Restoule has great smallie action along with musky, walleye, lakers. There are several small Lakes in the area that offer very good largemouth action that are in about 16 minutes of the park. Sand Lake,Burnt,Brimson and Barton Lake are a few. Stormy Lake which is in the PP has a good largemouth fishery in the back bays which are weed choked. Clear also has a few back bays which hold largemoth. My son pulled a 6lb largemouth from Barton 2 years ago from shore right by the road. This year he landed a 5lb smallie of the dock in the park with a crayfish. The one thing this area will also give you is a quiet peaceful vacation. There is very little to no fishing pressure on some of these lakes.I have been fishing them for 20 years now and would not go anywhere else,no huge crowda like other PP closer to highway 11.

Good Luck. If you want to wrestle some big skis try large orange and black spinnerbaits on Stormy,in the afternoon. Stop and talk to Bing at Martins Camp for the latest info on the fishin.

My dad lives just outside Lavigne. I fish this area 2-3 times each summer. Use spinnerbaits in green or white and rapalas 4-6 inch floating ones in orange or green around any of the islands in about 7-9ft of water and you will find lots of pike. The bridge over the bay in Lavigne is the deepest spot around roughly 17ft where you will find pike. smallies and even maybe walleye. Fish the weeds and pads and you will catch some largemouth, try topwater.jitterbugs work great.

There is a boat package for 8 grand on the classified board. 17ft Lowe with a 75 E-Tech. I would really like to put that motor on my boat. Here is the deal If someone is willing to spend 5 grand I will put up the 3 grand . I then will swap you motors, you keep the boat and a 2001 40hp Evinrude 4-stroke. I get the 75 e-tech. Or if someone wants to buy that boat for the price asked I will swap you motors plus 3000.

there is a spot to pull over a big rig on 64 right at the bridge on the east side before you cross the bridge by Lakair. There is also some very good fishing to be had there as well. My son and I caught several smallies,2 pike and 3 walleye fishing the bridge on 2 evenings around the 8th and 9th of July this year.

Restoule is a great park. The park is a little more isolated than the others and provides more of a secluded adventure. The park is surrounded by crownland. As for fishing from shore there are some places inside the park that offer descent bass fishing from the docks or shore. There are a few back lakes that are fishable from shore after a drive on backroads to get to them. The government dock in town provides some shore angling opportunities for bass, pike and even musky. There are several places to rent a boat and motor from in town and keep it docked in the park. The prices start at about 60 bucks plus gas a day.If you want to catch some walleye, lake trout or even musky a boat is a must. Shore fishing in the park is spotty st best due to the very shallow water on the park side.A canoe would be okay but the park side is usually very windy making canoeing difficult. The fishing in the lakes is very good but a boat is needed to access the better opportunities.

what exactly will this power. CTC has a 950 w 2 hp generator on sale at the CTC store here in St,Thomas for 99 bucks. Will this be enough to power a tent trailer to run a few lights and a small RV fridge? It would be great to have power for the trailer when a hydro hook up is not available. thanks for any advice.

the one in St.Thomas has several Blue Fox lures. I bought a few of the Vibrax minnow chasers in different sizes.

I have been fishing Restoule and camping in the park for 20 years now. We just got back from 2 weeks there. The fishing was definately slower this year due to the fact the water temp was cooler than normal. We still managed a few good feeds of walleye and caught 3 musky in a time period of 30 minutes. My son caught a 5lb smallmouth off one of the park docks with a crayfish. For walleye on Restoule Macarthurs Point which is west from the park seemed to be the hotspot this year. As well the first island west of the park. Bass are pretty much everywhere but Maws Island has great smallie action all around it. Musky are everywhere usually in the 15ft depths around islands or shoals. We watched one devour a smallmouth while standing on the government dock beside marina. If you want some great bass action and have a canoe or small tinny or you can even fish from shore travel down Sand Lake road about 14 kms to Sand Lake. The road has some rough spots but you can get back there with a mini van,I did. Also just outside of the village of Restoule on the road to Powasson you will see Barton Lake. There is a spot to throw in a canoe or small tinny and again you can fish from shore. This lake has bass, pike and walleye and sees very little pressure. Both Stormy and Clear have generally better fishing then Restoule. Try any of the shoals for walleye and bass. There are musky everywhere and some real big ones. Pike are very few in these lakes due to the fact the musky are so numerous. Try taking a boat ride down the river from Stormy towards the dam. Great bass water as well as probably the best pike fishing in the lakes.Once at the dam try fishing below it in the pools lots of smallies and maybe like us you will get be surprise. In the largest pool we pulled out 3 musky this year. One was about 25lbs the other 2 around 12-15. All were caught on 5 inch jigs fishing for smallies. Spend some time on Clear great fishing for walleyes, musky and bass. Lots of shore and shores to fish. As for baits try jigs, minnow baits and of course live bait. Leeches for walleye and minnows for the bass. For any other questions to be answered talk to Bing at Martins Camp.He will point you in the right direction.

what type of inflatable are you talking about? The ones that are a couple hundred bucks at CTC or Zodiacs with the hard floors(around 1500 dollars and up). I am considering buying a 9ft inflatable (Zodiac) with a hard folding plastic floor to put my 6hp on to get into some small back lakes. It is rated for a 20hp.

Looks like I will be camping there this weekend. If anyone has some info on the park please share. I will be camping at either site 43 or 39 . How is this area for privacy and trees? I also plan on bringing the boat. Can you dock them in the park or do you have pull them out. As for fishing any tips would be appreciated as in where from the park waters for different species. thanks for any replies.

I am looking at getting away next weekend to do some tenting and fishing. I just got back from 2 weeks at Restoule and I am hoping to find something similar but closer. I was thinking about Emily PP. Any feedback would be great. I am willing to travel about 3 hours from London so if any one could suggest a PP,private campground or even a conservation area in the same area or somewhere north past Barrie.Belleville area,or north of Peterborough please post. I will be bringing the 16ft boat so good boating is a must and would like to fish walleye.pike/musky and bass.. Thanks for all replies. If you know of a good private campground(similar to Lakair Lodge) on a lake with some descent privacy on the sites in these areas please post.

only a 40 minute drive is the Loring/ Restoule area. Lots of lakes, lots of big fish and certainly more than enough small back road lakes which you can get to. Worth the effort. These lakes hold all the species you seek , as well as large and smallmouth, plus alot hold good musky numbers as well.

well if your staying in the National Park ,Cypress Lake has smallies and walleye. The water is crystal clear so use small minnow baits and live bait. The connecting Lake is called Cameron and you can use powerboats on it and rent them there. Cypress has a no gas motor restriction. Some of the small creeks in the area hold brookies. Watch out for the rattlers, lots of them around.

well myself started with a cooking job during high school. That spun into restaurant manager, kitchen manager After a few years deciding there was no money in this field took a job in food production plant in London. Worked as receiver, quality control and production for 17 years until they locked the doors 5 years ago. Too bad great money, lots of holidays. Now I work in both hospitals in St.Thomas one as a cook/inventory control, the other as a dietary aide. Both part time and work well together working about 50 hours a week between the 2. Great money, and like the jobs and as much time off as I want. I guess I can't complain much.
