  1. Here's a pic of my catch from last night, sorry for the quality, my buddy E-mailed it to me, I did my best to try and sharpen and lighten it , In my left hand I'm holding about 22lbs of fish in the other about 8 lbs of fish, all caught on a 6" perch Suick , I left the boat at home and fished from shore right below the dam in downtown Sturgeon Falls, the bite started at 9:30 or so. We divided the catch , so we were legal for slot sizes. Fishfry for supper tonight!!
  2. Very nice first Muskie,, what did ya catcher on ? Welcome aboard!!
  3. EH! I'm a avid walleye angler myself,, I also fish current ,, here's my setup, 7'berkely Lightenin' rod, med action, I've been using the same rod for Walleye now for 15 yrs and I love it, when I'm fishin' a lake I use a 15 yr old Bionix Pulse6'6"' med/lt... I like the med action in the current especially if yer using heavier jigs.. That's my opinion and I'm stickin' with it.. ZZZZZZZZZZING!..............SNAP!!
  4. come down hwy 64 to Stugeon Falls, on yer way by ..tons of leeches here , the wholesaler lives just down the hill from me. call me at work; I 'll get ya some no prob...705 753 9992
  5. same as boatman... diesel is a thicker fuel and has a higher flashpoint there would be no reason for it to clean anything.... This guy you met at the gas station is probably thinkin' Wow !! my car is now smoking I must be cleaning something.. If you must clean the fuel system try a can of Seafoam.. available pretty much everywhere.. part ## SF16 works great.. I do Not reccomend using the diesel...If you do I just might see you at my parts counter looking for something expensive .
  6. Keep the metal line!!! add a leader fluoro preferrably.. for every 100' ft of the line out your lure is 20ft down.. works great for lakers. don't even attempt to cast with it... if there is no line counter on your rell you may buy an in-line counter for 'boot 20 $...the spring is there to prevent kinks and to not wera a groove in your eyelet..
  7. That's a tough call man!! It's sacrificing comfort for fuel economy.. just like buying a larger boat.. If you ask me... try using fuel saving upgrades ... I sell these everyday.. they work on about 60% of vehicles ... in mine for instance 2001 Expedition Eddie Bauer 4x4 5.4l v8 Triton...Does not work!! works well on newer chevy products..and HEMI some Ford trucks. and ALL diesels... Performance air filter , more than 15 brands to choose from , people flock to K&N , but I reccomend a Fram Air Hog for 1/2 the price, depending on what your tow vehicle is maybe a Tornado Air Insert ...and even a power tuner for about 500$ ( this works on all vehicles that have an application ) pays for itself in economy in less than a year.
  8. EH! Berkeley Gorilla Stick,, can't go wrong , available in many classes.. very affordable and tough as nails.. very versatile...good for braided lines. ZZZZZZZZZZZING!!
  9. Yes Clamp-It... I backreel when I can It usually depends on the set up I' using my Lightenin' carries a reel that has a continous anti-reverse...so I have to count on my skills & my drag. Good Fishin'
  10. When I troll for Lakers with my 'riggers I use Sufix 12lb.. with a get this.. a Trilene XL 10' leader { for a little stretch} tied to ball bearing snap swivel set up on a ..Meduim Light action 7' Berkley Lightnin' Rod ... beleive me every fish feels BIG... I 've brought in 23lb lakers and a few 10lb+ bonus Walleye on this set up...just use your drag system and you win every time !! Good Luck !!
  11. I do ALOT of ice fishin' I tried it a few years ago..lines like Gorilla Braid ..Spider Wire.. freeze up real quick, but last year I tried Sufix.. micro braid... awesome!! works great on a jiggin' rod...DO NOT put it on a dead line in this case No Stretch is'nt the best. If you decide to go back to mono I suggest .. berkley's ZUB ZERO.. Good Luck on the hard water.
  12. Nice pics T.J. ..... Congrats on yer 18 yrs.!!
  13. Where from? Eh.. Sturgeon fishing takes patience ... Unless your're fishing overpopulated fisheries like the Groundhog River in Timmins,On. ..Places like the Frazer are good places to Start.. I've Lived there and fished it and it's amazing.. consider a Guide the first time out . If not any bait shop in Port Coquitlam will tell ya where to go. Be prepared you'd be amazed at the tidal current in the Fraser... minimum of 2oz..sinkers are required ... and dou you have a HUGE SLINGSHOT? you may need it if you're fishin' from shore.. I've since returned to my hometown here in Sturgeon Falls. On, where Sturgeon fishing is now prohibited.. due to overfishing, in 1988 we were Caviar capital of the World...we beat out Bakail Russia for the title.. All these Sturgeon came from Lake Nipissing & the Sturgeon River.. A population survey is now being conducted. and a tagging program is now in place. Just 2 weeks ago a 125lb specimen [Lake Sturgeon]was measured tagged and released. The population is almost strong enough ..they say . to support a 1 fish per season limit..no netting of course...local natives still do unfortunately. You can catch 'em by accident here while using live bait ,50-80lbs... but has'nt happened to me so far this year. But has happened to a few buddies of mine this summer. There's still time till Ice_Up. Lost of info out there on Google.. for tactics and techniques..Nylon sock stuffed with old Liver streched over a huge triple hook tied off with red yarn for good measure worked for me.. Good Luck.
  14. OH!!! and a Sheepshead on Saturday ,,.. that's all I think I'm done. I trap Minnows does that count ? ... if so ...well.
  15. I forgot White Bass [ Silver] ,, and Creek Chubs while fishin' for specs .... and my son caught a Sculpin does that count?
  16. Blue gill, Punkin'seed, Perch, Rock Bass, Smelt ,Whitefish, White Sucker, Black Sucker, Redhorse Sucker, Pike , Muskie , Largemouth Bass, SmallMouth Bass, Walleye, Cats, Speck, Splake , Lakers and being from Sturgeon Falls.... no Sturgeon so far this season... Tightlines .....Goodluck..... ZZZZZING!!!!>>>SNAP!!!

  21. Same here it's happened with pike before but never ..until yesterday happen with a Muskie.. ZZZZZZZING!
  22. That technique works great !! We've been using it on remote lakes where access is impossible with a 4x4 and trailer..... A.T.V or portage type of lakes,. p.s that technique also works great for suspended walleye, use a natural looking crankbait. ZZZZZZZZZZING!
  23. I hope it happens again in the coming weeks, but I want to win th battle next time..!!
  24. Thanks for the report .. nice pics. I missed a nice Trophy today as well, but I was Walleye fishin' he thought it was bait. Congrats
