  1. My brother doctored his sunfish lure. Before: After: No coffee, just a 3:30am wake-up call when you're 7 and going fishin'.. First bass of the season and someone's photography skills are not up to snuff. Brother bass Not sure if this one was looking for love? Or a meal? For a moment he thought he had the bass of the year. All 3 of us had hits on the sunfish but my brother was the only one to get a bass in the boat. Still not peak slop frog season anyway but had to try 'em. We fished only topwaters and did well for numbers but getting the "big ones" in the boat didn't work-out. The jr. angler was having a tough time getting his hooked fish into the boat but finished the day with the biggest bass landed.
  2. Working on it. Winding down after a 3:31am wake-up.
  3. So that's where all the big bass were. I was in the wrong boat.
  4. Is Bassmas Eve a thing?

  5. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/annual-fish-fly-hatch-on-lake-st-clair-picked-up-on-radar-1.3649661 'Tis the season for the annual fish fly hatch on Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie. Every year, thousands of the winged aquatic insects emerge from local bodies of water, only to hover around lights, cling to windows and walls, mate and then die — all within about 48 hours. This year, the hatch is so abundant, it's being captured every evening on radar in Detroit. The National Weather Service tweeted a picture of the hatch June 18. The image shows dark blue patches, representing thousands of fish flies, over Lake St. Clair and the western edge of Lake Erie.
  6. And wet the braid before tightening the knot.
  7. For years I used a 2500 size Stratic for steelhead and salmon. The reel never let me down.
  8. Had the same thing happen. Quite the fight on walleye gear. They also like smallies.
  9. Zara spooks seem to be the most interesting to seagulls.
  10. Yep. Just like every other topwater. One eye on the lure, the other on the sky.
  11. I've got stradics going back to the early 90's. Love them all and have a c14 that is nice and light but straight up I'd take the extra money saved and put it toward other tackle.
  12. Sorry can't talk. Too busy creating cormorant recipes.
  13. Bill to change status of cormorants passes second reading. https://www.ofah.org/issues/cormorants/ You can contact your MPP. Should find him/her here: http://www.ontla.on.ca/web/members/members_current.do?locale=en
  14. So what about last year's Finals? Why only play 6 games? The refs make awful calls but the conspiracy theories are for crazy wives.
  15. C'mon?! 18 hours and not one Atlantic comment?
  16. Scalpers are going to charge you fifty bucks to watch it in your own living room. This isn't like picking a happy meal. The group would have to sign-off, the tour promoter and maybe a half dozen other entities that would all want their piece. Maybe another network wanted to do it? To be safe they'd also want to wait until most/all the tickets were sold.
  17. Ya, and about those "too big" 6 inch lures I use.
  18. I'm sure I speak for many of us here. Having a chef, or 2, on a fly-in trip would be about as close to perfection as a person could hope for.
  19. No baitballs for the 3 anglers who'll be using these hollow bodies. I asked my brother today about the tandem frog bait from many years ago. He said it never worked very well. The frogs were small and they never sat well in the water.
  20. Any of them explain why when you are on a boat on a big "flat" lake you see the tops of the trees before the land?
  21. Every dying one right before another fish eats it which is why you don't see it often.
  22. We all have that one family member... http://www.cfra.com/news/2016/06/14/heated-dispute-over-earths-shape-leads-to-fire-in-brockville Heated dispute over Earth's shape leads to fire in BrockvilleBrockville Police say a heated discussion about the shape of the Earth led to the fire department being called in. Police say they were called to St. Lawrence Park around 10:30 Monday, after a family had been involved in a full fledged argument. Apparently a woman was insisting the earth was flat and her boyfriend's father was arguing it is round. Police say the 56-year-old man became so angry he started to throw things into their camp fire, including a propane cylinder. Brockville Fire was called in to put out the blaze and at some point the man left the scene. Police say they are now looking for him in order to charge him with mischief. Investigators say "neither party would change their views." ...In all fairness fire was around long before our understanding of a spherical earth.
