  1. We might ust do that Mike - I think a lot will depend on the winds - they're showing 30k west winds in the forecast now so we might limitedin options with the little rental tinny. Oh and I picked up one of the 10' crappe poles from Lebaron - wonder if the spots in Pigeon are still holding fish?
  2. Sweet stuff Brandon. That mittful of minnows pic is really cool.
  3. Nice job guys, thats a real beaut for sure
  4. I know the guy who built the bike in the vid (well kinda know - he's married to a family friend). In fact I went to the school he's riding at from kindergarten to grade 8. He holds a guiness record for tallest bike (or did) and has a couple books out about doing custom bikes.
  5. Thanks smallie. Dave - we're not going to Sunday so I won't know anything til your out there (actually you'll probably beat us - we're renting so we won't get out til they open)
  6. Thanks JD, very helpful info. Would have loved to hear 'they're on fire just drop anything over the side' but this certainly helps edit: I can't spell
  7. Not quite exact matches but here's a couple Cliff: Here's aggressive but to the camera so don't know if that counts board name is me - tbayboy Sorta frustrated: bitsmith2k (suprising he actually goes fishing with me given how I'm a fishing curse when ever we're out together): Those links are to 1027x768 - I can resize if you want.
  8. Hey everyone. Going to be out on Rice Sunday and was wondering if anyone has any recent experience with her they wouldn't mind sharing? We'll be launching near Gores Landing and we've got a few spots marked out for checking but I'm always looking for help (hey I need all the help I can get). Targeting 'eyes for the most part but if there's any crappie still around that would be a nice as well. Thanks in advance (PM me if you want to keep anything away from the all seeing eye) Sean
  9. Great report and congrats on the engagement.
  10. Hahaha thanks for the great evening laugh you two
  11. There are shrimp in Simcoe? Looks like a great way to spend the day to me (bugs aside). Congrats.
  12. had the pike attack one last year - you can hear how excited we were so I can just imagine a bug musky: <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="375" data="http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=49235"'>http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=49235" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"> <param name="flashvars" value="intl_lang=en-us&photo_secret=d7992dbaf9&photo_id=2402492650"></param> <param name="movie" value="http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=49235"></param> <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"></param> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=49235" bgcolor="#000000" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="intl_lang=en-us&photo_secret=d7992dbaf9&photo_id=2402492650" height="375" width="500"></embed></object>
  13. Nice trip and report. Whatever you do don't let that land leave the family (I know from experience - stupid squabbling parents/uncles/aunts ruined it for us grandkids)
  14. Wonderful report Whopper. Those are some beauty pike and I imagine you had your fill of tasty walleye. Great way to start the season, thanks for the report.
  15. Nice one Kemper. Those camping trips are never anything but good clean family fun right?
  16. Amazing pics Clive. Sure sounds like a great place (I've been to Monterays and that took nearly the full day so I can imagine this one). Congrats on the striped bass story - I'm sure eventually someone will believe you
  17. Nice fish guys. Sure is nice seeing all these reports again.
  18. Sounds like a fun paddle back up the lake Jedi . Nice pike there tough and looking forward to hearing about muskies dragging you all over the place.
  19. That pike spot definitely isn't for kids, you have to be careful but the spots we fish from are fairly rebar clear (more likely to fall in the water then into rebar). Thanks Glenn, thats pretty much what I was doing - i'd drag it around the bottom a bit to stir things up then hang it an inch off the bottom with little shakes and the odd lift. When I felt a bump I'd lift and voila - snagged fish. My guess is that they were bumping the spoon with their bodies vs sucking it in so when I lifted I grabbed them by whatever part had bumped the lure. Too bad my fishtv doesn't go that deep or we could have just watched it happen. Just to be clear its wasn't me driving when it got stuck - My buddies never gonna live that down but this year the trip isn't til August
  20. Great stuff. Congrats on all the firsts and have fun in Algonquin - can't wait to hear how it went.
  21. Fished it a couple times last year. Found loads of panfish near the locks if your looking for that. Was also told that you can get the eyes there (there's a big basin just out from the locks) but I can't attest to that as we just got panfish and some bass along with a small muskie.
  22. Nice story, great way to introduce someone to fishing and damned tasty looking too.
  23. Congrats Al, nice job out there. We were in that crowd somewhere as well but didn't fare quite as well (electronics problem - I'm sticking that excuse)
  24. Cool report - really nice to see canoe reports.
  25. Congrats, nice job on hunting them down
