2 weeks ago I filled up in Toronto for 81¢ then drove 75 miles to Peterboro and the price had jumped to 89 ¢
Makes you wonder how they figure the pricing , doesn't it ??

Lew, there must have been something in the air .... I didn't spend anything at BPS either....I did all my shopping at the entrance
There's some great deals to be had at the front door Jim

Stan, your not hijacking my thread at all, infact i think it's great when we can help each other save a few $$$$
This was actually my 1st Internet purchase from anywhere so I really can't offer you much.
My purchase came by UPS ground transportation about 4 days earlier than promised, and what was nice too, was when I ordered it, Cabellas gave me the total price to my home, so there were no hidden surprises.
I was always abit concerned about ordering big $$$$ items thru the net, but I'll never hesitate to do it again.....at least not with Cabelas.
-
Unbelievable !!
Sorta looks like the DVP during a normal rush hour
...........even without the ice
-
How much did your item end up costing after all was said and done?
Stan
Total bill, all in.......$608 US with nothing extra from UPS.
Actually I coulda done real well if I wasn't so darned honest. I didn't even now the package had arrived until I went out to the front porch and there it was, just sitting there with nobody around.......so signature asked for or anything else.
It'd be quite easy for me to call Cabelas and ask where my GPS got to.
Only took 5 days too, from time of order till delivery....awesome service !!

Pete's here, just hasn't been around today, but he's a regulat poster as always.

My grandmother lived just north of the Pits Eric, and I spent ALOT of time around those hills back in the day.
Thanks for the memories !!

3 weeks ago I bought a Lowrance from Cabelas for $499 US
Today I was in Vaughn BPS and the exact same unit is $1017 cdn
Think I'll shop over the internet more often

Bonnechere Provincial Park.....Have a look at it and you may be impressed.
I've never been one for large campgrounds and this was the only Provincial park I ever stayed in, but it was excellent. It was in the fall though and practically empty, so I don't know how the summer months would be, but it's in a fairly isolated area and not close to any large urban areas.
Your only a few miles from the s/e corner of Algonquin.
The Bonnechere River is where our deer camp was many years ago, and it comes out of Algonquin Park and the campground is where the river empties into Round Lake in the Ottawa Valley.
The park has canoe rentals and you've got about 12 miles of river to explore before it get's to Algonquin. There's also a huge sandy beach.
It's been a few years since I was there so I don't know how the fishing is now, but have a look at it. I know if I was looking for another Provincial Park trip, this is where I'd be heading.
From your description of what your after, I think this is the place and it's about an hour or 2 above Silent Lake.

what is a ram mount
Proboat, a Ram mount is that upright piece in my picture that the GPS is sitting on.
It swivels at both ends and allows you to move your electronics into different positions.
-
Nope Lew - Don't do it.
Thanks Don, and I agree with you, I wasn't getting one myself but just saw it and thought someone may be interested.
And Dax, I picked up a Ram mount just the other day infact.
-
Anybody ever try these locks for your electronics ??
I know it'll only keep the honest thieves from grabbing your stuff, but it may deter them from trying if your boat is left unattended for awhile.
Saw them in the Cabelas catalouge for $17 each and thought somebody may be interested.
Pretty sad that we even have to think this way though, isn't it ??
-
That would work well on seadoos
Now THERE'S a thought !!
-
Excellent news Chuck and great to hear your on the mend !!
Accidents happen so darned fast, yet the recovery often takes so long, but at least your heading in the right direction and that's the main thing.
-
Just by coincidence, I was heading there tomorrow anyways....great timing
Thanks Mo

Hey Rob, if your in Toronto next week and need a shoulder, gimma a call bud.

I'll guess bronze.
Yup

I've never been sold on red hooks myself and If I get a bait with them, I replace them with Mustads.
Most of the larger red hooks I've seen always seemed to be very soft and of extremely poor quality, specially the ones on Suicks.
I use Mustads on all my musky baits, but it's just a personal preferrence and something that I know works well.
-
Pretty snazzy job you did there Nip.......VERY nice !!
-
Thanks a ton but it's a minnow compared to some of the tankers you've boated
Have a great year Andy!
I think Andy must keep those tanker locations a secret whenever I fish with him
