gone out 5 times over the last 3 weeks and not even a single hit ... used canned corn and worms now that it's finally warming up ... it might take a while for them to finish all the groundbait/chum that's still out there lol
-
man that is a sweet deal... thanks MTP ... too bad i already got mine during the spring sale ... o well
-
i'll be heading out on the canoe but haven't decided on a location yet. First time targetting them in spring and first time fishing open water for crappie so i'll see how that goes. Good luck to everyone who's heading out on the opener (trout/crappie)!!
-
thanks for all the replies! i'm still new to steelheading and it's been a while since i've caught a fish lol... i'll settle with anything that bites and puts up a fight it should be fun with light gear wolfville: come'on, i'm sure you have started fishing before i was born lol urbanangler: yup crappies are defintely on my list, but i'll wait till the opener ... how come you took off the 1990? i noticed it a while back..just never pointed it out

it's mid april and we're finally getting some nicer temps this coming weekend (i hope that the weatherman isn't lying) ... has the sucker started running yet? i'm sure there's the odd one in the tribs but are they in thick yet? ... i'm probably heading out this weekend and i might take a friend who's relatively new to fishing... so it would be a good idea to avoid the steelhead crowd but i don't know where i can go ... one of the creeks/streams that go into Simcoe? Thanks guys and girls.

if you're using it mostly for fishing, i'd recommend you to look at the square-sterned ones or one with a motor mount. You can fit a electric trolling motor or a small gas motor to push you around the lake. It's much easier on the arms after a long day of casting or if you're fishing a relative big body of water.

welcome back! missed all the pike reports from you and FHR
-
if you're having a hard time trying to remember what line's on the spool, that means you have way too many spools/reels ... to solve that problem, send it over to my house and i'll remember them for you... PM me for my address for spinning reels maybe you can stick a label on the inside of the spool (if the appearance is what makes you reject the idea of sticking labels)
-
congrats roger! finally got the baby sitting in your garage after the long wait eh! now we just need to wait for the openers
-
i guess it depends on what you usually target ... i used to get both OutdoorCanada and OOD ... personally i prefer OOD more because its focus is in Ontario it just sucks to read about all the amazing fishing somewhere else in Canada where you most likely wouldn't be able to get to lol
-
nice fish bly! really can't wait till the end of the week so i can get out there ... i've also bought a samurai-7i ... not as smooth as i thot it would be with the 7BB ... well more isn't necessery better but for that price it's a pretty decent reel. Thanks for the report
-
man o man, i think you really should go back to work CC ... for the following reasons ... 1) all the steelhead would be able to take a break from eating your speical bait and start spawning (lol) 2) you would not get any PM with profanity and offensive words sent from jealous/angry people as the one i was about to send out just kidding don't mind me, i am jealous though, stupid work once again great report!..
-
Certainly they're doing amazing. There's always someone who would step up when other are having a cold night. Just hoping that bargnani can come back soon. Go Raps!
-
it's guranteed to see some steelhead pics if you click into CC's reports great report as usual! can't complain about the camera when it still works after going for a swim lol
-
nice fish! i'm gonna die soon if the doesn't warm up ...
-
lol great idea ... uh i didn't know that they're in US funds ... no wonder i got more than what i thot i had at the checkout ... which was a nice suprise
-
i remember someone made a post titled "would you have done something different?" or somewhere along those lines a while back. The general consensus was that if you want to fish/hunt in private properties, it'd be a good idea to get written permission from the land owner. i don't think they can charge you if you have written proof? i couldn't be wrong though :S
-
o man that stinks mike ... hopefully you can find somewhere to go ... sounds like the US isn't a bad option
-
Good luck to you Steve! I wish that i could be out there ... stupid work ...
-
i'm doing civil engineering, on my 2nd year. will probably fish the grand quite alot.. mostly for carp and maybe bass... i think it'll be tough for me to do the tourney since i'm limited to shore-bound... but we'll see.
-
Nice video! Dang i'm jealous lol ... i went out 3 times last week and not even one single hit ...
-
Hey Bryce, i have never gone to the tourney but i'll be in Waterloo/Kitchener around that time (studying at the U of Waterloo and i'm on my co-op term right now, will be back in school from May-Aug) I'd be interested in going and hopefully get some responses with the info. Victor
