Got out to Cooch today to test the boat out for the 08 season. Ended up fishing around some marinas for perch. Landed about 200 between us and kept 20 for the pan.

We spent 2 full days, plus 3 confined dives and 2 open waters dives, with PADI instructors.

well I got back from dominican yesterday where I got certified for scuba diving, what a blast!!! Today, back in this cold nation, my roommate wanted to take his "new" boat out for a test. So we decided on some crappie. We got into them pretty good, but no real big ones. Small tubes worked well, also little 2 inch grubs. Around 7pm I got an OOS largemouth around 3 pounds, back quickly she went. 10 minutes later, my float drops, and about 5 minutes later I boated this. Kind of fun on a 5' UL rod and 6 lbs test. Here's a couple crappie for the pan.

These are standard tournament rules, with pictures there will always be controversy. Having a weigh in (or measure-in) is the simplest way to do it. Live release pike tournaments happen every year. I have a 30 inch livewell but on the angle, it's about a 35 inch livewell and fits a 38 inch pike just fine. I've never seen a pike over 38 inches weighed in out of Couchiching yet. Not saying it couldnt happen, but these rules are standard. If they dont appeal to you, then I'm sorry, maybe a pike tournament is not for you.

Launch is on Centennial Drive at Couchiching Beach Park

We will have one person doing all the measurements. These are the rules of the tournament, if you like them, fish it, if you dont, then dont.

You cant restore springs and upwellings, which brook trout require to spawn.

The steelhead fishery is self sustaining. Chinooks are definitely put and take.

Thanks guys the fish were moving up, broke off two CHROME fish because the only leaderline I had left was 3.4 lbs and there was lots of timber around. With this blowout we're about to get, these fish will shoot right up. I think thats my last time out before opener. It's okay, I'll enjoy some saltwater fishing in Dominican next week.

Got out at 630 this morning to a favourite trib, water was still pretty dirty, but levels were down and it was definitely fishable. By 640 I had my first fish in my hands. The bite was on and off until 1130 when I had to leave. Overall landed about 10 fish between 3 of us. No bigguns, lots of little shakers around. I know I'm gonna catch crap from someone about not blurring my backgrounds. The way I see it, if you recognize it, then you already know it, therefore, who cares.

as an employee of bass pro shops, i can tell you that is is true!

I stayed in Cayo Coco a few years ago, and we took a cab to La Redonda reservior to go bass fishing. Total round trip, plus guide was around 200 bucks.
