  1. .045" diameter mono is about 130lb test.
  2. Standard lead core, TUF-Line for example in 27lb test is equivalent to 25 lb test mono, has a break strength of 31lbs and diameter is .045" or 1.145mm. edited: oops, that would be strength equivalent. Diameter on 25lb mono is approx. .020"
  3. That's something I don't take advantage of enough, Raf. I need to get into the habit.
  4. Good that you're loyal Mike. So am I, I think. It's just that Cabela's doesn't carry muskie sizes. Not the kind I use anyhow.
  5. I use a fair number of trebles and the best place I've found for price and service is: http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=products Unbelievable choice and great service. Try to get your retailer to match these prices.
  6. Thanks, it's been caught and looked after.
  7. No worries Frank. I think it's fair to say that you putting your trout pic up on our board served to educate more than a few others. I saw the thread on the other board. All's well.
  8. Letting it go would be the wisest thing to do. There is lots of good information in this thread. Let's not lose that info over some silly bickering.
  9. Happy Birthday, Betty. Have a great evening.
  10. Marten!
  11. Few people know that in the land of shadow puppets, shining a bright light on your hand while doing the Kendall salute will cause a rabbit to appear on your wall.
  12. Ed zachary!
  13. Every member of the weasel family kill for the pleasure of killing. They're agile, quick and intelligent. Cute little guys though.
  14. I take the batteries out of the boat and bring them inside. I know I don't have to, I just do. I also keep the batteries on a cart but only because it's easier to move them around, It has nothing to do with not wanting them on a concrete floor. The cart holds my 4 batteries and a charger.
  15. That is a very old myth. It was not recommended in the early 1900s. Read about it. Learn. Google "battery cement floor" and you'll have put another scary thing out of your life.
  16. Wow! Great job Brendan! You're a champion already!
  17. I might be a little late with this but maybe you should have gotten a Lowrance? My LCX 25C works well and my old X-85, after all these years works flawlessly. ps. Oh, disregard the above. Perhaps you should give Humminbird another crack at it. Hey, all the really good fishing dudes with those coloured shirts and sexy Humminbird logos all say they're the best they've ever used! C'mon Paul...buy another Humminbird. They already told you that they're aware of their limitations so it's only a matter of time before you're really somewhat happy with one.
  18. I'm not clear on who took whom under their wing. I know Chris has learned a lot!
  19. Good stuff Bud. Chris is on his way to the trailer. Don't tell him about your catch. You embarrass the poor guy.
  20. I told you to get a Lowrance, Paul. Seriously.
  21. I posted some pics a few years ago of some that I'd seen at the show in Montreal. They're a nice toy but I don't see them as being very practical unfortunately.
  22. As long as you guys got to shore safely David, it's all that really matters. It was a great start though!
  23. There's lots of fish, we're just a little low on chimes today.
  24. Good luck to you out there. Have a safe trip.
  25. No worries at all. I'm easy to confuse so the clearer the instructions, the better. You're looking at the Cataraqui River and there's a lot of fish in there. It's the southern end of the Rideau canal and empties into Lake O. I've never fished it but there is rumoured to be great pike in there as well as a bunch of other species. I'm sure someone will chime in with specifics.
