The Ranger came with a Sonar/GPS unit, so I dont need a new fishfinder now. I just need a map chip to put in it!

Well, I (along with 21 other people) just lost their jobs this morning. Our company filed for bankruptcy, and was sold, and the new owners were told to cut costs. I used a guide a few years back, (results in my avatar). I'd highly recommend it. You're almost guarenteed a great day. You wife should be able to handle it, because its shiner fishing for the most part, unless your request using artificials. I paid $250 for 4 hrs...

Get this....some little jerk(s) in Oshawa stole my Breast Cancer Ribbon that was on the back of my truck. It meant a lot to me as my mother is losing the fight to Breast Cancer right now. I just dont get what goes through peoples head's sometimes. Does anyone know where I can get another one? Thanks for any help. *Stoty

I'm sorry to hear that Lew. My thoughts are with you. My mom is also not well (cancer), so its only a matter of time now. It's nice to see the support from the community. Believe it or not, it sure makes a difference to know people are there to support you even if its over the internet.

Ya, I've done the whole live shiner thing, but this time, my buddy and I are going with only artificials. P.S - Let's just say that my (soon to be) ex-wife, has A LOT more to lose than I do! So...if she wants to play hardball...so be it! I will end up with a 21ft Ranger, brand new SUV and my own house!

Now that I have your attention...lol. Just wondered if anyone has had success fishing Okeechobee? My buddy just offered me a 12 day trip, staying at his grandparents place, to fish Okeechobee from March 18-29. We will be launching out of Clewiston, and running in his 21ft Ranger with 225. So anywhere on the Lake is fish-able. Obviously the lake is pretty weed-choked, but just wondering if anyone has found a certain technique(s) seem to outproduce others? Cheers, *Stoty

Well...since "Triton guys" are far inferior with their fishing skills to "Ranger guys", we like giving you a head start!

It's true! I've been doing my homework!

A jack plate allows the prop to run in cleaner water as to accommodate a higher engine height which leads to faster top end speeds and shallow water running. Less of the lower unit is in the water resulting in reduced drag. The prop is further away from the transom to avoid the boats turbulence as it travels through the water. Basically...makes you go smoother/faster.
