  1. You should have gotten out and picked it up, they make great bait for catfish doncha know Joey
  2. I've fished Nippissing a few times this year. The only tip I can give you is large lures = large fish, especially the pickerel. The pike will hit anything, even lures bigger than themselves. Seriously, pike never die, they just swim around with pieces missing and hit anything near them Joey
  3. Well we'll start the fire and then you all show up, I doubt Jennifer would mind. She likes Paul so we'll have him smooth it over Joey
  4. Don't know why this first one turned out so dark, but it kinda looks neat.
  5. Great report. Love that picure of your dog - that's great!! Joey
  6. Now that's funny How did you do that Terry?
  7. Ya, nice little musky bait there Joey
  8. Awesome report Garry. You did a great job out there with this hot weather and "mile high sky" as you called it. Beauty bass there. Joey
  9. Awesome report hon. Looks like the home away from home is getting alot comfier!! Those midnight cruises are great, and they usually produce when the full moon is out. Did ya hear any wolves baying? Joey
  10. Happy Birthday, hope you have a super day. Joey
  11. A random act of kindness, I love it Joey
  12. I've seen people do it with slide in campers on their trucks. Always thought it was a great idea. Only thing I've done sort of similar was start fishing for pickerel at midnight when they opened and kept fishing till I was exhausted and then had a nap right there under the bridge by the river while Paul kept fishing (this was pre boat). Woke up with a face full of dirt Don't recommend that. Joey
  13. That's interesting stuff B. I had no idea about baiting or scouting areas. Guess I'm not much into the hunting thing. I'll be interested to see how you do this season. Keep us posted. Joey
  14. Wow Great report and pics. Joey
  15. Thanks everyone. I've been thinking over how much fun it was and will be making plans to get out with him again soon. I have to take him for one of his Dr.'s appt's on Thursday so I'll see if he wants to go again. I'll let him rest up a bit first though Joey
  16. Nice to hear from you again Kyle. Hope you are enjoying Alberta. Even tho their lakes are "ponds," I found the river fishing to be fantastic. Have you tried the Bow River up near Canmore yet? Besides the fantastic view, the rainbows are just gorgeous, and tasty. I learned how to fly fish on that river and it was an experience I won't soon forget. Joey
  17. That's brutal, I feel your pain. Joey
  18. Dad has stage 4 lung cancer right now, which has spread to his liver and kidney. My sister and I took him out for his birthday for lunch a few weeks ago and he said to me he really wanted to go fishing. He's pretty weak right now, and very thin compared to what he used to be, but we sat a date for this weekend and he was as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve I was half expecting him to cancel, but he didn't and was a real trooper for the day. He loves to fish for bass so since he lives in Aurora and we were not sure how long he'd make it, we just headed to Keswick to try for some smallies near Crates Marine. Here we are heading down the river to the lake. Here is his "tackle box" A scotch tin He didn't have much for tackle so I rigged him up with a spinner bait and he did his best trying to stand and cast. That didn't last long and he decided he wanted to just use his Mepps with a worm and bobber. I think his Mepps was 50 years old. He got the first fish Not big, but a fish nevertheless. Not much action in the area so we headed up to Snake Island. There was so much boat traffic it was insane. The waves that were produced by all the traffic was pretty bad and he had a hard time standing. He ended up having a little lie down for about a half and hour so we decided to take him down to the very south end of Cook's Bay where there is not much traffic. He got another little perch and I got a pike. He still beat us both in the fish dep't as he got two fish But mostly, he was just happy to be out with us. He really didn't want to leave even tho it was now 4:30 and we had been out since about 9 a.m. I couldn't believe he had made it that long, but was looking pretty tired. So we packed it up and headed back to his place. He said he was going for a nap All day he just kept saying how happy he was. We shared some sandwiches, fruit, stories and jokes. It was a really good day. I will definately be taking him again soon. He wants to try for some Salmon now Thanks for letting me share this special day with you, and if you can, take your dad fishing!!! Joey p.s. Thanks for the fishing tips Cudz!! Much appreciated.
  19. Great report and nice smallie, woohoo. Joey
  20. Thanks everyone. I'm really enjoying the new camera. I'm going to get a better tripod tho, but until then, thanks for the tip Twocoda, that will probably help.
  21. Awwwww, aren't they cute Nice smallie for Carole. Looks like it was a nice day out there. Joey
  22. Nice report and pics Steve. I'll be doing exactly the same thing today, taking my dad out for some smallies. Hope I can put him on some. Joey
  23. The first one with the leaves took about 10 shots, the focus on just the moon was about 5 shots. My tripod is giving me grief so I have to just try to hold the camera steady. Good thing I don't drink anymore
  24. This guy had a nice hornet all wrapped up, then took it for a ride up under the eaves to eat. Prepareing for transport here. Now, the big move.
