  1. I love cathing those little brookies. Some amazing colors on those guys...
  2. I like to use 4 ft of flourocarbon as a leader for walleye when I use a no stretch line. but sometimes I spool with pure flouro too. 8 lb works good and I use it for both jigging, trolling and drifting.
  3. If it comes up in the top ten google results, well then who can argue with that it must be true...
  4. Canoe Trippers? People who are making a trip from point A to point B via canoe.
  5. That is not exactly true. I belive you are not to use any of the fallen wood within the car camp grounds for obvious reasons. But, in the backcountry the rangers routinely cut wood around the campsites for trippers.
  6. I think cages have been rattled, feathers been ruffled. That makes 9 for me I think...
  7. all of the lakes in algonquin along the highway 60 corridor contain small amounts of bass. Dont expect the other species of fish to come easy. Bass are your best bet. cheap and easy, is a jig tipped with a soft plastic of some kind, like a grub or minnow. work your choice of lure around the rocky shorelines and weed beds. When I was a kid my parents took me to lake of two rivers and I used to take the canoe into the narrow weedy creeks and catch some pretty decent numbers of bass. Numbers, nothing trophy size. Work the structure of the water with your lure, such as rocks, stumps and weed beds. My guess is you will get a few bass, although there is lake trout and brookies in canoe as well, I think. I have also caught perch and grass carp there. This site may help you as well. Check out the fishing section and read the canoe trip reports that best match your own. http://www.Algonquinadventures.com Good luck.
  8. Head, I feel your pain... I have had so many problems with bell it is unreal. It took us 3 weeks to get a phone line hooked up and 4 seperate "please wait at your house from 9 am to 9 pm" and guess what no show. Then you call customer service and they tell you someone was there but you werent home. Bull. Thanks for wasting my day. honestly this happened 4 times in three weeks. And thats the the tip of the iceberg of my dealings with bell. But probably the most frustrating. Anyway bro just grit your teeth and try and deal with it... remember you are dealing with a machine and nothing else. you are not alone in your frustration.
  9. All of my friends who got married and had kids dont have time to go fishing any more. Makes me bitter just thinking about it.
  10. I wouldnt worry about it. If a MNR officer has you in his sights, chances are he will be watching you long before you see him. I have had those guys literally jump out of the bushes before. I mean really, one second you are fishing on the side of the lake with your buddies, then you turn around and there is a fully armoured MNR officer standing there. I always bring several rods with me when I fish. For backup and to have multiple presentations to throw. Never had a problem with the MNR.
  11. The crown land use atlas should be of some use to you. Hope it helps. http://crownlanduseatlas.mnr.gov.on.ca/index.html
  12. nice fish. I love catching hammerhandles because where there is one, there is usually more. lol "snot rockets" thats a new one to me.
  13. I started fishing for steelhead 4 years ago, and i was skunked every fall for the first three. i go out probably a dozen times every fall. Large rivers are still a mystery to me. People who fish for steelhead are usually die hards who dont give up no matter how many times they get skunked.
