  1. definitely an osprey
  2. when the water was dirty, chunks of skein, when the water cleared up, single eggs. As for spots, if you can figure it out, congratulations, if not, sorry.
  3. Not much of a report, too busy, but I'll post pics from the past 3 days.
  4. i hooked a sturgeon in the nottawasaga a few years ago while drifting for some chrome, it spooled me and i went home.
  5. Hey buddy, is that "THE spot" ?? You know where Im talking about if it is. I've been getting them pretty good there this past week on hoppers as well.
  6. big weights on cooch this year, last year we had 14.26 for 9th. This year, we would have been in the 30's with that kind iof weight
  7. haha misfish, I get possession of the new house this weekend so I wont be fishing it, id love to but i cant afford it, and im kinda commited to something else, but they are on deep weeds. Shot it as about my 67th 1 minute video of the day on my camera, hit delete many times until i got bit on camera haha.
  8. Don't have too muc htime to write a report. Gotta work at 5am... pics and video will explain it all.
  9. dude, you're welcome in my boat any day. seriously
  10. I have had largies spit up small bullhead before, as well as small bluegills and pumpkinseeds, perch are very common bass diet as well. All dpends on available forage.
  11. nice fish dude!!
  12. nice job dude. big fish
  13. I dont have the summer off misfish, I work full time, but i strategically arranged a 5am - 2pm shift to have my afternoons and weekends off. Pretty brilliant if i do say so myself.
  14. No walleye or pike, just bass, and some massive crappie. Head out to the middle of the lake and find the weed clumps, then start chucking. Most baits can coax them up. There is a youth fishing tournament there on saturday, so try and be respectful of them, they want to have a good time.
  15. Thanks guys, I had fun for sure, back out at the end of the week. Of course it will be followed by a report.
  16. yeeeeeaah boooyyyy
  17. haha solo. i am definitely a wimp, im a fatty and i like my sleep haha. Andy, let me know when you're headed up next, I'll give you some pike spots, you give me some walleye spots. Best of both worlds.
  18. white bass eh? I was wondering that. It seemed like an odd place for drum, but having little experience with both, I had to throw out a guess, haha Thanks for the correction.
  19. Well, well, well. It's been about a week since my last report and it's about time to fill you all in on my past week's smorgasbord of fishing tales. Monday Was working a night shift today, which is not normal for me, however, I'll take a blessing when given one. Kelli and I got out to Simcoe this morning in search of some monster smallies. Hit up some favourite spots and saw lots of big fish, but they were spooky. I lost about a 3 pounder on a jerkbait, caught lots of dinks on tubes. Kelli caught lots on a tube and broke off a big girl on the hook set, dang 6 pound test! Kelli with a couple of her Simcoe smallies, dinks for the lakes standard, but a fun day out. Wednesday Had a club tournament on Cooch tonight, a 2pm - 7:30 pm "twilight" tourney. Got off to a great start and had my limit in the boat in less than 10 minutes, including a 3 pounder. Had a hard time upgrading, but we managed to come in with 20.10 pounds (8 fish limit .... 4 fish each), including a 4.05 pounder. We placed 2nd! I was expecting better weight but a few of my key spots just did not produce. Pics are on another camera, will post thme when i get them. Thursday My younger cousing Brent is a part of the Junior Bassmasters program, and recently won their first tourney of the year on Sparrow Lake and even won big fish with a 3.75 largie. Brent with his fish from Sparrow Anyways, with an upcoming tournament, I had to get him out to pre-fish, and give him some spots and tips. He did very well, landing more than a limits worth of fish, and not losing any!! Wish him the best of luck this weekend!! Nice bucket to start the day Another nice cruiser. Nice smallie off our secret shoal. Friday After a LONG LONG drive following a 5am shift at Bass Pro, we arrived at Lake Nipissing. I was way too tired to get out that evening but we sat on the dock to shoot the poop, and do a little fishin. Tyler landed a nice little drum to start off the weekend. Saturday Saturday was a tough day. We started off going for walleye and only came up with some small perch, so we went to my strength. Bass Fishing! We fished flukes in shallow water and missed a few nice smalljaws, and came up with some little pike. As the evening went on, we got onto a nice topwater bite and started puttin some nice smallies in the boat. Sunday Sunday was HOT HOT HOT. The girls satyed at the cabin and drank daquiries to keep cool, we braved it and went searching. Got onto a good spinnerbait bite and landed some nice smallies in the 2-3 pound range. Went back out in the evening for that topwater bite and it was on again, even rewarding us with some topwater pike action. Great Week, hopefully this one will be just as good, if I can afford it!
  20. looks like a great trip. good job!
  21. Well a buddy was visiting from Pickering and another buddy was up camping for the weekend, so what better incentive to go fishing?? Took them out to a small lake nearby for some fun fishing. Being a tournament angler, most of my fishing is either tournaments or pre-fishing, where I'm trying to get them to bite but not hook them. I really lose sight of the "fun fishing." And let me tell you, I had a blast on Saturday with my two buddies. Being a tournament angler, we still had to each weigh our 5 biggest, a little friendly competition, but no pressure, which was nice, a missed fish was frustrating, but not a costly error, takes a lot off your shoulders let me tell you. Oh yeah, and an 8:30 launch time is acceptable... woohoo. So we launch at 8:30 and first fish is in the boat at 8:40, Slow presentations were key ... tubes, senkos, flippin jigs and lizards all put fish in the boat for us, even a few crankbait fish. All in all we caught over 30 fish, mostly in 4-6 feet of water, although the bigger fish came in about 8. Andrew only had 3 fish, but they went 7lbs 1oz. Tyler had 5 fish for 11 lbs 2 oz. I had 5 fish for 12 lbs 1 oz. No huge fish, but we had a blast.... Oh yeah, and out biggest 5 TOTAL, went 12 lbs 8 oz. Thanks for reading. SR
  22. My tournament partner has a cottage on Doe Lake, and he's reported some tough fishing these past few weeks. Pike are hitting well, but he travels 10 mins or so to another lake for bass and eyes.
  23. simcoe smallies were up relatively shallow yesterday, likely due to the front that was coming through, normally at this time of year I drag tubes or throw jerkbaits in 12-22 feet of water, these fish were in about 8 feet, big one hit it on the drop.
  24. Well Wednesday I got into my truck at 4am to head to work, about 5 mins into the drive... there goes my tire... awesome. CAA comes, seals it, reinflates it, start up my truck, wont go into gear, goodbye tranny. Had it towed to my best friends house who is a mechanic, he fixes her up, replaces the fluid that was all gone, charges me for parts, no labour, gotta love it. Anyways, while he was getting his fix on (after his real day was done), my cousin towed my boat up to bass lake in orillia on his way to gravenhurst, so we only got 3 hours out before he came back toget us, but 3 hours is better than nothing especially when you catch over 20 bass in that time frame. I got more largies, my g/f got more smallies, thats how the dice roll. Nothing huge, but some solid 2 pounders My two biggest ... went about 12 pounds for 5 fish, nothing huge. One more cast.... slurp, then he felt my 3/0 gammy Got out to Simcoe today with a buddy. I hate Simcoe, but he loves it, figured I'd give in. Well I caught a few on a jerkbait, and he caught 2 on a tube. My biggest is on the right, his biggest is on the left ... I'm a loser today lol.
