  1. Nice report and pics Aaron!! Gotta love the fall time...
  2. Nice ski Terry!! What was the length on that beauty?
  3. Well a big congrats on the PB Brian!!! Like Mark said 5 of those and it's party time.. It was nice to run into you while I was scouting out some areas. Hope the weatherman's good to us at The Open. See you there. Marcel
  4. Nice smallies!! Can't wait to get out there for some of those fatties.
  5. Brian, Thanks for the gps co-ordinates!!!! Makes my pre fishing easier for The Open...just kidding. Good to see you had a great time out there and got into some nice fish!!! I also had cranking battery issues this weekend. My son was in the boat the day before and turned on my navigation switch and it drained my battery. Lesson learned..
  6. Good respectable showing for you and your son Brian. The crappy weather was only conditioning you for the Simcoe Open in October.LOL... See you there
  7. Check this site out. Great maps and they are laminated. Hope this helps you out. http://www.trakmaps.com
  8. Just use CAUTION when navigating the lake. Make sure you have a good map of the lake. There's alot of unmarked shoals and rock just below the water. The lake is known to eat up props and lower units. There's endless islands to fish and troll around for the toothy critters. Good Luck!!
  9. Thanks for the replies. Brian I'll probably launch out of Orillia too. I'll look for you in the morning to say hi. To bad the fishing wasn't to good for you at the Pool. Hopefully Couch is better to you..
  10. I was wondering if anyone knows of some boat launches on Couch close to Washago or anywhere near the north end of the lake. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks
  11. Great report Brian!! Very respectful showing on both days. Lots of big names and top notch anglers you fished against. Your time will come just keep plugging away... I like the used arsenal picture. My boat looks the same after every tourney too.Good luck at the next tourney!!!
  12. Price wise the Ko-Man-Chi "Wizzle Worms" Misfish mentioned are the best bang for your buck.A 25 pack for $8.50 is 34 cents per bait. I've used every knock off and senkos themselves and they are all comparable. They all catch fish and are great baits when the fishing gets tough. With so many brands out there it all depends on price and confidence.

Now that's a far fetched 12lber!!! Maybe 6.5lbs but not even close to the record. Compare it to this 9.83lber.... http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/fishing...tory?id=2931118 The two don't even compare. Wander how many pops he had ????
  14. I stayed on Wood Lake the July long weekend but didn't get out to fish much due to having the young ones there and bad weather. When I did get a chance to wet a line I caught some smallmouth and my little guy caught some big rock bass on tubes. Also caught a couple of largemouth in some of the bays on a spinnerbait. Just fish around some of the islands or in some of the bays and you should hook into something. Look for weed lines and they should produce some fish too!! Good Luck...
  15. Brian, Looks like your son is hooked. Awesome results too(3rd)!!! . Sounds like you two had a memorable weekend together. Tough to get your butt wooped by your son though.Hope he's not rubbing it in too much!LOL Thanks for sharing your weekend report with your son. Marcel
  16. Brian, Good report on you and your son's experience with his first tourney. You'll both remember that day forever.I can't wait for my boy to get older so he can experience one too. Good results for tough conditions. That rain just never stopped. We ended up 16th and just out of the money(0.04 oz.)and lost a 5lber at the boat . Well at least Team Ko-Man-Chi was well represented at Sparrow. It was a zoo at the launch and we never got to meet so maybe next time.Congrats on the results and enjoy those memories with your son!!!!! Marcel
  17. What are you guys doing with carp in your bathtubs anyways????? LOL
  18. Great report/pics and a nice surprise too!!! Musky and dingers/senkos????? Last year the same thing happened to me while fishing for bass with senko style baits. Maybe this is a new bait for Musky(if only it came in a 10 inch version ??????)
  19. Nice looking fish. I like the 3rd last pic.I noticed you had a friend sittng on the seat behind you. MMMMM!! Nice cold refreshment and bass fishing. Can't get any better than that!!!
  20. I've been using Cajun Red for 3 years now and don't really use it for the disappearing gimmick but it's a great line for toughness. I haven't had a break off on it yet. Very strong line and great for abrasion too. Pretty cheap also.As Charles mentioned it's good for line watching too.
  21. A couple years ago I fished a tourney and the winning team had around 19lbs(5 fish) all Smallies. They are in there for sure.
  22. Great report guys!!! Good to see the baits worked well for you. Nice to see the variety of species you caught on them too.
  23. No hard feelings Misfish on the Ford bashing. I still own one as well. It's just not good enough to tow with.LOL... Maybe we can have a drag with our boats in tow at Sparrow!!!
  24. I tow with an 03 Trailblazer and the power is far better than the Explorer.I use to tow with a 96 Exployer and wasn't happy with the tow power of the Ford. The Chev has lots of power to spare and tows nicer too.. The Trailblazer is hard on gas though.I agree with JPD about the Chev pulling a 20 footer with no problem.I tow my 17.5 footer and can hardly notice it's there.
  25. Thanks Dutch.. I've got to fill the boat/truck (170 litres) and just wanted to know the difference in price from here in town(104 also). Thanks again....
