I would recommend a Minn-Kota 55 lb thrust for a 14' boat. As for the shaft length...you want it to be a good foot to foot and a half into the water, so it doesnt pop out if the water is rough and your boat is going up and down. I have the Minn-Kota Maxximum 65 lb for my 16' boat, which has tons of moving power. Def stick with Minn-Kota though.

Stay away from PowerPro! Just lost $20 worth of lures because the line broke on the cast(s)!

So, I used the BRAND NEW PowerPro I bought last week, yesterday......NOT very impressed with it. For whatever reason, twice when I took a cast (hard cast because I was throwing into the wind), the line snapped and my lure when SPLASH. The line didnt break at the knot, it broke at a random spot in the middle of the cast. I wasnt too happy to lose my only remaining black spinnerbait!!! I have another new pack of PowerPro (unopened), that is going right back to Canadian Tire for a refund. I knew I should have stuck with the Vanish Flourocarbon! Any ideas as to why it would snap there? I am guessing a "bad batch". Since I have only used the line once, is there anything I can do with reguards to a refund? (no package or reciept though). Maybe contact PowerPro directly?

Hmmm..tough call. There is obviously more to the story, so I am not sure which way to lean. I cant say I blame the guy for being a little peeved at them. But I will tell you...If they were harassing my wife, dumping stuff on my land/into my pond and trespassing on my land....they would he happy with just a little "birdshot" in the butt!

Ya, the weather was nasty to say the least! Weird though, because the fish we caught were super aggressive. They were chasing BIG crankbaits that were being reeled in FAST. The one I caught was on a followup. My buddy missed the fish on a spinnerbait, and I threw a jig/grub right behind it, and he slammed it. Lots of OOS bass too, and some BIG ones. I lost a largemouth at the boat that must have been 5-6lbs, it was massive. But for the conditions, the fish were abnormally aggressive, which I was surprised about.

My two buddies and I got out for some Pike/Walleye action near the Bay of Quinte yesterday, and the Pike co-operated, but the walleye and weather didnt! We were stuck fishing in one bay all morning because of the HIGH winds and 4 foot waves in the main lake!! It was insanely rough out there! There were no monsters caught, but some decent fish. My first Pike of the season.. My buddy Jay's first pike of the season.. A cool shot of Jay's Pike... All in all, a good morning. Heck any morning spend fishing is a good morning!

Ya, its horrible. I am from Cobourg, and was just at my parents today, and the whole town is hurting over this. What a shame. Apparently one of the girls' families also lost their son 11 years ago in a train accident. I couldn't imaging being a parent and losing 2 children.

I got up to the cottage last night to try my luck with some more Stoney Lake walleyes, and they co-operated pretty well, despite the cold front that moved in. All fish caught in 6-15 ft of water, snap jigging weedbeds. Heading out tomorrow to try my luck with Pike/Walleye near the BOQ. Hopefully they co-operate as well! Cheers, *Stoty (GO Team 9 GO)

I am just giving my opinion, which I am entitled to. I dont sugarcoat anything. I like Crosby..he is one of the best players in the game, no doubt about it. Very skilled. He just needs to stop his whining every time he gets hit. Its sickening to watch. Hitting is part of the game, especially in Canada. Why does he think he should get special treatment? Look at Ovechkin...highly skilled, and throws his weight around and NEVER yaps after getting hit. GO WINGS GO!!!!!
