  1. Thanks TJ from the Stelco Fishing Club for your kind donation and letting me post about our night on OFC. Our night went off great. We had 300 people that attended. Pete Boman did a great fishing seminar along with comedian Mark Crocker and his puppet Chester. As mentioned Pete Bowman is a great guy to talk to and also is Mark Crocker. Thanks TJ Dave (Fish Farmer)
  2. I've got the Magellan Meridian Marine and like it. I've had it for about 7 years. I use it ice fishing, and on the dash of my boat. Never had a problem. 2 AA battery's last all day. It has saved the day many times. I must have 200 way point fishing hot spots program in it.
  3. Sure was sad last night. I went to the 1005 meeting last night. The look on peoples faces, was not nice. Some guys will never see a pension or will be reduced so much it will put them welfare, were nobody would have thought. Plus no benefits. This is just 1 company, the way things are going could be 100's
  4. And to think, "THE BIG CRASH" all started with the price of GAS going up. When will these IDIOTS stop telling people that $0.80 a litre is cheap. Put the gas were it should $0.35 a Litre and leave it there. Don't con us after a year when things pick up then stick it to us again putting the price back up. The world is run on BIG OIL & GAS Company's. Just look were all our money has gone "Dubai" Nobody can afford buying new cars, trucks, boats, rec toys, Travel, etc. Transportation costs. Every thing stems from the price of Gas and Diesel. They have alternative fuels that will work, put the big mungers won't let it happen. They can bail out till the cows come home, nothing will change. You have to fix were it started, or were in this recession then depression for the long haul. The sad thing, I think it's to late. Were wounded, it's going to be a long time to heal. Chris, I feel for you buddy, I was one of the lucky ones after 38 years I got my pension from there. I've been on the phone all day talking to our Buddy's, Just makes me cry listening to them. This should have never happened. Come on by Chris.
  5. Thanks guys, I guess I'll stick to Nautilus. I think Nautilus is made by Castrol or Shell

  7. $85.00 at the Sportsman Show or was it Bass Pro. I did my test years ago, the card is wore out now. Sportsman Show did it then for free if you failed, $20.00 if you pass. My point was, you know who doesn't need one and SOME inexperienced tourist. I guess I put my boat away after 44 days of fishing I can't believe I said that Spiel OH, I called the company that did mine and they'll issue me a new one for $20.00 Also there is no computer data base for the operator card , isn't that nice.
  8. Q. Is there a grandfather clause or age exemption? A. No, there is no grandfather clause or age exemption – this law applies to all operators, regardless of age. Q. I have a sailboat. Do I need an Operator Card? A. If you have an auxiliary engine fitted to your sailboat, then you need the Card. This applies even while you are under sail. Q. Do Native Americans or Inuit people need to have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card? A. Yes, unless the boat is being used for sustenance reasons (such as hunting or fishing). A Pleasure Craft Operator Card is only required for recreational boating activities. Q. I operate a boat for work purposes. Do I need the Card? A. No. A Pleasure Craft Operator Card is only required by operators of watercraft being used for recreational purposes. It is common however for many commercial establishments (such as marinas, and fishing & hunting lodges) to ask their staff to obtain their Pleasure Craft Operator Card. Q. What if I don’t live in Canada, but boat there? A. Non-residents only need to obtain a Pleasure Craft Operator Card if they are operating their powered boat in Canadian waters for more than 45 consecutive days or if the boat they are operating is registered or licensed in Canada (this includes rented boats). Boater Education Cards or equivalent certifications are recognized in Canada. Proper identification should be kept on board at all times to provide proof of residency.

  11. We haven't seen nothing yet . As long as the media and government politicians keep lying to us , were going down big time. Oil going up, gas went up. Oil going down, gas still going up. Who's lying to who . Lets buy foreign, save the country's jobs. Buy 4 cylinder foreign cars and stay in the back yard. What are you going to pull with a 4 cylinder piss pot. Tourism going to be hit big time Know one buying large vehicles because of the gas prices. Scared to buy because when you do they but the gas back up and your stuck. At $ 4.00 a gallon they say were getting a deal Buy Canadian, if you can find anything. Man I hope we don't lose our health care, my blood pressure is going up

  14. Seen a video on another site. I'll be wearing my high insulated rubber boots. The water slush looked 4 to 6" . Could ruin a good day with wet cold feet.

  17. Was out yesterday, myself and 3 other buds at St. Williams. We fished from day light to 3:30 PM. we moved around a lot. Finally found small Perch near the pile of ice, way out, slightly east. We ended the day with maybe 20 just keepers very small for 4 guys. Ice was OK but we walked watching very closely. Some spots looked scary. It was nice to be on the bay again. If your going out be very careful your on your own. I think we counted 12 guys out all day. It varied 4" to 6" 7", Over at the pile ice I drilled down about 15" then lose ice under that. I think that pile ice reaches the bottom. I tried fishing their because it could be a structure thing, maybe the Perch would be around there. The only thing, there was a lot of dinkers. I caught 1 Mud Puppy , not by choice and one of my buds caught and broke off a small Pike 3 lb test line no match. I don't know were the big Perch are. Maybe not in yet, thats my excuse.

Now I can only fish when I have time between playing Dr. Phill, family councilor, and working three fishing Clubs. No dull moment's with this cat. Asked if I would do it over, Your dam wright. 21. They sure attracted me, like allot of lures in my box that haven't caught fish. They look realistic, but a spoon doesn't look like a minnow, it's the flash, movement, etc. It's all in what you believe that catches the fish. I've seen fish caught on a Beer cap lure, go figure
  22. It's the oil company's to blame, "Gouging" and the government for allowing all the foreign car company's in this country. Why can't we sell our cars in other country's Now you want to blame the workers. Isn't it funny how the government can screw our heads up
