Looking for a BnB or other place for the Mrs and I
Billy Bob replied to GBW's topic in General Discussion
Maybe I missed it.......but did you mention the exact time of year....could really make a difference where I would recommend ??? -
I think it may be a good thing to have "IF" you dock you boat and only fuel from marina's all year long where water "can" be a problem.....but 27 years of not having one in my Fishing Machine has proven to me that "I" don't need one. Gone Fishing, Bob

You know how those Ohio Guys are....always wanting to tilt the election in their favor.....LOL....later....have big Fire Hall meeting soon.....but remind me....me forgets.....now what are we talking about....the weather...

Do you know any natives that live in the area.....most I know drowned while canoeing in the Niagara River..... Seriously.......where are you intending to use this canoe ? ? ?

You know Merc....many (not all) are young anglers here that may have not "YET" experience a close call while enjoying their favorite sport....I hope they never do have that close call or a even worse experience....but many of the older guys like myself have been around the block, some a couple of times...and while maybe they didn't personally have a close bad experience they know of someone who did....are all these fellow anglers deserving of the ridicule that these two guys got here on this forum....GOD, I hope not. So make a mockery of me if that makes you feel better.....but I stand by above post, so mock away if that's the best you have to say.... -

You should all be ashamed of yourself's.... I read the article like most or everyone here and have no other info except what I read....plain and simple.... However, MOST here want to be judge and jury and hang some fellow anglers when you know mostly NOTHING what really transpired on that ice except for what some ill-informed reported wrote....hell, their names were not even reported by said bad reporter. That alone shows you how much investigated reporting this NON NAME Reporter did. I don't know, but MAYBE just maybe they were on the ice to recover one of their ice huts....what if it was your hut....would you be out there to hopefully bring it back to shore ? We as angler and hunters need to embrace each other and stand by each other as both of these sports are on a continualas attack by the famous tree hugging nutcases. And as far as charging them $$$ and also charging them for some kind of criminal or whatever is REDICKULAUS IMHO....these same anglers are also being charge HIGH taxes like the rest of us....so now they need government assistance and you're all in favour of them pay even more money now is crazy.... What is next.....let's say you have a 14' tinny and you go out fishing on Simcoe but it's a bit rough....but you intend to stay on the edge of the bay where many walleyes hang out on a breezy day....but today your little outboard fails you and you go a drift into even larger waves and have to be rescued.....should you have to pay for your rescue mission also....What should be the wave limit on a 14' boat, a 16' boat or a 20' boat....should the already over powered government have a say on this also.... Why crack open this can of worms.....it will only come back to HAUNT you in the end....for cry out loud....don't we all PAY too much for too little already from our government officials.....isn't this EXACTLY why we pay them already ? ? ? Let's just be glad that this wasn't a worse ending and hopefully many have learned by it....of course there will be others that didn't read or hear about this next year....but they are still our fishing brothers, are they not.... Bob -
I doubt it will be with any crappies as I have to catch some first.... But I have PLENTY of Lake Erie's Finest PERCH to try it with....
-
Beans, this one sounds different and GOOD......I'll be trying this probably Friday......THANKS... Bob
-
YEP, But I couldn't access my boat until yesterday....but last Monday I was ICE FISHING here.....what lake is open the last couple of weeks by you ?
-
All our ice is GONE.... Boat is back since yesterday....needs to be prepped... Weather looks good for tomorrow and even BETTER on Thursday 64 degrees... I will be heading out Wed or Thurs for crappie on Chautauqua Lake.... I could even fish for walleye as Thursday is the last day until it reopens again on the first Sat of May... So is anyone boat fishing for crappies up there or are you guys still ice in ?
-
But officer, I wasn't speeding.....it was my truck.... BTW....Toyota found out they were all scams....but the press never covered that, did they....and I never had my accelerator peddle replaced.
-
LOL.... :rofl2: Yep, that's me laughing every time I go by a Ford dealer repair shop...
-
Do you like the taste of PORK CHOPS......if so, then get some TUNA STEAKS and do them on the grill.....if blind folded I might have a tough time telling the difference.
-
When I had my cottage at Chautauqua Lake, I had one year that the ice left real early.....fished walleyes on the north end of the lake in my boat on March 13th (walleye closes here on March 16th) in the morning (caught 1 walleye), then fished for crappies (caught many crappies) at the south end of the lake....and from what I hear, this year I could do the same thing....only problem, my boat is stuck in storage until maybe late this week....but I'm trying to pry her out... ...we are expecting lost of NICE weather here for most of this week....
-
They didn't want to lose him.....once they cross over to our side, most never go back....LOL
-
But it has to include the Canadian Maple Syrup and you have to include the vanilla ice cream....
-
YES, that is exactly what the lemon is used for and why it's served with seafood.....you can also squeeze some on the fish fillet before you broil it, add a little kosher salt, pepper and garlic powder and you got yourself a very nice HEALTHY fish dinner....only take about 10 minutes under the broiler....damn, sounds so good, I think that's what I will have tomorrow.... But here's my best suggestion......go catch some CRAPPIES.....the meat is PURE white when cooked and NO fishy taste whatsoever.....but after you catch them put them on ice in the cooler if you don't have a livewell....DO NOT put them on a stringer and have them bake in the sun all day while fishing....they are a delicate fish and they need to be treated like one.....but are by far the best non fishy tasting fish you can catch in Ontario. Good Luck, Bob
-
Up until last year the deal was you could travel back and forth visa versa as long as you did NOT anchor and did NOT dock or come a ground....but that all changed last summer when a NYS fishermen got fined in Ontario Waters while fishing the St Lawrence.....there was a big article last year in the Buffalo News......but then I "think" both countries have since back off again and it's back to where it use to be, come and go freely...but that can change again in the blink of an eye..... ....I, myself have fished in Canadian waters hundreds of times while launching out of Buffalo in Lake Erie and will continue to do so....so if you read about a crazy Redneck being dragged into Ontario jail, it's only me...

YEP, I agree.......the Tundra's gas tank should be at least 10 gallons bigger.....and I traded a Ford in on my Toyota Tundra.
-
NICE looking reel Paul....I have a similar one I purchased in the mid 70's....when I get my boat back I'll have to check on the model #....it's green, not red and it doesn't have a traditional star drag but you rather let go of the handle and then drag then works.....caught a lot of nice pike on it years ago in Nipissing....when I get my boat back I check in the garage attic where I store all my fishing "stuff".... I also had one of those old yellow Eagle Claw rods, but my was also a spinning model....that might also be up in the garage attic.....
