September 26, 1990 Schefferville Quebec.. I once crossed Lake Nipissing on snowmobile on December 2nd ,1992 and with my truck on the 10Th that same year. It's looking good for an early ice up here ..some of the bays have more than an inch and 90% of the ponds are frozen enough to support a 4 wheeler.. If it keeps up like this I'll be splaking in about 2 weeks . -

I found this cool lure called ..get this .."The Banjo Minnow"..... I actually bought a Rocket Fishin Rod for my 3 year old and she loves it , she was taking pot-shots at passer-by beavers with it and actually reeled a fair amount of panfish and a Walleye. I graduated my 10yr old to a spincast.. I have all the equipment I'll ever need.. bout the only time I buy stuff is when I lose something Believe me I lose alot of lures... so far this year I'm probably looking at 400.00$ worth of lures alone.. not counting the line and stuff that I'll never use.. Best lure I've bought this year ... I a refill of 4" white Berkley Gulp twister tails and a whole whack of short shank Fireball Jigs assorted colors... Mostly chartreuse and orange. #2 Blackfly Tackle 1.0 oz spinnerbaits great $$ tough as nails and catch fish.

Cigarette Smoking . . . . . . (Definately N. F.)
Muskieman replied to Photoz's topic in General Discussion
I smoke , but not in the truck with the kids..I do if I'm alone and do so with the window open .. When I grew up .. We'd go for trips to wherever..I'd say " Mom! the seatbelt is poking me in the back! " She'd tell me to stuff it down the seat.. "Don't roll down the window ,you're letting the smoke out!"..."Give your Dad another beer"...that's how alot of us grew up. Now they are just giving monies out for research , if a "Study Shows" that such and such thing is bad for you or others... a law will be passed against it.. people knew this was wrong 35 years ago the public was less informed and less involved back then.. With the food they're feeding us nowadays who knows.. better give you're kids all the chances they can get.. "THEY" aren't done "Studying" the Pepsi generation yet. I think the law is to enforce common sense... Gotta wonder how they'd enforce it .. with tinted windows nowadays ? Would they have a "S.M.O.K.E" program like a "R.I.D.E" What would be the charges..? $$ -
My condolences go out to all of the soldiers families and friends an all affected by such. We are there because of our government , we are following the US in the" WAR AGAINST TERROR" or the $$$... I was in Bosnia in the 90's when we were as Canadians , still PEACEKEEPERS but now we are embedded in there for the long haul as soldiers..I have seen my share of active duty .. and do not wish the results of war on any family. I quit the forces immediately after my tour as did 13.000 of us.

Brake Kleen .... Muriatic Acid 30% followed by a Baking Soda rub-down [ neutralizes the acid], wash down with warm soapy water, dry off , apply coat of oil with rag or brush. some performance enthusiasts still do this with crankshafts when they rebuild the engines.

Here's what i do ... Walleye is closed here now, I've caught alot of nice sized pike while jiggin' for Walleye , Pike although is still open.. I've upsized my Minnow to large shiners and sucker minnows..5" or so . I'm getting the odd Momma Walleye.. but quick limits of larger pike 27" - 33" 5 - 10 lbs... I use the same techniques I use for Walleye , just heavier gear. In the river ,I've found them in 18 feet , they've been there for 2 weeks. In the lake 10 feet or so. Slow trolled large Williams Wabler has been good to me as well. Tomorrow is my last day out before putting the boat to bed... I'll try a Live Lindy to see if i can coax a trophy..

I like this one...show your to the BASS!

NO but possibly the Ontario Record Laker will... maybe even break a world record for Walleye in Baie Jeanne.. Temagami has big pike, caught a 28lb there myself back in '03 ..@ Sandy Inlet. I lived In Temagami for a few years and know the lake pretty well myself. Potential Record Lake: but No Muskies....but if there were Temag' could probably grow a record.

This is me about 35 years ago.

Lake Nipissing,, French River , Sturgeon River... I have one on my wall that is 51 1/2 " that weighed 48 lbs 2oz.. I had one come and grab a walleye on my line this fall that dwarfed the 51"incher I'm guessing that is was about 60lbs or so...Sturgeon River.. the new record might even come from a lake that nobody knows about...like Murray or Kukagami even Nepewassi... who knows? My money lies with Nipissing the French or the Sturgeon River.
