be wrong? Or could it be something else?
  20. Yeah, they were everywhere. I found one at Chapters. Really great because the kawarthas, barrie and algonquin are all in the same book.
  21. What are the northam ones? Where can they be purchased?
  22. I've not fished the Otonobee from a boat before, but have done lots of wading and fishing in it. I don't know the spots that far down except for Squirrel Creek, where the launch is and I've always done well there on crawfish baits. They kill them.
  23. I'm no bait casting master, mostly spinning unless I'm throwing something heavy, but I have a mid level Shimano and it is great. It is the Cardiff now, although mine is called something different pretty sure it is the same reel. One of my friends uses and completely abuses a Shimano Curado and he loves it and it never misses a beat.
