  1. It makes no difference, it's called metabolism, none of what the fish eat ends up in the flesh, fish is mostly water and barely any blood lines [veines ]running through the flesh. but a little more so in the salmon families. if properly cooked there is'nt any problems. Kinda like salmonella or hoof and mouth, or even Mad Cow. Fish like humans have kidneys a liver and such to filter and discharge any unusable food sources. Unless yer talkin heavy metal contamination like mercury , lead. you should be safe. Like a Dump Bear ther meat is just a good to eat{ the taste may be affected}. but is as just a nutritious as a prairie Bear or a woodlot Bear. Just don't eat the organs[ but who would?]. But why are the carp dying ? any answres from the MNR?
  2. anode, or trim tab < I've also heard of a trimamabob or antiwrestleyerenginabob.
  3. nice catch !
  4. THE WHOLE OF LAKE NIPISSING CLOSES ON OCTOBER 15 TH NO LINES MAY BE PUT IN THE WATER 'TIL JANUARY 1ST 2008 ,IT'S A SANCTUARY. NEW RULES FOR 2008, THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IMPLEMENTED THIS YEAR WERE ABOLISHED 'TIL 2008 . SO NEXT YEAR WE'RE GOOD 'TIL NOVEMBER . I FISH IT DARN NEAR EVERY DAY , VERY VERY GOOD FOR BIG EYES AND PIKE AND HUGE MUSKIES. THE BIG BASS BITE IS ON AT THAT TIME TOO BUT SLOWING DOWN. IN THE FALL FISH GO BACK UP TRIBUTARIES LIKE THE FRENCH , STURGEON AND WASI RIVERS. I LIVE ON NIPISSING TAKE MY WORD. THE NEW RECORD MUSKIE WILL BE COMING OUT OF NIPISSING IN 2008 CAUSE BY THE TIME THE SEASON CLOSES THEY'RE JUST GETTING HUNGRY !! I CAN'T WAIT. GOOD LUCK MUSKIEMAN..
  5. when are ya gonna be here? i fished Lakair on this past sunday and did very good ,, GO BIG OR GO HOME!! . they were hitting 3/4 os --1 /oz spinnerbaits, light colored with a red/white colorado blade, add a singer hook and a 4" gulp twister tail for good measure. i also did good with a williams wabler with an added weedless triple hook. it's a light spoon for it's size it can stay above the weeds. if you' re gonna use any body bait remove the front hook cause there are alot of weeds. p.s the water is very stained after 13 days of rain and pollen.. so use a louder bait try to cast spoons high up so they hit the water with a slap. Muskieman Good Luck !

  7. EH! I do it all the time , here's what you do... #1 take a 6x10 " peice of tin, body metal , aluminum ,, metal of some kind 'boot as thick as a can of ravioli.. #2 fold it in half , so you have a folded peice that's 3x10 2x thick. #3 punch a little hole on both corners , thru both thicknesses of the metal. #4 punch another hole at one end of the fold. #5 attach 15-20 feet of good fishing line to the hole in the fold #4 [ i recommend 50 -80 lb] #6 now stuff your sheetmetal sandwich with liver. #7 take twist ties and put them in holes #3 to keep your sandwich [ enveloppe] shut. take care to not sinch it upp to tight ..leave room for the leeches.!! #8 put whole apparatus in the freezer til it's time to use. //////////////// try a pond or a creek. marshy areas are the best up here,, small lakes with muddy bottoms are weeeds are usually pretty good. Good Luck Leechin' Muskieman!! ZZZZIIINNNG!
  8. i just put 2 plugs i for good measure and it ran fine for 10 minutes full tilt and is doing the same. i swapped the coils from top to bottom and guess what now it's the top cylinder that gets no spark. now i'm 99.9% sure it's a coil. time to call the dealer .
  9. I just got off the phone with BRP's tech line and it sounds like a coil to them. Randy
  10. My 1998 Rude 30 tiller is acting up. when i reach full throttle is seems to misfire until it warms up..then i'm ok. this morning i went out and it did the same it ran fine for 10 minutes full throttle and then cut to one cylinder. after a while of investigation i determined that the lower ignition coil was'nt firing. i trolled home to the dock with my electric. i decided to try it out at the dock and it ran fine on 2 cylinders. and after a 2 minute ride the coil cut out again. now in my driveway with the muccf on it ran fine full out for 2 minutes and did it again. #1 ; i'll try switching my coils around, sounds like the lower one gets hot and cuts out, cools off and runs fine. #2 C.D.I i do not want to buy a new one!!! too $$ strange.. it just started to run on one again and i give it a shot of gas and #2 kicks in. plugs are new, checked all my wiring for cracks corrosion and ect . everything is tight. gel behind C.D.I is clean and does'nt seem to have heated up dry as a bone. i've heard of smaller Rudes havin coil problems but are these the right symptoms. cause i know that on a car a coil either works or it does'nt. Fishin for tips. thanks for all the help in advance. Muskieman
  11. part# for drawbar from Draw tite is # 3593 //6 5/8 long with a 2 1/8 rise ,pin included for 28.99$ you'll need a ball for around 10.00$. here's the tricky part, imports have a 5 wire set up for brakes and signals so you have to buy a converter. i can not seem to find a direct fit T-Connector for your car so it might cost a little more time for the wiring , this converter converts a 5 wire set up to a 4 wire flat. it is available at any autoparts place for about 15.00$ . and then get some tape heat shrink and a 5 foot roll of trailer wire and go nuts it isn't a hard job it'll just take a little longer i figure it should be a 6 BEER job. good luck Muskieman
  12. 2004 Toyota Corolla re: trailer hitch the only hitches available for your model are class 1 hitches REESE # 77036 @ 149.99 DRAW TITE # 24723 @ 145.99 **** 15 in stock @ KEYSTONE PUTNAM # 55191 @ 159.99 HIDDEN HITCH # 60964 @ 169.99 i reccomend finding a location Benson Auto Parts [auto parts Extra] or NAPA or anybody else that sells Keystone products[ it's kinda like a Sears catalogue for guys] they will be able to give you these prices. Draw Tite is available in 2 days from point of order. most retailers will not charge you shipping. please add about 25.00$ for your receiver [flat bar] and your pin and ball. I hope this helped. Muskieman.
  13. EH! Try hardwiring it direct to the battery and if it works you know it's not the pump. then go to your switch and bypass it by crossing the wires, you probably have four wires back there 1 ground 2 lives coming in and 1 going out [1 live is for the light usually smaller guage wire] then if the pump works, you'll need a new switch[ the light has it's own feed and shares a common ground it can work ,while another contact in the same switch has failed] but an even easier way is with a test light, just use the common ground behind the switch ,ground the light. poke at the other feeds to see if you have power. if you have power coming out of the switch go test the pump the same way. i hope i haven't confused you and caused more good than harm, good luck. Muskieman

  15. I'm jealous i'd go if i could .. we've been catching em here since walleye opener. on jigs and minnows most times they didn't make it to the net.. it'll be a good opener here too {Sturgeon River /lake Nipissing}.We usually do very very good in the fall. Good Luck on the water . Muskieman
  16. Ford vs. Chevy Lakers grow bigger than Muskies..lakers are usually caught deeper therefore a better fight cause lasts longer.. nowadays people are using more downriggers and lighter tackle to tackle these fish long -gone are the days of an old steel line and a big winch at one end attached to an old blue fishin pole...don't get me wrong steel-lining still works great i still use it on some lakes. I once caught a 35lbs in Schefferville PQ .in 25 feet of water 10 trilene Xt .7' med Berkley Lightnin'Rod very good fight. it pulled hard at first but soon fizzeled out MUSKY: BY FAR WAY MORE EXCITING!!!! CATCH A 35LB RIGHT BY THE BOAT IN 8 FEET OF WATER AND 4 FEET OF WEEDS...SUCCESFULLY LANDED AND RELEASED[photo's taken]' #1 CHECK YOUR PULSE #2 CHECK YOUR SHORTS I PICK THE MUSKY. and oh .. when's the last time a Laker has swam up and stolen a Walleye off your line?? i like Laker fishin i do it alot they're in my top 5 Good Luck on the water . Muskieman
  17. Thanks Lew... tc man Randy
  18. EH! i'm looking for a new jerkbait rod preferrably in a baitcast type how long should i go? i had a berkley Gorilla Stick heavy action and loved it but unfortunately broke it over the weekend. i might buy anotherone pretty cheap $$ and lasted 7 years of abuse. just looking for suggestions, opinions. Thank yazall!! Randy
  19. i have an older Power Drive unit on my boat as well it does take a pounding and still works very well. as for pedal problems: every winter i take my pedal apart and use an electrical contact cleaning spray i wait till it dries and then spray on some dielectric grease. it has'nt let me down yet it's over 10 years old. and for cable drive units { guy wires like on a 10 speed} true totally quiet and turn much faster, fairly easy to repair, if a cable breaks. helps preserve your battery 1 motor not 2. disadvantage. short cable, sore leg after a 2 day tournament especially if it's windy. Good Luck shoppin' Muskieman...
  20. check out West Nipissing there are tons of lodges here and all want your business. ask me and i'll name at least 10. some are fancier than others.. choice of 5 or 6 lakes in the area. fish for whatever ya want ... town is close . Good Luck !! Muskieman
  21. Sorry to hear it man! thats a bummer Eh? i'm sure you can get back on yer feet and try it in anotherway. We need another show especially one that focuses on the North. I tried once but they said i was too young then 16.. but they accepted my plan on paper . and when it came time for funding and air time, i was shot down. They were producing another fishin' show that same season, called Fishin the North with Don M**k. He worked for MCTV at the time. Good Luck with your endeavours I'm sure you'll find a way. try you-tube. Muskieman.
  22. you need a new battery man! here's one exide # 27dp700 or 24dp625 you should be able to purchase them for about 89.00$ for the 27 and about 74.00$ for the 24. dp means dual purpose i reccomend this one. lotsa cranking amps to start an engine and a great reserve capacity. for your electronics and trolling motors. i know i sell 'em everyday and use 2 myself. Good Luck!
  23. I KNOW THOSE PEOPLE TOO.. BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY DID. GOO FISHIN'
  24. there were over 200 teams out on the water.. 185 teams caught their limits[ 6 per team] big fish of the day was a little over 33" so about 10lbs. our local Conservation Officer ,Bill, won the tourney.. taking home 2 14 foot aluminums w/15hp on a trailer. there were a total of 12 inch points separating 1st from 30th place. i was replacing a team member in another boat yesterday. [i freebeed in] we ended up in 8 th place taking home 2 King Canada portable wood planers 2 coleman coolers. and 2 spinning combo's each. we caught a few bonus momma Walleyes 1x26" 1x28" they were released. my buddy caught a 22" Largemouth.. 5 1/2bs or so. the black flies were horrible in the A.M. but the wind blew in , in the P.M and the flies were gone a few lucky anglers were spoiled by catching large Muskies apparently a team from Oakville caught one of 50" 40-45 lbs .. i was told .. and a few more were caught between 20-30lbs by other teams. this year was the 25th anniversary of this tourney. 25th place was a very big LCD t.v.. worth a couple thousand $$. it was a 5 way tie for 25th .. they had a draw. All in all a great day on the water. Good Fishin'
