  1. We are so much alike M2B2 it s scary. If there is any light at the end of this dark tunnel for Simon and his family it is that Sean is getting the best care available and will be cared for life. Simon you are so right, if this tragedy had happened here in Ontario our comp system here would not come close to that of Alberta's.
  2. Thanks all for the best wishes. It is amazing how what we think are little things can effect our health so badly. We put off seeing Drs. especially us men. Don't put stuff off, it might even save your life. A pal had a dark spot on his lower back, by the time it turned ugly and he finally saw a Dr. it was too late. He died of Lymphatic Cancer within 18 months. He was told had he had it removed as soon as it appeared he would have had a good chance. His last year and a half on Earth he suffered badly through Chemo and Radiation and died an ugly painful death no Human should have to endure.
  3. Sometimes I go off half cocked before getting all the info. I confused Sean with Tyler. The annual ice fishing tourney is a fund raiser for Tyler now that I think about it, right?. Perhaps what I proposed for Sean can be done for Tyler and more members can be reached that can't or don't attend the derby. I am happy to hear Sean is getting the best care available. Thanks Rick.
  4. Must be bad material out there now. The fence I built in 86' looks new. A few posts checked but that's it.
  5. You can help then Rick. I never thought about a Go fund me page. Out of the loop for too long. That would be easy, just need to get the word out that's the hard part. That's a lot of PM's. How does one pay on gofundme? As an old fart I refuse to give my banking info on the internet. I am in the minority but I know there are other old farts that think like me.
  6. I consider my self a light green person but I wouldn't pay 1/4 of what they want to be green driving that thing. I like the Gull Wing doors though. 7 passengers? They haven\t seen my fat ass friends.
  7. I can't bring myself to watch the last video. I hope and pray that Sean's quality of life can be enhanced by this new technology. It is amazing what they can do today. When a store's clerk asks "would you like to donate to X,Y or Z today" think of Sean. I know it can become a pain but without public money technology like this might never happen. It is so important for us here to actively participate or donate to the winter Fish-a-thon. Correct me if the name is wrong but I'm sure it is for our big buddy Sean. Lets see if we can all raise a record number this year for this tough guy. I challenge all members here to raise a record number for Sean and his family. Some time ago someone said to me after pointing out this body builder type that this so and so over there is one of the toughest guys in Hamilton. I asked him why? Apparently he could empty a bar and paddy stack anyone that wanted to fight him and do the same with all the bouncers and anyone including the Heat when they arrived. A typical Hamilton definition of a tough guy. I said I knew many more tough guys than he will ever be. He said "impossible, never". I said a tough guy is someone that crawls out of bed at 5 AM everyday, scrapes the ice off the windshield and punches a clock at 06:00 to relieve someone on the Cast House floor or a rolling mill, maybe even a building to clean someone's offices. Works a 12 hour shaft plus night shafts and does the same thing over and over for 30 plus years. And he or her doesn't love it they have to do it and never complains to his family, that my friends is a tough guy. The absolute toughest guy around is in a nursing home bed for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week working his or her ass off to be able to talk let alone walk and the next toughest guy is the parent of these kids that walks into the room with a smile on their face after working that 12 hour shift. Now how tough must that be? I'll put up my tough guy against that so called tough guy any day, any time. What do you say we all get together this year and up 5 bucks each for this family regardless if we attend the Fish-a-thon or not. Less than 2 coffees for 1 day. We will figure out how to get the money together and to them latter. 5 bucks, come on all! I volunteer to organize it but may need some help. Can you help me please? Please tell me why we can't? I dare you.
  8. There's a guy on iboats.com that retrofit his own electric boat, 17' Bayliner bowrider. It flys but only has a 30 minute range at WOT. Again I am not able to cut paste the link here but will try to find it and type in the site. He built it in his garage, impressive. Range is the issue and cost since Hydro ain't cheap. I just fell off my chair. For the Model X 70D base price in Canada is $122,700.00 to $208,300.00 for the P90DL. Holy electric sticker shock. I am flabbergasted. Come on Man! You have to be a very serious green person to drive one of those. Yea "Green" as in the colour of 20's. Like 10,000 of them.
  9. No Netflix here Rick, I still have a VCR.
  10. I bought no less than 100 plugs and spoons from a guy that owned a flea market in Jarvis a few years ago. I have about 2 grand of antique lures. A few original Eppinger Dare Devils and Little Cleos. All for 40 bucks including the cardboard box. A few lures that have the company names went out of business in the early 20th century. I will never sell them. I bet my wife does when I'm dust for 45 bucks.
  11. Do you guys consider the Art work that the guy put out for Martin "tagging"? He used both brush and aerosol to paint. Not knowing the definition I think it's tagging. Maybe tagging is hit and run Art and this media has another name. Educate me via PM if you wish. I don't want to take away from your fantastic fishing report Akri. Believe it or not I paint with Water Colour and Acrylic on canvass or board and draw in pen and ink. Have been painting for my entire life. I'm not any good but earned an Art scholarship to both Rochdale and Sheridan College. in 73', not 1873, 1973 you wise guys. What do you think of the piece Akri and M2B2?
  12. Absolutely I relish the day someone can launch and retrieve their boat with out seeing a Gong Show. I am following Canada's Worst Driver this year that they filmed down the road at the old Dunnville Airport the past summer. Talk about a Gong Show. A friend does the security when they are filming and I have been there when they do film a few times this past summer. Man the best free entertainment ever. One idiot admits he needs 4 beers or more to get him relaxed enough to drive and admits to no less than 20 hit and runs in the last 2 years. I guess I trust auto pilot compered to that goof. Another can't drive without her phone on her lap and texts no less then 1000 times a day and 100% of the time when she drives, it relaxes her. There are only 1440 minutes in a 24 hour period. Another Hippy reads poetry and touches her beads with both hands and uses her legs to steer to drive as she chants her Mantras. I want 15 minutes in a room with them and a bucket of water and a towel.
  13. I think Dan would agree that not all punctures are pluggable depending on the location and size of the puncture. I trust my tire guy and I got a good size bolt in a tread that he repaired, another was a small screw in the indent of the tread profile that he wouldn't guarantee fixable. Thinking about it now it may be the other way around. Which is it Dan? When is a puncture not pluggable? Regardless no need to go to a specialist if your guy is any good.
  14. I definitely am pessimistic as far as the auto pilot cars go. I am very surprised the MOT is allowing them on public roads. Our provincial government doesn't trust us enough to cross the street, thus the flashing, beeping, bird tweeting and a timer on a crosswalk but auto pilot cars are safe enough? Do these cars have a big banner across the rear warning it is an auto pilot car, if not they should. I want to know myself so I can get away from it. The other downside to a auto pilot electric vehicle is the cost. They are expensive to buy and operate. I don't know about maintenance but a neighbour has a 1st generation Toyota Hybrid and his new battery bank was over 6 grand to replace. Similar to dropping in a new tranny I guess but I just bought a series 48 battery for my Silverado for 100 bucks and I don't expect to ever drop a new 4X4 tranny in it if service it as recommended. edit: I was quoted $225.00 for a new battery from the good guy I do all my service for the truck and my wife's Nissan. I am more than happy with Mikes service at Caledonia Tire Caledonia On. The same battery, no actually better battery was $99.99 from Acme Battery Parkdale Ave. N. Hamilton. Including the same warranty. He is the wholesaler to many shops. Cut out the middle man saves big bucks. I have been dealing with Acme for 40 years.
  15. I didn't realize that auto pilot cars are out there already. I was under the impression they are still in the test phase. I am really surprised they are out in public. I don't think I like the idea yet. Maybe that lady doing her hair and makeup the other day doing 100K was on auto pilot. I want one so I can post here on drive you guys bonkers on OFC while the car gets me to wherever I want to go, as long is it isn't 51 k's away and I don't have enough juice to get home. Are there charging stations out there besides the GTA?
  16. I was down your way recently Blaque. Played a round at Arrow Head with a few cousins from Akron and Pembroke. One teaches and coaches Baseball at Pembroke High. Had wings at Indian Falls, nothing much has changed there in the 50 plus years since I first went to the area. Beautiful countryside.
  17. Curtis Martin the Hall of Fame NFL running back commissioned an artist to do a large piece depicting his life's story using that media. The progression start to finish was filmed by NFL Films in an episode of "Football Life". Amazing work. I hope I can find it for you to see. That's Art. I found it on You Tube but can't paste the link here.
  18. If the age of vote eligibility was based on maturity the age to vote would be 35. For some they would never be able to vote. I have read about those that truly wish to immigrate here and spoken to American relatives and friends. They were all amazed how difficult it is to move into Canada. Some thought you showed up at the border and just crossed the line with a bit of paper work. And yes Art it is the same 2 or 3 members that get these threads locked out spoiling mature dialogue from the other members. One is actually asking you to lock it out, saves him typing I guess. Can't you just lock them out and let the adults play?
  19. Now that I can take especially when someone realizes how important it is to read the numbers. But just like every group of people some just have no respect for others property. You knew I'd bite didn't you?
  20. I bet Big Cliff can whittle you some. Having lost all medical benefits I only recently became aware of costs, I never realized how expensive it is. I went into see my Dentist as I am having pain in an upper Molar. When she came into the room I asked how much the exam would cost? It depends she said. I reached in my pocket and said "Give me 50 bucks worth". It was $105.00 for a 15 minute exam and 3 Xrays!!!!!! If it bothers me the tooth is coming out. After root canals, crown put on etc. they usually have to come out anyway. That's been my experience anyway.
  21. OK you 2 hooligan hip hopster whipper snappers I bite. The Art I get, in fact I really enjoy it, some is amazing. Some is just plain crap with the territory tagging just like animals marking their territory. What I do have issue with is me having to cover the cost of painting over my private property. Also the cost of painting rail cars when I was at the plant. Stelco at 1 time had the 3rd largest railroad behind CN and CPR. Taggers would jump the fence at night and tag rail cars. No harm, no foul? The car numbers couldn't be read and now I have to climb the slippery rungs of the cars and ID the material, dozens of them a shift and usually when it's cold and the rain and snow is blowing off the harbour. The Art I really get.
  22. There are only so many new innovations tackle companies can come up with every year to hook a fisherman but they all seem to be able to.
  23. For the price of some new lures I would be afraid to tie one on in case I loose it. Wall hangers.
  24. Tagging, nice. The rest I wrote is suitable for a PM only.
  25. Enjoy it while it lasts M2B2, you will be 40 soon. Humility changes as the years pass. I too apologize Ak. Get out here to Haldimand-Norfolk to golf. 40 to 50 bucks including cart on great courses that have a high slope rating. Check out the Greens of Renton online. The course not 5 miles from me is Coral Creek designed to host the Canadian Open in the early 60's but they ran out of money. Often rated in top 100 Ontario semi-private courses in Canada. 48 bucks all in Monday to Friday. That course would easily be 100 in the GTA or Niagara. One par 5 was rated as most difficult in Ontario a few years back when they redid the course. Over 530 yards from middle T's, 250 to the first water hazard, 275 to clear it, then 250 to clear second water hazard, lay up is to an Island. Of course the green is surrounded by pot bunkers. I put a 7 on the card and go to the next T. Oops, forgot the 80 foot plus high Oaks guarding a portion if the green. I have never scoped skis like that, but then again I haven't skied like since forever Dude. I asked you about the name before now that I remember. Enough on this computer get out fishing so I can read another report.
