  1. Ya, he removed all the oil from the lower unit. Is that what you mean?
  2. You can't tell if the motor has been looked after by removing the cover?
  3. Where is Top Gun Marine? I will be having a mechanic look at the boat (if I buy it), when I get it back home. I am trying to see if the guy selling it will hook up the hose to the motor or put it in a bucket, so I can hear it running. Can you tell a lot about a motor by the looks of the inside of it? Are there things I should be looking for?
  4. AMEN BROTHER!
  5. Thanks for the advice but my truck is a street truck (Chevy Xtreme), so I am limited as to what I can tow. The 20+ full sized boat are too much for my truck. My life long dream has been to own a ranger, and this size is great for my 1st ever boat actually. This isnt an upgrade from a 14ft tinny like someone said...this is literally MY first boat. Again, I appreciate all the comments/advice though. Sounds like I am getting a good deal, that's for sure.
  6. Seems to be a consensus! Thanks guys.
  7. Dang....why can't it be two blonde's in mud and/or jello fighting about me?!?!?!?!?
  8. Well, mine turned out to be a "lower intake gasket". $490 + tax. I guess that's better than the $1200 + for a head gasket!
  9. OH GEESH....HAHAHAHA I don't care who you are....that's funny.
  10. Hey everyone, I'm looking at buying a 2006 Ranger 175vs in mint condition this weekend. Comes with: 2006 Yamaha 4-stroke - 115 HP Lowrance GPS 65lb minn kota all batteries matching RangerTrail trailer Any idea on what it's worth? I want to make sure that I'm not overpaying for it. Cheers, *Stoty
  11. I hope there is, because I literally just took my Xtreme in last night to be looked at today about a very similar problem. My heater isnt working as well as it did last week....so I am HOPING it's not the head gasket! Still waiting for the call....
  12. Is there such thing as an "honest mechanic" ??
  13. Apparently they dont take the "Canadian" part in their name seriously. We are in Canada, and more specifically Ontario. Canadians ice fish. No matter if they live by the Bay of Quinte or downtown TO. If the product manager reads this...ALL stores should have stock! LOL
  14. That last one KILLS me! hahahahahah
  15. Ya, and what's your point Irish? CT is managed poorly. When you advertise things for sale...ALL stores should have it IN STOCK. It's pathetic that some stores dont get the "on sale" item at all!! It's common sense.
  16. HAHAHA
  17. EXACTLY the problem I had last year with the hand auger....... Hell...I went there the friday night (sale started sat morning), and they didnt have any in stock!! Pathetic for such a huge company.
  18. If you have some extra time...head to the inland freshwater lakes. HUGE bass in there! (just look at my avatar)
  19. I think I will look at the states for one. Apparently there are TONS of Repo's taking place, so there are lots available. Not to mention their economy is hurting a lot more than ours, so they are willing to cut a deal.
  20. haha, sweet, thanks very much. appreciate the info.
  21. Nice report! Quick question....how long does a tank of propane last in that heater? I was thinking about getting one.
  22. HA HA HA Greg Knox for president after that speech!! It's about time someone in a position like that, told the TRUTH about the "auto industry". Two thumbs up for him.
  23. Ya, too bad the prices weren't recession like! I was really disappointed with the lack of "specials" and Bass Boat dealers. Can't say I'd waste my time/money again.
  24. My dad and I will be there today instead of tomorrow. If you see a young guy with the biggest smile ever....that's me who just spend 1/2 of next years salary on a Bass Boat. HA!
  25. Crap! Too late. If anyone backs out...let me know, I might be interested.
