  1. To clarify, we are planning on staying at Leisure Bay Landing (which has cottages, btw) but I want to go to PAB between now and then for a day trip on my own to "pre-scout". I could launch from there or Rock Pines and pay to launch but thought that if there is a free municipal launch, I'd use that instead (for the pre-trip day) Thanks!

  2. My grandparents had a cottage at Long Point...I spent my childhood summers fishing there. Absolutely you can take your Kayak out. The inner bay has a labyrinth of channels/lagoons in the reeds with excellent Largemouth fishing all summer long, and Pike in the spring. On calm days, you can make it out deeper in the bay to the sandbars for Smallmouth. You can also paddle up Big Creek that gets a good run of Steelhead in spring and fall, and also has some big Catfish.

  3. Fished PAB before and seems to have decent numbers of small and slot size walleye. Sturgeon Bay has decent numbers of smaller pike and you might get some better size as you work out the main channel. Will PM you.

  4. Well since you asked…. This followed me home the other day. Meghan gave me an early birthday present. It’s been almost 8 years since going coastal and I haven’t had a boat under my butt since then. I’ll say it shore line fishing sucks! So for the time being we are going to hit lakes in Queens county. So many lakes not enough days. Back to basics! Chart plotter and bow mount coming at some point. ill keep you posted Cheers BITEME

  5. The bay just outside of the launch should have some nice cabbage growth by then. Shouldn't be hard to find a few pike there.
