Hey Dax, I was just talking to Pete on the phone 15 minutes ago, so he's not too far away.
-
Glad to hear it's not just me Terry, but everything seems to be back to normal now.
-

That thing is nuts !!
Anybody remember when the old FLYER at the CNE was considered a wild ride ??
I can still hear those old wooden timbers creaking and groaning under the wheels everytime we went around a bend and I was just waiting for the whole thing to come down like a House of Cards.
Funny how we always jumped right back into line though

Makes me want to puke everytime I read something like this, just thinking about these punks wandering around and taking whatever the he!! they want, and knowing that when they get caught, almost nothing will come of it !!
Work all your life to afford the things you want, then they just help themselves to it.
There was a recent story about some Canadian punk who was caught stealing in the States 18 years ago and got caught and sentenced to 160 years in jail with no parole, and now he wants to come back here where he knows he'll probably be turned loose.....and probably go steal from somebody else again.
HUGE sentences for thieves may, or may not deter others from robbing innocent folks, but at least while their rotting in a cage, THEY won't be stealing other peoples hard earned belonings and terrorizing whole communities.
Canada is a nice place to live, but it's time we started to get tough on criminals.........VERY VERY tough !!

Excellent job boyz and congrats to the pair of you for the PB's !!
Unbelievable how many folks have picked up a PB from Quinte this fall/winter.
I just hope there's a few left for me on my annual trip next May
-
Great stuff Tom, I always enjoy reading about your fish'n trips.
Nice to hear you took the time to go back and retrieve your OFC touque too
-
CTC has alot of good sales and you can get some great stuff there.
Couple weeks back I picked up a set of pliers/cutters for $10....reg. $40
Their not the best tools on the market, but like Dan says, their great for around the house and you can't beat their warranty.

I only ever ate crappies once Glen, but they sure were tasty....now I'm envious !!

You used to be able to buy a line counter for the C-3's, but I don't know if their still available or not, and I can't find the info on it anymore. I tried searching thru Google, but nadda.
You removed the entire side of your reel, (opposite side from the handle), and then replaced it with the new piece that that included the line counter.
Seems to me LeBaron sold them for around $60

Your drag washers probably just need to be changed , then your reel should be good to go again. If your not able to do it yourself, any reel repair shop will do it for you.
Little tip .........always loosen the drag off whenever your not fishing, and this allows the washers to expand back to their original shape. They'll work much better, plus it extends their lifetime.
BTW, there's no such thing as a junk Curado

Alright Jamie, should I send the Suicks to Lew for disposal as well?
Yeah, send those crummy old Suicks on over here Dax and I'll look after the disposal for ya, I'm always ready & willing to help out a pal

I like my big game abu 7000 for jerks, built like a tank, keeps up.
I agree with GbayGiant on the Big Game 7000
I've used alot of different reels over the years for big jerkbaits, but haven't found another reel that works as well for taking up the slack line in a hurry, plus giving plenty of cranking power at the same time.
The gear ratio is only 5.3-1 but the large diameter spool and power handle make up for the difference and you can crank baits or slack line very fast with no effort.,
It's a fairly large reel but still comfortable to use all day with no problems.

Good stuff Jamie, I was waiting to hear how you made out.
You said you wanted that new PB, and then you went out and got it, and that's as good as it gets !!
Fishing open water in January, wearing only a sweater.......Priceless !!
-
And make sure your boat insurance is in place, as alot of policies don't cover you on the water thru the winter months and it could cost you some serious $$$$ if there's an incident.

I was a member of MCI for a year but left for personal reasons.
Now I'm a charter member of my very own Retired Firemens Musky Fish'n Club.
.....cept I'm the only member

That's good to hear Harry, and please keep us updated.
I think alot of times we put off important operations because of fear, and it is so often unfounded......I know I did.
-
It's a week I look forward to all winter and I'll be going at least twice again this year, June & September
-
Actually, Tightlines has been selling musky gear for a long time and I buy 1/2 my stuff there. He's got a decent selection, and his customer service is as good as it gets anywhere.
Great guys to deal with !!
-
Go get em Jamie !!
-
Yup, I was looking for it too Richard.

Have a great trip Roger and don't forget the camera.
