  1. I live right in the heart of the Kawarthas Jack, but last year I think I only fished these waters maybe 3 times. Still makes for an enjoyable day around here but there's just too many small fish and I'd much rather catch one big fish than a dozen little guys.
  2. I almost never fish the Kawarthas anymore so I probably won't be chasing any muskies till I'm on Nippissing the week of June 21st.
  3. That really is a beautiful photograph, amazing detail !!
  4. Mike and I fished together on the Larry a couple years back. Fun guy to fish with and you'll have a great time.
  5. Great report for sure and it sounds like an outstanding trip with your dad !!
  6. That's just plain nasty Brian.
  7. I'm heading to the West Arm of Nippissing in 18 days and I'm hoping this is the only Skeeter I see in the entire trip
  8. Some nice pics there Joey and hanging out with nature sure beats sitting around waiting for your truck.
  9. I took a coffee out on the back deck about 5:30 this morning and was absolutely swarmed by the skeeters. Now I've been working in the yard since 6:30 and haven't seen a single one in the last hour.
  10. Yup, it's almost that time Joey and we've already started getting our gear together, gonna be a great week. Looking forward to seeing you guys again.
  11. Very nice pike indeed. Pretty simple to make a basic camera holder for when your alone in the boat. Piece of wooden dowel that's fit your rear seat post hole with a 3 sided box fasted to the top to hold your camera. Set the auto timer, lift the fish & smile
  12. hahaha Good to see you boyz had a great day along with some very fine fish.
  13. Good to hear everyone found that article interesting.
  14. Here's an interesting story from a Peterboro news paper about old time lure makers, plus a notice about an upcoming antique lure show. Not sure if we're allowed to post links to newspaper articles or not, but I'll delete it if necessary. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCgQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thepeterboroughexaminer.com%2F2014%2F05%2F31%2Fthe-lures-of-peterboro-evinrude-centre-to-host-annual-spring-show-for-collectors-of-vintage-fishing-lures&ei=UBiLU4KdFI2Gqga-uIGgAw&usg=AFQjCNGLQUD3uP4OHL9xI50xsYZ32vXHHg
  15. Sounds like an offer of a lifetime !!
  16. Actually saw that video on this mornings news Gerritt, pretty darned comical LOL
  17. Maybe I could hook him up to the cart Steve and he can help me haul firewood for the rest of the day LOL
  18. Probably not many folks even lived after being 50' from a polar bear Bill, definitely something you'll never forget.
  19. Doesn't matter Mike, it's just that every time someone around here says Polar Bear, I remember the trip you & Bill took LOL
  20. I've been working out back for the last hour and surprisingly, there's very few skeeters around...yet. I was roto-tilling the garden yesterday and was nearly eaten alive so I'm expecting the onslaught to begin very soon LOL I use an OFF product that comes out as a dry powder and it works really well and doesn't leave everything covered it slime like so many of them.
  21. Without doubt, that was the best fishing tale I've ever read on this board
  22. Their also very light brown too Brian, much lighter than a Mourning Dove.
  23. I have to move 2 cords of wood today, take down an old portable garage, erect a new 12 X 20' portable garage, then move the 2 cords of wood back into their new home. I imagine I'll be one very LARGE mosquito bite by the time that's all done LOL
  24. This critter is VERY skittish and takes off as soon as I try to get close so I doubt he's a domesticated bird. He spends alot of time now with one of the Mourning Doves that's always here so I may soon have a picture of a cross between a Mourning/Eurasion Dove LOL
  25. As in escaped from a zoo or something similar ?? And for what it's worth, the dove was on the lawn again an hour ago.
